Video: The Hillary “pile-on” continues

Earlier Allah linked John Edwards’ effective anti-Hillary ad. All the Edwards camp had to do to toast Hillary was to take quotes of hers spaced a few minutes apart and play them next to each other. The resulting picture is of a Hillary that can’t or won’t — take your pick, since she’s a Clinton — answer straightforward questions straightforwardly. The ad strikes squarely. Maybe Edwards learned to fight women while watching his wife fight his own battles against Ann Coulter. Or maybe Mrs. Edwards came up with the Hillary ad. It’s hard to imagine Silky landing such a solid punch on his own.
Anyway, even the NYT is savaging Clinton, quoting everyone from the overly mild-mannered Barack Obama to its own Ruth Marcus to make the point that the after-debate “they’re ganging up on me” argument is making Hillary look weak. And it is. Imagine her using that argument when Chavez, Ahmadinejad and Assad get together to pull a stunt against her as POTUS. Kiss American credibility good-bye.
If Clinton is losing the New York Times, it will eventually show up in the polls.
The RNC has an ad of its own based on Hillary’s debate debacle. Together with Edwards’ ad, it’s effective. Both will be useful once Hillary finishes dispatching with the rest of the Democrat field.

ewwww, it’s gettin’ good.

I have to wonder if all the attacks won’t give her some sympathy by making her into the underdog. If thats the case maybe the repubs should let the dems do most of the attacking.
I mean, right now they should be fighting to see who gets to run as president on the republican ticket. I am pretty sure Hilary is not on that ticket, so bringing her up in one of their debates is a bit disengenious. It is like Hillary bringing up Bush so often. Bush is not running, so why does it look as if she is running against him?

The William Tell Overture?
bnelson44 on November 2, 2007 at 3:14 PM
1812.
Bryan on November 2, 2007 at 3:15 PM
Thanks. The brits burned down Washington during that war.
bnelson44 on November 2, 2007 at 3:16 PM
Kamp Klinton publishes photos of Obama with Brittany, Edwards at Le Bare’s, and Gore’s thermostat set at 68 deg….she climbs back in the lead.
Limerick on November 2, 2007 at 3:17 PM
Well it’s official…the new Hillary Clinton campaign theme song.
Slublog on November 2, 2007 at 3:17 PM
True, but the overture is about the French invasion of Russia.
Bryan on November 2, 2007 at 3:17 PM
This makes me want her to win the nomination even more.
tikvah on November 2, 2007 at 3:18 PM
I get what you are saying, but I don’t think the sympathy card will work well for someone running for President of the U.S. This type of piling-on is nothing compared to what she’ll get if she’s elected. I think most voters understand that (at least I hope they do).
Rick on November 2, 2007 at 3:20 PM
The multiple positions in the same debate approach is good. If Edwards himself weren’t so vulnerable on Iraq, he could try something even more forceful on her poll-following shifts over longer periods. I don’t think a Republican would need to feel similarly constrained.

LOL Thats a good one!
abinitioadinfinitum on November 2, 2007 at 3:21 PM
Bryan, I am trying to find a tie in here…
bnelson44 on November 2, 2007 at 3:22 PM
Only one word comes to mind when I think of Silky attacking Hillary: Catfight!
JammieWearingFool on November 2, 2007 at 3:22 PM
I can’t take any more happiness!
Bwahahaha!!!
csdeven on November 2, 2007 at 3:27 PM
And if La Raza burns it down again we’ll get just as pissed off as we did then too.
Speakup on November 2, 2007 at 3:31 PM

the Pantsuit vs. Silky. Interesting, they sort of have the same hairstyle.
Rick on November 2, 2007 at 3:35 PM
Comedy gold.
Not same night, same debate, same question.

Whoop-ass in the first degree. Love it.
portlandbob on November 2, 2007 at 3:40 PM
If she wins the demo’s nomination, this is nothing like what will be thrown at her by the Republicans. Just wait, the best is yet to come.
Wade on November 2, 2007 at 3:41 PM
Indeed. Imagine Golda Meir, Benazir Bhutto, Indira Gandhi or Margaret Thatcher playing the “…ganging up on ‘poor me little girl’” card.
Be forwarned – she’d be much easier to beat in the general than Obama or Edwards.
Entelechy on November 2, 2007 at 3:42 PM
“Slick Hillary”, I love it.
I see that on a bumper sticker soon.
BacaDog on November 2, 2007 at 3:53 PM
Bryan, I’m not so sure. Once someone smells blood, they’ll go after it. This is only the tip of the iceberg. As long as she continues to play both sides of the fence, she’ll get called on it. We can only hope that we’ll see more Tim Russert-like moderators in these debates in the future. What’s also nice about this is that the drive-by media didn’t seem to ignore it, which is exactly what we need.

