Video: Colossal tool eats crap over Rush letter on Senate floor

It’s been up at Drudge for the past few hours so I don’t need to link it.

But I want to link it.

Said Rush of this pathetic, virtuoso exercise in milquetoast jackassery:

“Now he has the audacity to climb aboard this, praising the effort, saying he never knew it would get this kind of money,” Limbaugh said.

Directing his comments to Reid, Limbaugh said, “It wasn’t your letter that raised this money. It was your abuse of power that is responsible for raising this money.”

Quite so. If that’s not enough, the Neocon News site claims to have obtained a statement from the Eugene B. Casey Foundation, where winning bidder Betty Casey serves as a trustee. Take this with a grain of salt because it’s almost too good to be true:

The Eugene B. Casey Foundation believes freedom of speech is a basic right of every citizen of this country. The purchase of the smear letter was to demonstrate their belief in this right and to support Rush Limbaugh, his views, and his continued education of us.

Don’t ever change, Dingy. Click the image to watch.

Just took a look at that ABC post and the commentors in the thread are handing them their hat one small piece at a time.

Will add my two cents later when I catch up on a couple of things but ABC deserves every bit of grief they are catching from the commentors for the post they did.

CommentGuy on October 19, 2007 at 7:35 PM

As I stated earlier I can’t believe the left side blogs are actually thanking Rush for his apology for what Rush did wrong. Next thing I expect to see is them praising Reid for his support of the auction that raised all that money “for the children”

CommentGuy on October 19, 2007 at 7:39 PM

Well done Rush! You too Allah, great coverage.

If they really had the “Hillarys” they would all kick in and match that final bid. (for the good of the children don’t you know).

What do you think would be the chance of that?

It’s more likely that hundreds of Chinese immigrant busboys will start sending in the money.

pedestrian on October 19, 2007 at 7:55 PM

I did call Kohl’s office to ask this question, but the staffer was unwilling to speculate about Kohl’s logic and claimed that Kohl doesn’t issue statement about what he doesn’t do. Fair enough.

thuja on October 19, 2007 at 4:36 PM

thuja, Did the staffer happen to say he was presented the letter? If he had a choice to sign or not then not signing isn’t the same as just doing nothing and thereby not needing to comment to a constituent. In that case he made a choice and his office should answer your question about why he made that choice.

Damn…thanks for the tip “just a walking type person”. I never would have thought of that. You rekindled my hope in humanity buddy.

I need to take a nap or something now.

BTW more an more since the dems have taken power I am seeing signs of a split happening between the nutroot far left and the establishment dems. The roots are starting to say they have been played like fool by the dems to get them into power and now that the K Street money is starting to flow again the are doing things that some of the nutrooots is considering basically kicking them to the curb.

An example follows

We’ve now learned that the DCCC has actively recruited candidates to run against me. Frank Bruno, Volusia County Chairman, told them that he would not run against me because I would beat him and he doesn’t enjoy wasting his time and money. Suzann Kosmos, a millionaire and former Florida state house representative from Volusia County, has decided to run after the DCCC convinced her they’d help her win (a refrain I’m growing increasingly familiar with).

It’s no coincidence that the Congress, full of Rahm Emanuel’s hand-picked freshmen who back down to the Administration at every confrontation, has an approval rating of a mere 11%. The American people want much more than a legislature of partisans that never accomplish anything they were elected to do. The people want to have a say in government again. They want a representative with the backbone to stand up for them, who will not cave in to Republican aggression or pressure from our Democratic “leadership.” They want someone to take the lead in defense of their ideals and aspirations for what our country should, and can, be. That is what I intend to do– to bring leadership for a change to Washington.

Doesn’t look like all might be well in the Emerald City.

I saw a lot of this the last time around, most only heard about the Liberman face off with the nutroots candidate, but there were over a dozen other similar races that never made the headlines.

I saw several state races here in Florida that were part of the dust up.

What was happening was basically infighting between the NutRoots / Howard Dean side versus the Soros funded Rahm Emmanuel side. The divide is getting stronger all the time and right now I don’t see any signs they are getting ready to kiss and make up.

Media Matters is still pushing the Rush Lied soldiers cried story even though it has been just a smear from the git go and now they just released a new story on it slamming CNN for their coverage of the issue.

Reid looks like a kid getting a swirlie and, upon his head being pulled out of the crapper, exclaiming “Hey, that was great! We should do it again!”

Pablo on October 19, 2007 at 9:44 PM

EL RUSHBO’D!

Reid: “Ow, my credibility! …or lack thereof.”

ZK on October 19, 2007 at 9:55 PM

As promised earlier I went to ABC and made a comment about their story on Harry Reid and Rush Limbaugh.

Here is what I posted

The issues here.

Media Matters started the smear against Rush Limbaugh with a false assertion that he was denigrating troops based on opposition to the war.

Media Matters is at this very moment posting new items standing behind their flawed premise.

Media Matters is also still posting flawed premise items that Rush Limbaugh smeared the Frost family and in particular one of the children.

Harry Reid drafted a letter based on the false premise that was being put forward by Media Matters.

ABC even in the last version of their posting here does not state it’s an alleged issue about Rush, but their wording leaves it as an implied correct fact , which it is not.

By this action ABC is implicitly agreeing with the false assertion of Media Matters.

