“Grant writing” — I first heard that phrase about 25 years ago, when somebody I went to college scored a job at a non-profit. There are people who do almost nothing else for a living, except to sit around writing grants seeking either taxpayer money or foundation money to support whatever useless boondoggle they want to foist on an unwilling world.

If there is no legitimate market demand for something — e.g., photos of crucifixes in urine, radical feminist “performance art,” ethanol — an army of grant-writers stands ready to solicit funding to force it down our throats.

“Looters,” Ayn Rand called them.

Nice catch on that one, but if you look at all the places this tour has hit this week the thing to look for is all the other groups that have led the charge and did all the organizing against the speakers involved.

A summation of all that and how they link together would make an excellent post to expose how they work.
