If the liberals like Spitzer would just be themselves and if we could just engineer a couple, hell no we won’t go marches a year from now, the election would be all Republican.

They go on to say that Hillary herself may be forced to reject Spitzer’s plan, but I think they’re underestimating the Glacier’s ability to avoid this particular iceberg.

She’ll do what Bill always did. Triangulate. She’ll denounce Spitzer’s plan while simultaneously proposing an ID plan of her own that makes it “fair” for everyone.

Here’s hoping this story doesn’t get much play and the Dems don’t decide to react until late Nov 2008.

Not “drift” Dusty. Fact! The election is in early November (first Tuesday?). No benefit to us after election. Better late October — too late for them to do anything effective about it.

legal immigrants get SS numbers. granted they come with a warning to employers stating they must check alien records before employing them…but they still get the number. this crap really is JUST for illegals…which is ridiculous.

I wouldn’t be too sure about that. There are enough Republicans who don’t seem to care.

But this issue could do unto Spitzer what it helped do unto Gray Davis. The Republicans just need to hold fast and don’t throw the man a life saver.

Unfortunately, given the state of the GOP in the last couple years, that means you can pretty much count on the Republicans doing something to throw the man a life saver.

Yup…which is why the Dembots oppose any laws requiring positive ID at polling places.

It’s too bad the suburbs won’t have much of an affect on the national race. It takes a lot of suburbs to make up for the big city votes.

But didn’t she pick up charisma every time she had sex with Bill? Didn’t that transfer some from him to her? Oh that’s right, that’s not what’s transfered and a few dozen times over the decades and maybe once in the last ten years wouldn’t have transfered much anyway, so never mind.

Here’s the problem facing us in 2008: we (bloggers and blog readers) are the only ones who care about things like this, or Hillary’s fundraising hanky-panky, or [insert pet peeve here].

Don’t hold your breath. I live near Buffalo. The story is similar in most areas upstate. Here’s the situation: The egregiously high taxes have driven out the public sector. Buffalo is about half the size it was 50 years ago. The City and County gov’ts are, for the most part, staffed as if they still had that population. Local gov’t is a HUGE employer around here, and political patronage is rampant. The Dems have nothing to fear.

Spitzer could burn the American flag while wiping his backside with a Buffalo Bills’ flag on the 6 o’clock news (y’know, the one the old folks watch) and the Republicans would be to blame.
