Video: Silky opposes drivers licenses for illegal aliens

Well. Look who’s running to Hillary’s right on Eliot Spitzer’s drivers licenses for illegals plan. John Edwards appeared on This Week for an interview with former Clinton administration staffer George Stephanopolous. Edwards hammered away at Clinton for playing the girl card and announced that he opposes the Spitzer plan to give drivers licenses to illegal aliens who aren’t on track to become legal residents or citizens. That exchange comes about 7 minutes in.
He still supports “comprehensive immigration reform,” though, which would amnesty millions who are here illegally, and would put them in a spot where Edwards would favor them getting drivers licenses. So ultimately he’s still on the wrong side of the issue even while he’s scoring points against Hillary over the Spitzer plan.
Illegal immigration may prove to be the salient issue next year, and the Democrats are more divided on it than the Republicans are at this point.
Clinton, meanwhile, is still taking grief over the Hillarycare documents issue that Tim Russert raised during the debate last week. The field is opening up for an aggressive challenger to start chipping away at Hillary’s lead. Edwards goes on ABC to talk policy and criticize Clinton directly (and sound mostly sane in the interview), while Obama goes on SNL to play dress-up.

This phony is so transparent . . . he’s exploiting a perceived vulnerability with Hillary but is still a firm supporter of Amnesty with a view toward more Democrat voters. These worms constantly amaze me.

I couldn’t agree more Bryan, playing the semantics game allows him to say that now, but later claiming it was for illegal aliens, after they are granted Shamnesty.

North Carolina already gives driver’s licenses to illegals, if I’m not mistaken. Here in NY and NJ, our illegals are easy to spot on the highways. They all have NC plates! NC is a magnet for illegal driver’s licenses. Who knows, Silky might have been NC’s senator when they started giving out licenses to illegals.

That will be on NY’s 4th license. However, illegals will have the option of which kind of license they prefer to carry. Citizens and legal residents will have no options except to pay.

How can any sane Democrat vote for these wannabes? If they aren’t defending the “General Betray Us” campaign, they are writing letters trying to get Rush Limbaugh fired, looking to backdoor amnesty for illegals, undermining the troops and war effort, corrupting young minds in indoctrination camps (aka as the public school system)….. etc.
It’s a serious question. How can Democrats in good conscience vote for people so clearly intent on destroying this nation as we know it?

It’s one thing for illegals to get drivers licenses- they can be used for identification purposes but they need tags too? Just how covert are these people?
IMO, the Democrat Party is going to get it’s clock cleaned in 2008 largely because of their idiotic “leadership” of Congress and because they underestimate the true outrage there is for these Spitzer-like initiatives!

He certainly is the worst of the bunch. What bothers me is that the one who does it the least is RP. I guess honest people can’t get elected or else Fred, Rudy, Mitt, and the rest would be slavish towards intellectual honesty.

I know there are sane democrats and I honestly haven’t heard of anyone that I consider sane openly supporting her. Now the liberals are a different story. Liberalism is a psychological disorder and those are the folks who support her. Anyone who doesn’t fit either of those groups and are involved with Hillary are doing so for what they will gain from a 3rd Clinton presidency.

The big three networks are all firmly in Hillary Clinton’s corner and pocket. People like Katy Couric, Brian Williams etc. are all from the age group, the same private colleges and have the same mind set as Hillary Clinton. For all of them VietNam and Watergate are the lodestar of their thinking. Osama Ben Laden may be a bad guy but he is nothing compared to Nixon. So Hillary Clinton is everything that they see in themselves: Virtuous, against the VietNam war, procivil rights, progressive etc. John Edwards is not someone they identify with on a personal level, although they agree with him politically. Edwards chose to devote most of his life to making money and lots of it. To the people at the networks, there are only two legitimate way to have money: inherit it like the Kennedys or earn it through jobs in the main street media, where you can make megasalaries but still feel virtuous.
Edwards made his millions from fender benders and botched nose jobs and to the MSM, there is something inherently smelly about this. So they will always favor Hillary over Edwards.

The real reason this ‘slip -n- fall ambulance chaser‘ does not want Illegals to have drivers licenses is because they won’t be required to have car Insurance or have any money to be sued when the cause accidents.

Commenting more on style rather than substance, but with all the money that Edwards has, why does he wear jeans with a jacket and dress shirt? Noticed that the other video footage showed him in jeans as well. Does he really think this will make him a “man of the people”? Just another example of him putting on a false front if you ask me.
