New Jihad Watch: Creating “dialogue”
posted at 8:00 am on November 2, 2007 by Allahpundit
In Part 3 of Robert’s look at the UK’s “Islam is Peace” campaign, he takes on the second point: “To create dialogue.” A close look reveals that the campaign is really focused on creating a monologue.
Don’t forget to read Robert’s excellent Blogging the Qur’an series, with new posts arriving each Sunday morning.

Honestly I am just tired of hearing what these muslims have to say. I don’t want to understand them, I don’t want to dialog with them, I don’t want to know what makes them tick, I just want to defeat them and their evil ways.
And before someone comes along and says you have to know your enemy in order to defeat them that is a myth. We didn’t need to study the platforms of the Nazi party to defeat them. We didn’t need to know the proper protocal of a tea cerimony to defeat the Japanese and we don’t need to know what these what jobs believe in order to defeat them either.
Sorry, just so tired of hearing about what the muslims think, seems kind of like them getting what they want, everyone talking about their false religion.

As always, Spencer is on target.

Awesome. This series deftly dismembers this aggressive muslim ‘newspeak’ campaign with surgical skill.
Key: racism is not part of the argument because muslims are not a race, monologue does not equal dialog & typical absence of condemnation for violence in the name of islam.
Robert Spencer: making the complex understandable. Deal with it, Rush.

As I see it, the so many people that want to “dialog” with them stand in the way of those who understand that defeating them is paramount. Those who understand the threat do not seem to have the numbers on their side. So, you have to “dialog” in such a way as to convince the ones who act as roadblocks that defeating the threat is the only option. Is this a reasonable analysis?

Excellent job, Mr. Spencer, thank you.

Hmmmmmm, Jihad Watch is blocked by my school filter. It is classified as an “Extremist Group”.

Mr Spencer is the fulcrum of the islamic issue. Mr. Spencer is also the only one that I have found that personifies the true meaning of Islam.

oi please i beg you tell me that’s NOT a college or university? bad enough if it’s secondary or primary school…

Exactly. Great post and thank you. The only thing we should wish to know about the enemy is its position and military strength.

Well done again Mr. Spencer. Logic doesn’t seem to be one of the Muslim strong suits. We would not need a campaign for them to tell us that Islam is peace if it actually were. Thanks for your work.

Can I draw an editorial cartoon of Mohammad as my half of the dialogue?

I am a huge fan of Dr. Daniel Pipes, who, much like Robert Spencer, is both profoundly educated in his field as well as civil and thoughtful in their views. But one thing about Dr. Pipes’ views has failed to take root in my mind; specifically, his repeated belief that Islamofascism is the problem and moderate Islam is the solution.
Having spent 4 years in Saudi Arabia and read quite a lot on this and related subjects, I cannot comprehend the notion of moderate Islam.
More and more, I am coming to regard Robert Spencer as the best proponent of why the West should stop cowtowing to a bunch of duplicitous, disingenuous hate-mongerers.

So if we can just recognize and overcome our own racism and Islamophobia, the beheadings, kidnappings, bombings, hijackings, riots and car fires will stop?
saint kansas on November 2, 2007 at 2:13 PM
Thank you Robert Spencer! If it really was the ‘religion of peace’ they wouldn’t need to launch big expensive campaigns to convince everyone… instead they’d be the ones quietly being persecuted, sort of like what’s happened (and continuing to happen) to the Buddists and Christians in predominantly muslim countries and areas now.

“religion of peace.” They keep using these words. I do not think it means what they think it means.
Wonderful job, as always Mr. Spencer!

Please go to Robert’s site and let him know about this. He has been having a lot of trouble with some filters and has asked that readers keep him informed so he can sort things out.

Over at Gates of Vienna, the Baron has posted a thread where a Georgia television station examines the Jamaat ul Fuqra camps established in that state. The reporter has sound bites of Sheik Gilani (founder of JF) mentioning needed ‘dialogue’ between Muslims, Jews and Christians. All involved in that televised report should see this tape by Robert Spencer.

Mr. Spencer is always so calm and intelligent. It’s hard to understand how people can misunderstand him.

Another great Jihad Watch from Robert. The islamist want dialog as long as you do not disagree with their plan to rule the world. Simple.
Thanks for the video Bryan.

And really, how lame are all these accusations of Islamophobia? To believe them, you must accept that people have not gained a bad perception of Muslims from Sep 11, the train bombings, disco bombings, terrorist snuff videos, Muslim hate speech & literature, and all the aborted terror plots but rather because they’re just racists.
They use such demagogic rhetoric to distract from the legitimate issues because Islam can not be defended rationally.
To show how brazen the lying is, the Saudis maintained for months after Sep 11 that the Saudi suicide skyjackers were innocent travellers who had been accused after the fact by racist Americans. It’s not just a lie, it’s bad and clumsy lie that is not even plausible.
