We spent an entire summer last year catching up on all the shows. Once we finished and the past season was over, we needed another “fix”. An earlier commenter was dead on with “Deadwood”. It is awesome! Problem is, we watched all its episodes on DVD and now need a new fix. Reckon we’ll try “Dexter”.

Alas, it’s true. I’m on the Season 3 DVD. Does it go downhill from here?

The wife and I just started season 5 (just finished the first DVD). We’ve loved it all so far.

Yes, the latest season opened with a plotline revolving around evil right-wing ultra-patriots trying to save the country from the leftists. That old chestnut.

Now if only 24 had the Malkins to take on CAIR and Islamofascists in the same forthright, honest manner as Sir Doughnut…sigh.

I could handle plots like Season 4 and 5, where “someone else” is behind the actions of the Islamofascists, if only there were plots that also recognized that sometimes, a cigar is really just a cigar, as it were (i.e., sometimes the Islamofascists really do evil things just because they want to, and for no other reason).

But that would be expecting far too much from Hollyweird in general, and from the same studio that was responsible for the climate change fantasy “The Day After Tomorrow”.

Seasons 2 and 4 are the best. I hated 3 but I have friends who think it was the best (all women who think that…not sure why).

Five wasn’t bad. Last season was weak.

Now I’m hooked on Dr. Who. Billie Piper is the bees knees.

Um yeah I think I might watch this season. Last season could not keep my interest maybe catching it mid series is not a good thing.

I discovered the series through Rush two years ago. I rented series 1-4 and thought I’d found my TV-heaven. I hate all that other junk. I have no idea why this program appeals to me. I think because I can see that the events are truly plausible.

I do wish Nina would *appear* again. There was chemistry there!! And Chloe is great. Too bad she keeps ending up with nerds or dummies. Tony…well, I never really liked him.

My own personal opinion is that season 3 is the best. The last 12-13 hours picks up momentum like a boulder rolling down a hill, and you really get a sense of the threat.

Alas, I don’t think it’s ever been as good since then, although season 5 was certainly worth watching.

Of course, take it with a grain of salt, if you ask 6 different people which of the seasons of 24 were the best, it would not be surprising to get 6 different answers.

To be fair, a lot of commenters read every page or check in for the comments to see if a good conversations going on. I read most of the stories posted, even if it isn’t necessarily something I’m interested in.

I liked season 4 alot, has a good Patriot Act episode and shows how terrorist can use the ACLU/Amensty International, they call it “Amnesty Global” in the show, and how the terrorist use them to their advantage if needed.

Tony Almeida was my favorite character, but it’s a pretty desperate attempt by the producers to bring about some of the 5 million viewers they lost with last season’s debacle. I don’t know how you come back from getting fatally stabbed in the neck, but whatever. And coming back as a bad guy? Then it isn’t the same Tony.

But some red flags for you all, all news from this past summer:

1. Their unprecedented campaign to combat global warming
2. The announcement of a female president
3. Jeneane Girafolo becoming a part of the cast

Can’t wait for the new season.