It’s Alive
abinitioadinfinitum on November 2, 2007 at 4:09 PM
The Democrats themselves will make the very best Republican ads.
drjohn on November 2, 2007 at 4:13 PM
I don’t want to hear the adjective “slick” in conjunction with Hillary EVER AGAIN.
/shudder
Harpazo on November 2, 2007 at 4:29 PM
I think Obama nailed her when he pointed out that he did not think people were ganging up on him due to his clear difference with the rest of the candidates….
Bwa-ha-ha-ha!
There is NO COMEBACK to that line!
Babs on November 2, 2007 at 4:30 PM
Don’t crow too loudly. I have a feeling our guys are about to open a serious can of whoop-a$$ on each other as they enter the home stretch before the first primaries. I’m sure they’ll be providing the Dems with some great fodder, not to mention a pre-battered and bloodied Republican nominee when the real race starts. If the vituperation that is common on conservative blogs is any indication, the Republican candidates and their supporters are very likely to turn on each other like a pack of rabid dogs by December.
aero on November 2, 2007 at 4:30 PM
My hunch in that this is the only time in her life she’s ever had multiple positions with any man let alone several.
Alden Pyle on November 2, 2007 at 4:31 PM
Gag at that thought ;P
abinitioadinfinitum on November 2, 2007 at 4:37 PM
It might just be the right time to call in Bill. Have him squint his eyes and flex his cheek muscles (facial), and claim that he never had sex with her.
Hening on November 2, 2007 at 4:40 PM
The media used to marvel at Bill Clinton’s ability to look the camera in the eye and lie with the conviction of an edict from God. That talent is not transferable. The Ms. has neither the brains nor the talent to pull off that ‘lie with impunity’. The end.
tarpon on November 2, 2007 at 4:52 PM
As far as I can tell Hillary has maintained one consistent position…Legs slightly apart, Head up @55
ronsfi on November 2, 2007 at 4:58 PM
I suppose it’s just a matter of time before we see a “You leave Hillary alone!” video on Youtube.
CurtZHP on November 2, 2007 at 4:59 PM
Delicious!!!!!!!!! This is gonna fun!!!!!!!!!
Winebabe on November 2, 2007 at 5:07 PM
“Psychobiography of Hillary Clinton.”
For what it’s worth. Conclusions: Her parents screwed her and she’s a loon.

Seek and ye shall find
abinitioadinfinitum on November 2, 2007 at 5:56 PM
It was only a matter of time. About 0.2 seconds apparently.
CurtZHP on November 2, 2007 at 5:59 PM
‘ol Bill will be out in short order to bring her back.
Mark my words, Bill Clinton will appear soon to assure the little people of the press that HE will be running things from the background.
gary on November 2, 2007 at 6:04 PM
Good one.
asc85 on November 2, 2007 at 6:10 PM
Nah the name is Billary!
Only worse.
Bill and his friggin party life while she tries to bend our country around…man you dont want that crap people.
johnnyU on November 2, 2007 at 7:31 PM
If you’re interested in the French invasion of Russia you should see Love and Death. I just watched it last night, its a very funny send-up of that war and Russian literature generally.
aengus on November 2, 2007 at 8:13 PM
The press may know that she is way too tainted to even have a chance in the general election, so they are bailing on her early to flush her out of the system.
TheSitRep on November 2, 2007 at 8:17 PM
Yup. Its going to a mad eight years I can tell you that.
aengus on November 2, 2007 at 8:18 PM
What will Hillary Clinton do if she lose the Presidential election?
Kralizec on November 2, 2007 at 10:55 PM
Gee Hillary, how many pounds of friggin makeup did you need to look so smooth? I can hardly see your dents in your face.
johnnyU on November 3, 2007 at 12:24 AM
