Rosie lied, her MSNBC show died

So says Roger Friedman.
Contrary to reports, there will be no Rosie O’Donnell show on MSNBC.
According to sources, Rosie and the struggling cable network have ended talks. They apparently could not reach an agreement on money or the length of a contract, with Rosie remaining steadfast in her desire not to commit to more than one year.
And don’t believe that it was because O’Donnell mentioned the negotiations last week in public that MSNBC scotched the deal. In the end, it was about money.
The network couldn’t afford to make a deal for Rosie just based on a nighttime show. It would have to have been tied into something else on daytime. The problem with that? O’Donnell doesn’t want to return to a grueling daytime schedule while her kids are in school.
Yesterday on her blog, Rosie wrote that the show fell apart because she blabbed about it too soon. Today’s news prompts this verse from me.
ro
u lie
bye bye
On her blog today, she says Olbermann is the best news show on TV. In that sentence, news needs some massive scare quotes on it.

Someone should call Allahpundit to see if he’s okay after this news. The thought of losing all of that potential content has got to sting.
Slublog on November 8, 2007 at 1:45 PM
Why would the network argue? It’s not like it would’ve been on longer than that…
amerpundit on November 8, 2007 at 1:45 PM
I never watch. I can rarely stomach the clips here at HotAir. Is there actually “news” being delivered, or just his blowhard opinions?
ej_pez on November 8, 2007 at 1:46 PM
It’s got to be some consolation because MSNBC made that candid admission about how they’re tacking left.
see-dubya on November 8, 2007 at 1:48 PM
It’s going to sound like a joke, what I’m about to say, but I swear that on Fox & Friends, they said there were reports that she demanded a helicopter to work every day, which was just one of many over the top demands that ended talks.

Rosie lied
Show died
Ordinary1 on November 8, 2007 at 1:49 PM
(there’s a potential I half-imagined that… I was in and out of sleep, but I’m pretty sure that’s what they said)
RightWinged on November 8, 2007 at 1:49 PM
I’m sure the blabbing was an effort on her part to raise a groundswell of support from the rabble. Fortunately—for us all—it failed.
jdpaz on November 8, 2007 at 1:50 PM
Rosie vs Olberman cagematch!
That’s about the only thing I’d tune in to NBC to watch.
Metro on November 8, 2007 at 1:51 PM
No she just dresses them up in ACUs and posts them all over her blog.
liquidflorian on November 8, 2007 at 1:52 PM
Maybe “Green Week” forced them to cut her show since she spouts so much pollution. (ba-dum-chhh)

You know, it’s kinda sad in a way.
If it wasn’t for AllahP, Bryan and Michelle, I would have never been edumacated about the Rosie show. I meany, comedy tonight.
Not that we need another Keith Ogerman, but think of the material, the voluminous vacuous material.
I’ll have to put away the jiffy-pop and koolaid for another time I guess.

If MSNBC wants to tack all the way to the left they could bring back that other liar, creepy liar O’Donnell – name of Lawrence.
He’s a Rosie clone, sans the manliness.
fogw on November 8, 2007 at 1:59 PM
She could take him easy, he’d be screaming like the b___h he is.

time to put Rosie out to pasture and let nature take its course, sans the breeding.

It’s too bad. There could have been some entertaining diva pouting on the part of KO if Ro had gotten more bucks and better perks.

Watching that Rosie video reminds me of a video of a kid that committed suicide. That girl is in so much emotional pain. Well, good thing that she went for “what makes her happy” she’s “true to herself” you know because obviously just by looking at her you can see that is working out for her.

I love your sense of humor!
Ann on November 8, 2007 at 2:26 PM
Sounds like one of the probs she had with the view, wanting more money than she is worth.
Wouldn’t commit for more than a year? Why the heck would anyone invest in a show that’s only got one season in it? That’s a filler not part of the starting line up.

It had me in stitches also! It’s one thing to be lost in translation, it’s another to use ro-speak text abbreviation’s to communicate a message.

abinitioadinfinitum on November 8, 2007 at 2:43 PM
I for one, VERY diappointed that there will be no Rosie show. Just think about here unabashed mouth running for a hour. Lets start the fund to get Rosie back on. I’ve got two bucks to get it kicked off. What do ya say people.

Lawrence Odonnell won’t do a show. This guys barely works at all. No chance he’ll commit to a TV schedule work week.

She also refers to the wrong end of the horse.
Jim Treacher on November 8, 2007 at 3:21 PM
Do you guys have any idea how much sweet video content we lost with this busted deal? This would have been 10-15% of my workload next year.
Now it’s gone. In a flash.

After MSNBC shopping RO, their still on the air, its true some people are sense-less…..
ahkjr33 on November 8, 2007 at 3:50 PM
Don’t worry, MSNBC will continue to provide content. Ten minutes ago, they had up on their breaking news graphics during the OJ hearing that the witness had taken “perscribed oxicotin.”
rw on November 8, 2007 at 3:53 PM
…and Entelechy puts the fingers of one hand together, touches her lips, and then both facial cheeks, because on the other Rosie thread said this, not so long ago:
Please, oh please, all my friends here, and the ones who don’t want to be my friends, forgive this lapse in modesty!
Worry not big A; she didn’t go away and the dems and some cons didn’t either.
Greed doesn’t always win. Blind power next year won’t either.
Entelechy on November 8, 2007 at 3:53 PM
The money issue seems like a great cover. I’m more inclined to believe that NBC’s shareholders were outraged at the thought of a Ro show, so to make her go away, they just lowballed her.
RMCS_USN on November 8, 2007 at 3:54 PM
Not how this lib can’t distinguish between news and commentary. The left cries about how Fox News is so bias in their reporting of the news without realizing that most of the content on that network is commentary and opinion.
But I am sure that Ro-Ro feels that Olby truly is presenting the unvarnished “news” every night. Oy.

Heh, reminds me of the clay-mation show Celebrity Death Match! Is it on the air still, and if so did they ever do a Rosie and Donald celebrity death match? Not my favorite show in the least but I’d watch just to hear the ro slurs and see her get the clay beat out of her!!

Rosie should just stay out of any type of media endeavor, or acting, because these jobs require talent. She should stay with what she started out doing but with a twist that may bring her a following.
Ready, Come on in and see a really strange act, step right up get your tickets here, See a lezlib you won’t believe you eyes or ears.
Come one Come all, see “Rosie doing Stand Up while standing on her head” so she can not step in it.
