I, too, am proud to be an Oklahoman. My wife is a school teacher, and they've lost only a few students out of the school she teaches in. However, in my neighborhood school, they've lost a LOT of children. Their families are being forced to move out of state, due to these awesome laws.

And don't forget, we're the state that Senator Inhofe is from!

What a great state I live in!

It's more than tiresome to read how only brown skinned people are discriminated against ala La Raza. Do they discriminate against me being blond and blue eyed, or my niece of Japanese ancestry, my 5 nieces and nephews of mixed hispanic heritage (that do not speak spanish btw - oh horrors), cousins whose mother was Native American, or very close friends from India/China/Venezuela/Israel? Yes, they do discriminate against all of us - La Raza says it all. The skin color/tone has nothing to do with it. It's abundantly clear, many that are here illegally are racist against those that are citizens and/or naturalized because they value higher education, maintain traditional family values, pay their way and those of their offspring without benefit of welfare, assimilate and take pride in being an American. We have legal immigrants from all over the planet. You hear nothing from them, only those that are committed to reconquista.

My cousins of Native American heritage are from Oklahoma. I'm extremely proud to have some ties to the state, and they are praying the Supreme Court stays out of it. You see, their children are now expected to speak spanish - as are my nieces and nephews in CA that do not speak spanish either. Where is the sanity?

wish we could pass a law like this in California!

Bob's Kid on November 3, 2007 at 3:39 PM

In our dreams. Maybe my perspective is skewed, living 80 miles from the border but politicians don't seem inclined to take on illegals here. In fact no one who want's to feel halfway safe on the streets want to.

There's no law enforcement here only those who come to the crime scene after the fact to write reports and proudly call themselves cops. This once great nation is changing dramatically a few miles at a time. Soon all that we once recognized will be gone. Get ready Kansas and Missouri, they're coming your way and they are easy to identify because they only speaks Spanish, suck up welfare and Emergency Room space like there's no tomorrow and have an inflated oppinion of their value. (they only do jobs that Americans won't do.... yeah right. )

I was under the impression that my Russian bride to be will get citizenship after the nuptuals.
?

bbz123

If you marry a foreigner, or have a foreign fiance, They go into a special queue for legal resident ( green card ) status ... wait time is less than one year, usually.

The quickest way to screw this up permanently is to have your new spouse enter illegally, or overstay a tourist visa.

What about them? The 2,500 American Citizens who are killed every year by illegal aliens are somebody's children.

In GA we have some local communities taking firm action, most notably Cobb County, a metro Atlanta suburb, and recently we are seeing the effects. There have been increased arrests of MS13 members in adjacent counties and anectodal evidence indicates it is because our strong stance that they are not able to gain a foothold here. The Cobb county sheriffs department had to gothrough special trining from ICE which now enables them to check the immigration status of people arrested. I was flabbergasted when I found out that local law enforcement was not allowed to enquire about or act upon any information related the immigration status of suspects without this training.
The county did bactrack on some ordanances after the courts ruled the laws passed in Hazelton were not constitutional and the ACLU is constantly threathening to bring lawsuits, not with the intention of winning so much as draining the county treasury. If they win great but their main goal is to make it too expensive for local municipalities to take action.

“I know 25,000 or more of my Latino people have been afraid and they have left this state,” Rivera said.”

That would be a good thing if they left the state to go back to Mexico, but unfortunately until the 49 other states in the union pass similiar strict laws those 25,000 will just move to a neighboring sanctuary state/city.

We need this law in all 50 states and let them pack it back home to Mexico, it's obviously that's where they have their allegiance anyway!

As for the lady with the kid, as others have stated, too bad, so sad, next time don't marry an illegal, now STFU and move to Mexico! Also, how was she allowed to marry an illegal anyway, I thought INS closed the marriage loophole years ago? We shouldn't allow immigrants to marry until they are legal citizens, either that or they can take their spouse to-be to their country of origin and marry them there!

No more anchor babies/marriages!

The news media mentioned a crying parent who blames the government focus on "rule of law" for the anticipated emotional anguish of her children, if her illegal husband is deported.

