The Indianapolis Colts do not need to pipe any noise into the dome. The RCA dome is loud enough and small enough. I have been there a ton of times.

Regarding the myth of “piping noise,” here is what CBS News had to say about that unfounded rumor:

A day after some unusual sounds were heard during the Colts-Patriots broadcast Sunday, the NFL issued a statement saying what sounded like simulated crowd noise was actually created by the CBS production crew, not the Colts.
“CBS has informed us that the unusual audio moment heard by fans during the Patriots-Colts game was the result of tape feedback in the CBS production truck and was isolated to the CBS broadcast,” the league said. “It was in no way related to any sound within the stadium and could not be heard in the stadium.”

Late with reading the thread… but I am going to the Pats-Jets game in December. I can’t wait!

A tainted Super Bowl brings a smile to your face? Referees overstepping their bounds to guarantee a Pats win makes you happy?

I looked it up in the record book, and there was no reference to it being tainted. While I was there, I noticed how the Raiders went to th SB the following year and got absolutely humiliated, losing 48-21 to the Bucs.

Then, the year after that, and the year after that, the Pats took home Lombardi trophies, again.

How is it that refs calling the game exactly as the rules are written is “overstepping their bounds”?

Yeah, I was disappointed.

But my team lost to a great team.

Here are some key points:

1.) the Patriots defensive end Richard Seymour was a huge asset to the defense due to his pass rush. The Colts had Tony Ugoh sidelined for an injury, and Richard Seymour played an incredible pass rush game against an inexperienced substitute, causing big problems for Peyton Manning.

2.) the draw play was good for the Patriots, considering the Colts defense really shut down the Patriots run offense. But the draw play was used at critical moments, and it worked very well.

3.) Randy Moss is the central piece. He is very tall, and Brady is able to throw passes to him that only Moss can catch.

4.) Colts WR Marvin Harrison was a big loss, simply because rookie WR Gonzalez and Moorehead could not get the job done at all. Marvin may be shorter than Moss, but Marvin runs predictable, straight routes, and he is the prime “go-to-guy” for the Colts.

5.) The Patriots pass defense absolutely shut down Colts receiver Dallas Clark, who only caught 2 passes.

6.) Peyton Manning was pressured most of the game, with the Patriots only rushing 4 defensive guys. But Richard Seymour’s play-making abilities makes it seem like there were 11 guys rushing at once. Peyton Manning was out of sync.

The Colts lost to a great team.

Congratulations, Patriots.

Oh please. When Brady starts throwing teammates under the bus to explain yet another disappointing playoff loss or lobbies the NFL for rule changes or yells in the Press box to “Break his F’in leg” when the backup QB is in the game for the opponent and your team is winning 40-21, then you’ll have a legitimate complaint.

When the Refs call one of the worst officiated games in recent NFL history, you can yell at the Refs.

Take the highs while you can, because they will sustain you in the crappy times. Just think, your highs before this era were two Super Bowl losses. Now, it will probably be at least 4 wins.

New England fans had an 86 year-long drought to regain Baseball glory, we will go on no matter what happens when Brady transfers or retires. New Englanders are used to roughing it out.
