HillaryCare’s a-comin’. If we’re going to think outside the box about wellness, let’s really do it, you know?
Silky would probably be warm to at least one or two of these proposals.

Almost as good as their piece on the plight of the Iraqi gravediggers.
BadgerHawk on October 18, 2007 at 5:47 PM
This is satire from the Onion News Network.
The Iraqi gravedigger story is real news from a “real” newspaper chain, McClatchy Newspapers.

AP:
Should I have waited longer to explain that Onion News Network is satire?
BadgerHawk:
I think that you are a regular. Did you punk me?
Is your point that it is very hard to tell the difference between CNN, McClatchy Newspapers, other MSM, and Onion News Network?

Very sad satire. I have a loved one that did believe that the CIA was monitoring him and etc…
He has been on medication for many years now but can’t live outside a sheltered setting.
Please – don’t get me started on mental health care in the U.S.

It is!?!? Oh my gosh!?!?
I’ll throw up the /sarc/ tag so there’s no confusion this time, but thanks for trying to keep me informed.

I refuse to comment until I know what Ron Paul’s stance is on the matter.

Up until a month ago I would have found that video funny…but then a sweet lady I know who battled this problem all of her adult life put a gun in her mouth and killed herself…now, the video isn’t so funny after all.
Before anyone jumps on me for being too sensitive, I’m not advocating taking the video off or anything. Just noting how life’s events sometimes changes one’s perspective.

Speaking as a nurse, mental health care in most countries is woefully inadequate. Medical personnel are capable and most research pertaining to PHYSICAL issues is wonderful. However, when it comes to mental health, it’s just so difficult to understand exactly how the brain works and why a person who has a mental illness has such different brain chemistry, etc. And the side effects of the medications for mental illnesses are just so bad and so negative that most mentally ill people simply refuse to take them because they feel worse.
That said, I did find this video funny, but sad. As I’m sure is the point.

I found it hilarious. There are lots of other reasons why people take their own lives.

these jerks haven’t a clue about this illness, it is a sad, sad, illness that is costly to everyone that is affected by it. The person living with it, thier family and don’t forget, they don’t have many friends because people don’t understand the illness period. I should know, my son was diagnosed 15 yrs ago and it has been a living hell at times for him and us. I just pray that God grants him some mercy when I am gone becuase the system sure as hell could give a rip about them once the insurance is gone. Look at all the people in prison, I bet over half are from mental institutions that shut down back in the 80’s. Remember the libs pushing the interaction with the rest of community. Sad, sad, sad state for all those affected with a mental illness and not funny when you or a family member is afflicted with this terrible illness.