But bad parents make bad choices daily in America. Let us face it: bad parents often make bad choices, and sadly it's the kids who suffer. But this is true of other crimes that occur in America.

Why should the government reward law-breakers, simply because they are parents?

Two Catholic priests are comparing illegal immigrants to Oklahoma’s early settlers in a new twist to arguments against deporting the illegals to Mexico and other counties.

“You are beginning a new page in the 100-year Boomer-Sooner legacy,” said Chapman, pastor of the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Oklahoma City. “We are so proud of our legal-illegal heritage. We’ve got to find a way to incorporate that into our laws in Oklahoma.”

Oklahoma “defines itself by those who settled here illegally,” said Wolf, pastor of mostly Spanish-speaking parishes in Duncan.

False Advertising is the correct name that is applied to "any religious authority" that claims so-called support from the Bible in defense of illegal immigration.

It is "not Christian" to advocate the breaking of a nation's laws. It is "not Biblical" to reward people who break the laws with the gift of USA citizenship.

Defending Illegal immigration is not a Christian idea. Rather, a defense of illegal immigration is, rather, a pagan one, because it stems from anarchy, and not the rule of law. Illegal immigration encourages law-lessness and anarchy.

Try as an American pulling that in UK, Canada or anywhere else, and they’ll boot you out as it should be. You are a guest in another person’s country.

I don't hate Fred. I am disgusted by him because of the type of people he associates with. He is unelectable because of those associations. I have no room to give on Fred.

We don't have one single candidate that passes the conservative smell test, but we do have two that may be able to defeat whoever the dems nominate. My goal is to find the best electable rep we can find. And if that means Rudy isn't as tough as I want him to be on immigration, well then I'll have to fight him just like I did Bush this past summer.

As an Oklahoman resident, I am very proud of the state government. The rest of you guys can learn a thing or two about Sooner pride, and about getting the job done. My only gripe about the coverage of the whole thing is that it is NOT about immigration, but ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. One is lawful, and one is not.

It ain't perfect, but it is a work in progress.

I think everyone of them should go back to their country of origin and get in the frappin line like law abiding immigrants do.

csdeven on November 3, 2007 at 5:56 PM

Rudy does not think that way. All available information would not lead any sane person to think that attrition through enforcement is something Rudy would ever do. For all his I can stop illegal immigration rhetoric not one peep about internal enforcement. Only "a path to citizenship", if you can swallow that then you can vote for Rudy in the primary guilt free.

To assimilate immigrants you need to stem the tide. We flipped between Western and Eastern Europe. Never giving either a period longer than 20 years for large scale immigration. After 40 years of unabated immigration, legal and illegal from Latin America, the smart thing to do is to close the door. It would do wonders to help assimilate our current crop assimilate. Has Rudy given you any indication in any speech or any statement that he would support doing such a thing?

Sorry one more thing on the assimialtion front, has Rudy said anything to make you believe he supports making English the official language of the United States? Besides "I love New York it is like a foreign country"

Rudy has so many unanswered questions on immigration. What is his position on family reunification? Temporary workers, and how these workers will qualify for legal permanent residency, and when they do how many of their relatives are they able to bring with them. Seriously man what is the prize for picking fruit and laying drywall? Rudy seems to be for his lack of having a stance against these things, all for them. He wants poor immigrants to come here. Yet it is poor uneducated Hispanic immigrants that do not assimilate and have kids that do not assimilate. The rate of Hispanics that speak english in the home has not risen and even gone slightly backwrds.

Too many immigration questions for me to vote for Rudy. You may hate Fred but without him in the race I would be in a bad way. His stance on illegal immigration is the only one that makes sense.

But we definitely need to get a clear feel for what he will do in regards to illegal immigrant enforcement. We need to find out what they all will do.

The tubby broad in the sloppy t-shirt gets no sympathy from me. One ought to know a little bit about the legal status of their mate before they sire a child. Her situation is the end result of her irresponsible behavior.

My guess is she isn't married to the criminal as she didn't call him her husband, soooo with her alluring style, impecable social grace, and charming composure, I'm sure she'll have no trouble finding another drunk weed whacker to shack up with.
