Nothing new here but it always bears noting lest the magnanimity of the gesture be taken for granted. Newbie blog readers are well advised to read this old Larry Miller piece (yes, that Larry Miller) from 2002 to put the clip in proper context. I imagine it does indeed get hard when they cheer. And they do cheer. In fact-they ululate too. That is what the Arabs did when my brother-in-law was murdered by terrorists and died in Israel.

I’m sure there’ll be a report in a few weeks that the hearts were taken from Palestinian children or were infected with something or whatnot.
They don’t appreciate it for long when it comes from the hands of Israelis/Jews

I just heard this on the radio. Most of the doctors are volunteers and half the kids they treat are Palestinians.

That is so sweet of them…how they can sit there and launch missiles into Israel is so amazingly screwed up. Good god, tehy just want to help and get along, they just want to not duck sniper fire when they go to work in the morning for gods sakes.

A beautiful story. The mother of one of the children was telling the doctor how much she owed him– I wish he had responded that she could pay her debt by speaking out every time her government or religious leaders demonized the Jews.

That article…damn, just…damn, you serious? I can’t imagine having a bunch of people cheering in the lobby as innocent people are wheeled in from terrorist attacks, speaks to the character of the Israelis, any other people would outright kill the animals cheering.
I guarantee if a group of people cheered on as people dying and wounded from terrorist attacks were wheeled into hospitals here in the States, those cheering would never leave that hospital alive.

I hope the Israelis do not expect any thank yous as the children will grow up to be Jew haters and their parents will cheer the news of any dead Jews.

‘Because They Hate’ by Brigette Gabriel (sp?) detailed Lebanese Christians suffering at the hands of the Muslims during the 1970′s and 1980′s. She goes into detail about how she fell in love with Israel when they took her mother injured in an attack and saved her life. The compassion she saw from the Israelis was in stark contrast to the Arab mentality that she grew up with.
Her father was buried in Israel. She moved her mother’s body from Lebanon to Israel. They are buried in the same cemetery as Schindler; the only graves marked ‘Lebanon’.

Yeah, most commenters on Israeli news websites skew towards “trolls.” Most aren’t Israeli, have never been to Israel and trust that Jimmy Carter tells them the truth in that book of his.
Israelis are the most fun, most interesting people I’ve ever met. They fascinate me like no other people on the planet. And mostly because they’re so generous to the people who aren’t generous to them.

The fact that the mother cares about her children enough to bring them to Israel is already unusual. Arab palestinian muslim mothers are noted for taking pride in sending their children to die a martyr’s death. Or perhaps that is what this relief and thanks is all about. Keeping them alive until that day comes.

And Israeli children are treated in Arab/Muslim hospitals too. Huh? Oh wait, that’s right. Israelis are never treated kindly ANYWHERE IN THE ARAB/MUSLIM world.

Hopefully generosity like this will help sweep away some of the hate in that region. That’s asking for alot I know but hopefully the families of these children can get the ball rolling.

In a news report on this a few days ago, one of the mothers refused to have her photo taken in Amman with the Jewish doctors saying she would be in trouble if word got back to Iraq.

Adding on the comments of others here:
* I, too, would like to learn that any of the 22 Arab League member countries were home to a medical program that offered treatment to Israelis at no cost – and at the same level of expertise and quality offered by Israeli doctors…just ONE.
* I would also like to have someone point out ONE major medical or technological breakthrough, that recently originated entirely from research conducted in Arab hospitals, universities, or scientific laboratories, and was conceived for purely peaceful purposes…just ONE.
* And I would like just ONE person to point out to every Arab who wants the Bomb that it seems silly for Allah to need a Jewish weapon of mass destruction, rather than ONE invented purely by Arabs (without the major share of the science/technology having been previously developed by Israel or the West)…just ONE.
I am asking for someone to show me examples of these things because otherwise, I am led to conclude that Arab countries contribute precious little good to humanity; content instead to buy, steal, or destroy anything good that is developed by others – especially by Israel.
These approximately 1 billion parasitical consumers hold power only by virtue of the petroleum that is buried under their desolate sand dunes. Petroleum wealth that they had nothing to do with developing, drilling, or refining until taught how by the West. Without petrodollars, most Arab League countries consist of virtually nothing except for the migrant tent-dwellers that they were before someone drilled for oil there.
They know it, and I believe the lion’s share of Arabs are insanely jealous of the fact that Israel, representing the merest fraction of a percent of the world’s Arab population by comparison, can turn desert to productive farmland, coax treasure out of rocks, leads the world in scientific achievement (per capita)…and are willing to share their largess with the rest of the world for nothing else in return except a quiet day without rockets, suicide bombers, or someone threatening to nuke them off the face of the earth.

Wanderlust – thank you for saying what I would liked to have said. It should break the heart of any sane individual to see the carnage of a suicide bomber or roadside bomb. Instead we hear cheers and more threats. We can only pray the mothers of these children return home with a tiny bit of doubt about the lies and propaganda they are preached daily and of their duty to destoy Israel and the Jewish people.
