I suppose they could have put the only two black Iowans in the ad, but that would be pandering to a rather small minority. Seriously, blacks only make up 2.3% of Iowa’s population–not enough to make much of an impact in the primaries. Edwards is better off trying to con gullible white seniors into believing that the government would be better at handling their health care than the private sector (like how the US Postal Service is better at shipping packages overnight than FedEx), and that his plan is superior to those of his opponents. Perhaps Edwards should prove his conviction by outsourcing his wife’s care to Cuba, where doctors are flown in from other countries to administer care to dignitaries like Fidel while regular folks (the lucky ones, anyway) receive inept treatment in understaffed, ill-equipped, and unsanitary facilities that would be condemned if they existed in the US.

I don’t for one instant believe that Dodd is capable of bringing Republicans and Democrats together. Dodd is a total partisan hack. For instance, consider his efforts to undermine Reagan’s foreign policy in the 80’s. Biden and Richards, on the other hand, may be able to make some deals.

I have cared for my child with cerebral palsy without any help from you for 22 years and plan on doing so without future help from you or your party. I don’t need you to interject yourself into the healthcare decisions of my family. I am sorry you spent 12 hours in a hospital and heard really bad news there are families out there that spends months at a time in hopsitals getting nothing but bad news. Get over yourself and go sue someone. You made yourself by taking advantage of children like my son.

He promises to throw other people’s money at the problems that minorities face today – not to hire them… I also recall Kerry had a bunch of white guys traveling with him wherever he went back in ‘04 (and no one “of color”).
