Iranians claim to have 3,000 centrifuges working
posted at 8:33 am on November 7, 2007 by Bryan
Nothing like a little good news to start the day.
Iran has achieved a landmark with 3,000 centrifuges fully working in its controversial uranium enrichment program, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Wednesday.
Ahmadinejad has in the past claimed Iran succeeded in installing the 3,000 centrifuges at its uranium enrichment facility at Natanz. Wednesday’s claim was his first official statement that the plant is now fully operating the 3,000 centrifuges.
“We have now reached 3,000 machines,” Ahmadinejad told thousands of Iranians in Birjand in eastern Iran, in a show of defiance of international demands to halt the program believed to be masking the country’s nuclear arms efforts.
Centrifuges are used in enriching uranium, a process that can produce either fuel for a nuclear reactor or material for a warhead.
Dennis Kucinich could not be reached for comment. He was too busy trying to tear our own country apart.

Also, during the same speech, he bragged about turning down a U.S. offer of talks stating that Iran and Iran only set the agenda for talks.

It’s time to make the ground under those centrifuges a very dangerous place to stand.

O/T By the way, Bryan, nice job this week.

Mohamed ElBaradei was also unavailable for comment.
But Hans Blix was.

To borrow from Reagan: “We begin bombing in five minutes.”

I wonder what a little bit of molten sand will do to those machines.

Show me!

Meh. They have 3,000 centrifuges; we have 3,000 fully armed nuclear missiles aimed at Tehran and the surrounding industrial areas. Fair enough.

Time to inject some sand into their delicate little gears…

FYI. You need to edit your Blix link.

Why is that a landmark, and not a grim milestone?

Somebody tell me again what that Israeli bombing of something-or-other in Syria accomplished.
corona on November 7, 2007 at 9:57 AM
What a jerk.
Meanwhile it’s time to kick the tires and light the fires, since the rest of the world won’t join us in tough enough sanctions to work (if tough sanctions could work).

I honestly don’t know why we sit idly by and take all of this crap from a mouse that roars. We have but two choices.
1. Take out their nuke facilities and military infrastructure NOW and suffer the consequences of whatever response the Iranians are able to muster from the leftover rubble.
2. WAIT it out until these lunatics have the bomb, drop the bomb and kill millions of innocent people, and then take out their nuke facilities and military infrastructure.
Regardless of all the other factors that are thrown into the equation of what we can do and what repercussions might follow, weighing these two options should take precedence above all others.
The Iranians become more dangerous with each passing day.
Bryan, if this report is true I think we can draw a parallel between this thread and the previous thread. It’s reflective of more Russian meddling.

WINSTON CHURCHILL ON ISLAM – IN 1899!
“How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries!
Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live.
A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity.
The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has
ceased to be a great power among men.
Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities – but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it.
No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.”
-Sir Winston Churchill (The River War, first edition, Vol. II, pages 248-50 (London: Longmans, Green & Co., 1899).

I say we wait until Iran nukes somebody.
Isn’t that the Dems’ (and the world community’s) plan?
That way we’ll have a real reason to respond vigorously.
Maybe a single-spaced condemnation instead of double.

I do believe about 3,000 centrifuges or so was enough to get pakistan the bomb. This is very serious. With longer nights coming up and considering how our military “owns the night” I think we can look forward to some things going “BOOM” in Iran within then next few months.

Very nice. Thank you for sharing it. Straight talk — something sorely lacking in the 21st century. Where’s our Churchill?

Nothing a few bunker busters can’t cure.

I wonder if ‘dinner jacket’ does bomb a nuclear country, like Israel or the U.S., will retaliation take down every city in Iran or just the major ones? Should make for interesting TV. I bet the MSM is gearing up already.
countywolf on November 7, 2007 at 11:50 AM
So when will Mr DinnerJacket allow the rest of the world to view this materpiece of Iranian technological progress? I mean in the past they have shown us aircraft that could quite literally fly circles around our combat aircraft, missles that skim a bare 6 inches abouve the water at about Mach 5 and don’t forget the impressive display they had of our, er their combat aircraft demonstration team cleverly disquised in the paint scheme of our Thunderbirds.
Reganism: Trust but verify
And of course if China is helping the engineers are more likely to die of lead poisoning before the bomb gets built.

Are you kidding? Political correctness has wiped out honest straight talk years ago. It has been replaced by the mush mouth press and scripted politicians. Even Hot Air is very touchy about open discussion. Hopefully, the pendulum will swing back one of these days in my lifetime.
Fat Chance.
