Monday Night Football open thread: Packers at Broncos Updated

posted at 8:00 pm on October 29, 2007 by Bryan

Favre takes the 5-1 Pack to Denver to take on the .500 Broncos. Believe it or not, in his entire career Favre has never thrown at TD pass in Denver. The Packers run offense is nonexistent, so he’d better throw a few tonight.

Update: If you missed the game, here are the highlights.

That was an awesome end. Looks like I decided to watch the right 10 minutes.

Not a good two days in Denver.

Ordinary1 on October 29, 2007 at 11:47 PM

For Denverinians anyway :-)

Ordinary1 on October 29, 2007 at 11:47 PM

The old man still has it in him.

I’d like to see them change the OT rule so both sides get at least one possession. Sure the Broncos should have stopped them to get the ball back. Still, I’d like to see something between the present rule and the college rule.

Stuart Scott is reason enough to turn the channel.

The fumble at the 1 killed Denver.

And why in the hell did Cutler run the ball on 3 and 1 from the 3 yard line of GB? He should have at least tried for the end zone. Shannahan is being a big idiot lately.

This, actually, is very truthful. The Mastermind has no tools in the box, and is left only with mirrors and smoke. This is not a very good Bronco team. And I say that as a Bronco fan from way before most of you were born.

Not a good two days in Denver.

I disagree entirely. Broncos losses we are used to.

However, the utter magic of the Rockies run to the WS was beyond belief and understanding. For weeks, I’ve tried to find a few words or a phrase to describe it, but there really is nothing that quite captures what they have done.

Let’s just say that for Rockies fans (and I was a die hard Denver Bears fan before all of this) and many other baseball fans in general, this magical run we experienced brought baseball back to life for a lots of people whose hearts had given up on the game.

It just kind of made be believe in the magic again. Colorado fans will always be blessed with the stories of this fall. And you know how that works with baseball. :)

As for the Sox, I have only two words: Nice Job.

Oh, yeah… two more words: You have become what you despised.

Thanks, Rockies, for a truly magical fall. And I mean that sincerely.

Hey Michael in MI. Earlier you used my post about the Colts/Pats game to take off on a comment about running up the score. You know I agree with you, right?! :-)

Ordinary1 on October 29, 2007 at 10:47 PM

Oh, yeah, I knew that. I was just using your comment to flow into my rant. :)

Brett Favre is still as amazing as ever. And the Pack ran the ball pretty effectively. The game took 10 years off my life!

packsoldier on October 30, 2007 at 1:32 AM

Heh,imagine telling Jack Lambert he had to take it easy on the opponent so they wouldn’t get their little feelings hurt?

Wrong Jack

The Donks uphold their usual MNF standard.

I didnt’ watch it. I’m still in therapy as a result of the Rockies poor performance.

I was beginning to make progress, and now this…

CliffHanger on October 30, 2007 at 10:34 AM

Bret Favre is the man!
Now I have to decide which of my two teams I root for each week (Pack and Chiefs) since they’re playing each other. I think this time I’ll take the Packers.

Was there ever any doubt? Nope. We’ll be seeing your Cryboys on Thursday the 29th Bryan.
