Dang, the diggbats would go nuts over this…there was a popular post there today on how FOX News viewers are “stupid”.

And hey…what are you doing still workin’ on your vaca, AP?

Somehow, I believe, that during AP’s vacation we will have quite a few Banderas posts. With all that free time, rewatching her clips on his TIVO is priority number one :P

Please, AP, get in your car (do NYers have cars?) and take a drive….somewhere.

I had a nightmare that I opened my browser and went to a HorAir.com devoid of new posts, save one lonely annoucement that AllahPundit had died from a rare disease associated with over exposure to LCD radiation.

So, please please go and experience the one time of year where it is tolerable to be outside in the Northeast.

Well you either get ‘em delivered, or you only buy what you can carry. There’s bodegas on every block for those quickie shopping endeavours.

JetBoy on November 4, 2007 at 10:21 PM

How do you buy groceries and bring them home?

There are enough grocery stores in New York that you’re always within walking distance of one. Plus New Yorkers do a lot of ordering out. It’s not hard to lug two or three bags a few blocks.

Boy, am I glad I live in California, because I have, like, choices. I can drive my car to work (and leave one in the driveway ‘cuz I can’t like, drive two at the same time, ya know), ride my bike the 10 miles to work, or if I was really desperate and didn’t mind spending an hour and a half to go 10 miles, I could take the bus.

It’s all about choices, baby. No car payments, either.

Based on my brother’s experience, becoming a true resident of NYC requires a certain unwritten set of conditions. It is no less serious than the vows one takes when one enters the priesthood. One abandons all automobiles. There is nothing that can’t be delivered.

Yeah, but Banderas is so ungodly hot that she may be the first anchorwoman whose hotness is actually a liability to her show. Other guys have told me this too: sometimes she looks so good that it’s hard to follow along with what she’s saying. It’s almost like the sound cutting in and out. That happened last year too during our first Bethany Vent. So help me, I had to watch the clip three times before I knew what the topic was.

Allahpundit on November 4, 2007 at 10:41 PM

She took the test twice, right? Then her announced score is probably the two totaled up!

Bob's Kid on November 4, 2007 at 10:45 PM

A few weeks ago, maybe as long as a couple months back, there was a brief segment on that show where Julie showed footage of her showing up to the studios for them to do hair & makeup for the show. I guess the intent was a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into getting the anchors ready for the show.

Point is, her hair was naturally curly, and she looked way more, shall I say, “ethnic” than she does as the ‘finished product’ we see there. And as good as she may look there, she looked way better in her ‘natural’ state. Rowr.

Here’s the clip (from about June ’06, I think) of Julie getting into a shouting match with Shirley Phelps-Roper, the wicked witch of the Westboro “Baptist Church”. Maybe it wasn’t the most professional moment for Julie, but it was kinda nice to see her react like a normal human being when confronted with that level of crazy. Plus she looks even hotter when she gets all flushed and passionate.

Kini on November 4, 2007 at 11:29 PM

Seriously,

If anyone has never been to NYC you need to go just to check it out.

No car is required…

You can always get a cab.

Mass transit works (unlike DC)

You can hire a limo for $30, to get your drunk friends back to a hotel at 2am. (doing the job of the best man that night)

Bodegas on every street. (convince stores more or less)

For lunch…stop by a street vendor. (some of the best food in the city).

In the US there is really no city like it.

I have been to Atlanta/Boston/Chicago/Indy/LA/San Diego/San Fran/Denver/San Antonio/Houston/Orlando/Phoenix/Philly/DC and others. No US city comes close to NYC.

It is something to see first hand.

Let me get this straight. With an IQ of 135, you couldn’t figure out that your false modesty would not fool anyone?

135 certainly is high; a IQ as low as 90 would afford you the capacity to run a Google query on IQ scores.

Many people lay claim to IQs higher than 140. Many more people who actually have such high IQs know there are a lot of liars. It’s even worse when you have parents who attribute their kids’ educational problems to their intellect – to their boredom with regular classes, curriculum etc.

Congratulations, News!
Your IQ score is 138

This number is based on a scientific formula that compares how many questions you answered correctly on the Classic IQ Test relative to others.

Your Intellectual Type is Visionary Philosopher. This means you are highly intelligent and have a powerful mix of skills and insight that can be applied in a variety of different ways. Like Plato, your exceptional math and verbal skills make you very adept at explaining things to others — and at anticipating and predicting patterns. And that’s just some of what we know about you from your IQ results.

Still, an IQ and a visit to a local NY deli for a bagel and smear, keeps me on topic.

Kini on November 5, 2007 at 12:29 AM

Since “intelligence” as measured by the tests has never really been defined, the actual score really doesn’t mean much. Just as 42 is the answer to life, the universe, and everything.

My score is higher than anyone who was involved in creating the IQ tests, so even if they could define what they were measuring how could they understand what a score higher than theirs actually means, since they wouldn’t have the “intelligence” to understand it?

Just a couple of things to think about.
