Turbin Durbin’s DREAM Act has more lives than a slasher flick villain. The illegal alien amnesty in disguise will be up for a cloture vote tomorrow morning.
Here’s the Senate switchboard number. Let’s make some noise.

Democracy in action. I guess I have to start a’callin.
pullingmyhairout on October 23, 2007 at 12:11 PM
My Senators are Hillary Clinton and Chuck Schumer. I think I’ll go pee into an avalanche instead of calling. I stand a better chance of making a difference.

I called and got right through…to Senator Cornyn’s office. What’s a constituent to do? I registered my objection to the Dream Act then got to say some nice stuff about my Senator.
RushBaby on October 23, 2007 at 12:15 PM
Well, I felt stoopid calling, but Demint is absolutely going to kill this bill…again. On to Cindy, er, I mean Grahmnesty.

Lindsey’s office says he doesn’t have an official position but they believe he is going to vote against it.

We need an organized conservative group, similar to MoveOn, where we can donate and be members. Then this group can behave like MoveOn, and say that any Republican congressperson who supports this monstrosity will be targeted with the full force of the organization for defeat in the next election. We just don’t have that power now. The phone calls and pressure from talk radio and the blogs helps, but we don’t have that one unifying presence that MoveOn brings to the radical left.
RW Wacko on October 23, 2007 at 12:34 PM
All the Dems have to do is eliminate all laws. Then there would be no illegal law breakers.
infidel on October 23, 2007 at 12:37 PM
Fred’s gonna fix all of this. Just wait for the video!!!
Dread Pirate Roberts VI on October 23, 2007 at 12:44 PM
Apparently threateing them by voting them out of office doesn’t seem to scare them much anymore. Either that or they are used to the phone system crashing and don’t seem to be bothered by it.
Lets face it seems the only way shamnesty will die is if Congress finaly sees a mob with pitchforks and torches marching at them to drive the point home. Maybe then they’ll “get it”.

Demographics is our problem. This country is eventually going latino, the Republicans just think it’s already happened.
PRCalDude on October 23, 2007 at 1:13 PM
Yeah, you may be right. It may be too late, already. We had such an opportunity in 2000 to start to turn things around and the ‘pubs blew it, big time. Will never have that opportunity again, most likely.
RW Wacko on October 23, 2007 at 1:18 PM
I never cease to be amazed at my own generousity as seen through the eyes of the Democrats.
They seem to think I’m endlessly willing to sacrifice my own self interest to pacify any and all victims they can identify.
Or, I guess they could be thinking I’m an ox they can bleed for their breakfast while I keep plowing the field.
NellE on October 23, 2007 at 1:31 PM
The irony is that a significant number of Latinos are also values voters. And just like the GOP is loosing their historical core values voters, they are loosing Latino values voters as fast as they are gaining them through “undocumented” immigration.
In the interest of progressive democratic freedom, why can’t those darn Christians just shut up?
{sigh}
I actually heard someone say that the other day.
Lawrence on October 23, 2007 at 1:35 PM
I’m mean “losing”… not “loosing”… sorry.
Lawrence on October 23, 2007 at 1:35 PM
The Dems are bringing in illegal aliens to testify about how the Dream Act (gag) would help them. WTF!?!?!!?!? Deport their asses!!!! What in the hell is wrong with this country!?!?!
RW Wacko on October 23, 2007 at 1:40 PM
It’s a shame we have to hit our employees over the head again. We don’t want illegal aliens in this country. Period!

I called Sens. Coleman and Klobochar from MN. Twenty minutes after having done so, I get a letter from Coleman regarding the Dream Act. The S.O.B. is sympathizing with the illegals’ kids. I expected the same from Klobochump and got the repsonse from her staff that she would support it. It’s secession time, I’m thinkin’! Oh, and Coleman is the reason I have strong suspicions about Guiliani, it’s the Brooklyn water, I swear.
MNDavenotPC on October 23, 2007 at 1:59 PM
Lugar (R-IN) is one of the guys sitting in on the meeting with the illegals. I’m a registered republican in the state and I let them have it.
Black Adam on October 23, 2007 at 2:11 PM
Just emailed both Richard Burr and Elizabeth Dole. Will call them later today.

I AM SO MAD.
I just called both my senators- Bill Nelson and Mel Martinez.
I couldn’t get through to their D.C. offices. Nelson has a busy line and Martinez had a full voice mail. I called them at one of their state offices.
I had two questions:
How are you going to vote?
Do we still have a representative government in D.C. or a dictatorship?
Nelson’s office said vote would be Yes.
Martinez’ office said they didn’t know (yeah, right, I thought).
I also asked them how many times I was going to have to call about this. I blistered their ear in both offices, especially because we have a daughter in college (a legal citizen) in our state.
I also read back to Martinez’ office quotes from this page from his campaign promise, and reminded them I knew the page had been taken down but I knew how to search for it. (I have done this before!!!)
Any of you from Florida, here it is:

Thanks a bunch! I’m in Tampa and will use this and call Mel’s offices.
RW Wacko on October 23, 2007 at 3:19 PM
RW Wacko, you’re welcome.
INC on October 23, 2007 at 3:27 PM
Martinez’s mailbox in Washington is full, so I assume the word is out and our side is manning the phones. I’m trying the local offices now.
RW Wacko on October 23, 2007 at 3:28 PM
No one’s picking up the phones. Either they are flooded, or they are tired of getting yelled at b/c he is voting yes. Knowing Mel, it’s the latter.
RW Wacko on October 23, 2007 at 3:35 PM
I could not believe the lack of attention that this is getting? I called WCBM in Baltimore MD this morning and asked the guy who answered the phone why they were talking about Christmas and Coors as opposed to urging people to call the Senate this morning. Unreal!
I hope this doesnt make it through the Senate.

Maryland’s two losers are voting for cloture.

I can’t tell you for sure which way she’ll vote… but she votes against America every chance she gets…
Kaptain Amerika on October 23, 2007 at 5:04 PM
I’m at a loss for words. No one is talking about this. None of my conservative friends have heard about this. Apparently getting little to no play on talk radio. One thread at HotAir with with 30+ comments, one post at MM.com, buried down somewhere. What the hell!?!?!!? Guess they wore us down, finally. Oh well, I suppose we will deserve the god knows how many millions of new citizens we will get in the next ten years from this backdoor amnesty program. In case anyone doesn’t know, upon graduation these illegals will get a green card. After five years they can apply for citizenship. Which means their brothers, sisters, mother and father, and any children can come, and of course spouse if they didn’t come already on the basis of the green card. Then add the spouses family….then the wives/husbands of all the brothers/sisters, then their mother/fathers and brothers and sisters. DISASTER! Massive fraud waiting to happen, too.
RW Wacko on October 23, 2007 at 5:19 PM
McCaskill gets it right every now and then on immigration. Sucks on military issues, which is why I can’t stand her most of the time, though. But she voted to make English the national language, for example. She just may vote no, she trends anti-illegal most of the time.
RW Wacko on October 23, 2007 at 5:25 PM
I can’t wait to see how the presidential hopefulls vote on this… if they show up to vote at all.
