Video: “Internet Stars Are Viral”
posted at 1:08 pm on October 26, 2007 by Allahpundit
I feel about this the way I do about the Iranian military pageant from this morning: impressed by the planning and logistics, but ultimately nauseated by the content. Submitted for your disapproval: the detritus of American culture, compacted into a three-and-a-half minute block like a crappy old car in a junkyard compressor.
Ed Driscoll says he liked this better the first time he saw it, but I got 90% of the references in that earlier clip and maybe 20% here. Give ‘em credit: these boys did their homework.

P.S. 20% is about right. This is more of Sub-Viral stuff.

Much better music. Much much much better on that end.
I got about 70%
I hope this is the last song like this. Knowing the internet though…

This was okay, but Internet People was much better. I still like to watch that one, but this one won’t need a repeat viewing.
I really love this odd stuff that celebrates the Internet culture, though; imagine trying to explain any of this to someone in the year 1950.

Got about 30%. Oh well. I think I feel good about that.

Next time they will include the Iranian military parade. Now that’s entertainment!

Bad Candy on October 26, 2007 at 2:33 PM
I only knew techno-viking because one of my fellow Ace morons linked it at his blog a few weeks ago.
Bad Candy on October 26, 2007 at 2:34 PM

I couldn’t make out the words. Why couldn’t they enunciate as clearly as Bill Joel. That is not asking too much when the lyrics are so important.
jihadwatcher on October 26, 2007 at 3:16 PM
I hate that Billy Joel song, I’m sorry, I always have. I never realized it could get any cheesier. Looooove me some Star Wars kid though.

It’s sort of a “cool-meter” for the Internet. I’m afraid I only got about a third of it. Not cool eh?
Mojave Mark on October 26, 2007 at 4:40 PM
I recognized way too much for my own good.

Average people can throw to together better entertainment with a pair of socks, a magic marker, a cup of soup and a video camera than the majority of high paid so called professional snobs in Hollywood!
JellyToast on October 26, 2007 at 9:15 PM
This should be AP’s themesong.
