The author of the GAO report, Richard Stana, said most of those who were wrongly allowed to enter were economic migrants who did not present a security risk.

. Doesn't the word most mean that they know that some weren't "harmless" illegals? What are they doing about those guys? . I need a job where I mostly have to get it right.

My mother was recently hit by an illegal alien driving way too fast and broadsided her car. Brain damage, car totaled and the records of the accident vanished. The guy was in some other persons car and no insurance.

The irony is that as you come up (North) in Mexico to the U.S. , you are constantly stopped by the Mexican army and interviewed and screened. No less than 6 times from Loreto to San Diego. If you are not American (or Mexican), you are hassled. I am more comfortable with them finding middle east terrorists, then I am of our own border patrols. The searches can be very thorough, and usually at each end of the patrol stops there is a machine gun behind sand bags. They have always been very polite and professional. Granted they are looking for drugs and guns, but they always check to make sure you are American. They ask those cools questions about baseball or football, or certain streets names in the city your visa state your from. The scary part is the 16 year old kids with a loaded rifle standing in the background.

I did the math and the probability of damage to America is quite high.

That’s the problem with government. Too much empire building, status seeking and not enough actual work being done. Just drive by any state road work project. 1 guy shoveling, 3 guys leaning on shovels and and 5 guys watching the 1 guy shoveling. Multiply that by millions and there’s your answer.

Ah, Steve, not all of us! Having had 30 years as a gummint employee, I would be willing to bet that the problems is lack of manpower. There tends to be a lot of spending at the UPPER levels, on manager and administrative jobs, as well as things like “sensitivity” training and such, which leaves not enough to put money where it would really count and where it is really needed – at the “worker-bee” level.

How many of these people have been through the training camps in Pakistan and where are they now?

There’s a guy I used to work for that moved in with his girlfriend in Canada. Everyday he drives back and forth over the boarder to go to work and then back home. It a amazes me that no one on either side has been, “Hey, what’s up here?” Shows how no one is keeping track of this stuff.

Is there even a computer network set up to cross reference crossing data?