Mr Reid tries to claim some worthy link to the promotion for charitable contributions to a worthy organization he by his own admission had to research.

What I would like to see.

ABC post a revised version of this posting with clear and unambiguous notations of corrections or edits made to the original posting.

Forget donations by Harry Reid or the Dems. At this point they would only be motivated by shame for their poor choice of actions and not a true desire to give to the charity for the purpose it stands for.

What I want Mr Reid to do is as was earlier suggested by Mr Limbaugh for Harry Reid to step outside the legal protections of the well of the Senate for his words and come on Rush Limbaugh’s show and defend his position on the alleged interpretation of Mr Limbaugh’s remarks re “phony soldiers”.

I also wish a public apology by Mr Reid read into the Congressional Record in open session for all to see and hear.

I also want a public apology and retraction of the faulty analysis by Media Matters for their actions on this issue.

I would also want Mr Reid to regularly visit the Walter Reid Hospital for visits with our soldiers working through their injuries.

As he himself has noted on a broadcast of the Don Imus show he has chosen not to visit there up to the date of the interview with Mr Reid.

Great job, CmmentGuy.

harry ried should resign in disgrace. The ‘leadership’ in both houses of congress is embarrassing to the United States. And people wonder why the world has such a low opinion of us.

I wonder if this Spectacular Spanking from Rush will finally bury the Orwellian-named ‘fairness doctrine’? Even if it doesn’t, I can’t help but believe that it’s at least an arrow in Talk Radio’s quiver should that battle be forced.

This really was a big win for free speech. You’d think that would be the big story in the news. Even so, with the approval rate of congress hovering around 10%, I think America’s paying at least a little attention in spite of the willfully ignorance-inducing msm.

Gotta love the internet and talk radio.

CommentGuy. Sorry ’bout that.

Dear Senator Reid,
……..write me a letter….please…..a big nasty one with lots of signatures……….

That is what the dems will do if they ever get in power and we’re attacked again. The will write letters to the terrorist asking forgiveness. What pu–ies

also, my bet is that this is the last time we’ll see a stunt like this pulled by the Dems against Rush.

Nah. Like Rush has said, put a bag of poo in from of them and they step in it every time.

“also, my bet is that this is the last time we’ll see a stunt like this pulled by the Dems against Rush.”

You ought to read the article titled “Hillary, Soros, Alinsky, and Rush Limaugh,” by Kyle-Anne Shiver at http://brookesnews.com/071510hillarsoros.html

An excerpt:

They are using Alinsky’s “basic tactic in warfare against the Haves,” which Alinsky refers to as “political jujitsu.” (Rules for Radicals, p. 152) This tactic advises the Have-Nots to “club the enemy to death with his own book of rules and regulations.” (p. 152) Rush is a great patriot, playing by the American patriot rulebook. But even a true patriot can be caught every now and then using one or two words, that when taken out of context, might be used to choke him on his own “petard” (p. 152).

This works especially well for the revolutionaries in our high-tech age, and some of Soros’ money goes to pay full-time listeners and media-watchers at Media Matters to monitor every word of the Haves. In their battle to Hush Rush — preferably before he gets a chance to skewer Hillary in the general election campaign — Hillary and Soros are using their media attack machine, Media Matters, to apply Alinsky Radical tactics #8 and #10.

The eighth rule (Rules for Radicals; p. 128):

Keep the pressure on.

Once you identify a potent adversary, seize every word, every event — no matter how trivial — and turn it around to your advantage. Make a big deal of it. Keep doing it. Over and over again. Eventually, you will wear down your opponent and win. And the bloodless revolution succeeds.

The tenth rule (Rules for Radicals; p. 129):

The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition.

The operations of the revolutionaries must be cohesive, organized and constant. An action causes a reaction, which causes another reaction to the reaction, “ad infinitum.” (p. 129)

And we see exactly how that happened with Rush.

And it is what they have been doing to George W. Bush since 1999. Remember all the faux scandals they tried to gin up against Bush and his administration? Remember AWOL Bush? Plamegate, “Fitzmas” - the in-the-can indictiment Rove, Cheney’s shooting coverup, Haliburton, Jim Gannon, Katrina, and on and on and on?

Oh no. Media Matters (Hillary Clinton-owned, Soros-funded) is not going to let up on Rush, O’Reilly, Bush, or anyone else. Media Matters, MoveOn.org, Hillary, Hsu, and so on, are going to have to be denied their tax exempt status, indicted for accepting bribes, or what ever, as part of putting them out of business.

georgej on October 20, 2007 at 4:36 AM

This episode should be in every high school Civics 101 text book in America, as it perfectly illustrates why one must verify everything these loathsome politicians Democrats say and do. This began with a lie and finished with a whole pack of whoppers so ridiculous even Reid could hardly handle the delivery. Reid exists in a swamp lower than nightcrawler poop, thinking nothing of inventing his involvement in Rush’s charity auction effort to score points with the Dem faithful.

I can only surmise every Democrat in the Senate is comfortable with Reid, ’cause not a one speaks out to assert the truth. Perhaps there will arise a Republican in the Senate with the courage to call upon the Democrats to select a new Majority Leader that does not dishonor the Senate quite so blatantly.

T J Green on October 20, 2007 at 2:00 PM

A few more stunts like this from Harry and we could make even more charities solvent. It must really hurt to have such a stupid stunt generate such a fine result.
