Video: Through the looking glass
posted at 8:46 pm on October 19, 2007 by Allahpundit
There hasn’t been nearly enough Friday stupid on this site today, unless you count the Harry Reid posts, in which case we’re over our quota. Here’s an idea that could have and should have been the nut for a really good Twilight Zone episode. As it is, thanks to the German narration, it’s got a nice gray this-way-lies-madness existential feel to it. Underneath all the stupid, that is.
Actually, I guess there was a pretty good TZ in this vein, wasn’t there?

I can’t believe Warner Bros Cartoons are finally making to Germany

Hahahaha.
Ahhh… the Germans.
I would love to see the reaction they would have gotten from men in the Men’s Room.

Actually, I’ve got to say, I found that too be hilarous… That KP quote I emailed on earlier was the “stupidest” thing I’ve heard all friday… Is that being saved for a special video edition of “Quote of the Day”? I won’t spoil if you’re planning on mocking her later.
RightWinged on October 19, 2007 at 8:57 PM
Well, that was a rare one that didn’t make me feel I needed to get some time back.
Pretty good.

OT: I almost got killed by joyriders last night. I was walking along a path by a green when out of nowhere a car came flying around up off the footpath onto the green spinning all over the area and just barely avoiding a crash. The driver and hi spassengers (who all looked about 14 years old) turned the car around so that it pointed towards me and I had the weirdest sensation that I was about to be murdered and froze out of shock. The driver shouted to me a mocking request for directions and then tore off onto the road (in a suburban neighbourhood) at about 100mpm. I rang the police. I hope they caught the bastards before they killed anyone.

Ahh, those crazy Europeans and their uni-sex bathrooms…
JetBoy on October 19, 2007 at 9:14 PM
It would have great to see the reaction of the people if the girl had told them about not being able to see youself in the mirror if you are dead.

The woman with the glasses was the best. Excellent find Allah.

I saw this on the sidebar of one of the headline links earlier, and thought about e-mailing it to you. But I didn’t. Sorry.

I’m a truther on this one. What kind of washroom/restroom has sinks but no toilets? And why would a guy walk in? And how come all the women looked like lesbians?
There is something the Bush government is not telling us.

It’s just good clean fun.

I bet you’d get the same reactions from chimpanzees as the Germans in this situation. Am I wrong?
Neo on October 20, 2007 at 2:06 AM
No,just a humorless prick.

“You must be a vampire” – great tag line.

They’re lucky they didn’t hit upon someone who would have come absolutely unglued at the prospect of not seeing themselves in the mirror.
I give credit to the doublemint twins who had to rehearse all of that, especially leaving the room in “reverse.”

and
twas a unisex bathroom.
Look at the sign in the end WC damen/herren. Which means bathroom (WC is the universal european sign for water closet) ladies/gentlemen.

Who was the uber geek with the goggles and antennae? Slight identity problem there?
Coronagold on October 20, 2007 at 6:53 AM
Those women didn’t look like lesbians; they looked like German women.
Qzsusy on October 20, 2007 at 8:27 AM
A very humorous situation.

Great Candid Camera stunt. Still am amased at the response of those that were caught with their ego’s down. How many times did they respond “Where am I” or “I must be special” etc.
What I thought was the most interesting, was how the sisters were able to maintain their composure through out the entire sequence. Even when they left in motion that was clearly different did not even get the attention of fellow attendees.
Maybe, this is the type of restroom that Sen. Craig should use more often.
MSGTAS on October 20, 2007 at 1:03 PM
If Hillary would have walked in she wouldn’t have even noticed something was wrong. LOL
By the way: I live in Germany, this is the washroom area. The men’s toilets are behind one door, and the ladies’ are behind another; only the sinks are a common area.

Or a famous deleted scene from a James Cameron movie – been there, done that. Though the gimmick is derivative, the improvisational effort is no small thing… well done.
Ah. So the Larry Craigs of the world are safe – no soliciting the wrong gender by accident.

The scene itself is included in its entirety here, at the end of the clip.
