Clinton said the letter was written 5 years ago asking the archives to release information faster than they normally would.

Couldn’t they just ask Sandy Berger to walk in and grab the archives for them?

With respect to easing section 2204(a)(5), information should generally be considered for withholding only if it contains:
7. communications directly between the President and the First Lady, and their families, unless routine in nature;

If all that is true, I don’t think it was a fair question to ask Hillary. It hid too much background information and didn’t really have anything to do with current day issues.

Hillary will be the easiest candidate for Republicans to defeat, so anyone who wants a Republican to win in 2008 should not attack her too much until she has the nomination locked up.

I was exagerating a bit – her own rapsheet, plus the socialist agenda she pushes is enough evidence for what I suggest.
There is enough to beat her on in several arenas – she is unqualified in so many ways. I just hope that all Hell gets unloaded on this woman before the election. I want to see her debated, exposed, Swift-Boated, and defeated. It’s time certain people not be shy and do their country a service.

Finding derogatory information or pics is not the right approach. Beat her on the issues and don’t use those tactics. they tend to backfire.

Slick will not work in 2008.

I agree with you on this. It appears that at least some of the records will be released in early 2008. Not all but enough to do some damage in the general – maybe throw a glitch or two into the primaries but not very likely.

One thing that really burns my oil is Clinton’s tactic of trying to elicit agreement for what he says by asking the press to validate what he’s saying while he is saying it. In this instance, he was trying to gull someone into verifying what Russert specifically said while there was little chance the reporters would have had Russert’s remarks in hand so that they could check them on the fly.
I first noticed Clinton using this strategy during his first press conference after the immolation of 83 people at Waco, TX.
