Moses was not a Christian

Much of the Bible is written as dispassionate history. The sins are not all highlighted in red lettering. Lessons can be derived from the facts.

David for instance committed major sins and because he was not struck down by lightening or denounced by hermit prophets does not imply he got a pass from God.

Christ is rough on people who commit certain sins and declares a hideous outcome for those people (worse than a millstone around the neck and being tossed into the sea for example). However such outcomes are to be dispensed by God, not the disciples

That is why many Christians like myself support the death penalty – because it sends criminals to their final judgement from God

The Christian reformation led to lots and lots more bloodshed, not less. It’s the secularization that cut Christianity’s will and power to kill.

The point is we don’t have much of a leg to stand on when our God commanded much of the same things Allah commands to muslims.

I do worry for the safety of the doggy. Had he named his puppy ‘Jesus’ the dog would be safe. What is it that makes me so certain? Could it be recent history?

Frankly naming the dog Muhammed is more of an insult to the dog.

That’s what I said when Newt Gingrich’s mom told Connie Chung that he’d called Hillary a “bit‍ch”. It was an insult to female dogs. Angel, our Schneagle (Schnauser-Beagle mix) hasn’t always lived up to her name, but she sure doesn’t deserve being compared to HRC.

I don’t admire the dude any more than I admire the guy who did Piss Christ, or the Double Dong Dildo Last Supper. He may be brave, but he also is rather clearly a jerk who revels in antagonizing people for no real reason other than to gain attention for himself.

Good. Having one’s “faith” slapped every now and again builds character: just ask some American Christians. (And who knows–slap it often enough and it might even give way to a glimmer of reason.)

Frankly, though, I can’t really get behind the guy dragging his pet into this.

A man is being threatened with murder for something said. By people who kill people every day for things they say. By people who committed mass murder in Pakistan hours ago. By people who killed thousands of Americans.

The gentlemen has the balls and the wit to poke the evil bastards right back with an insult that’s lame by any standard (my gardener is named Jesus – should I be enraged?).

And what I find here is moral relativism, the trite stale “Hey, Christianity is just as bad!?” Never mind that an ounce of intelligence and a glance at your television puts that lie to bed – we already know they aren’t at all alike.

But even if that argument wasn’t laughable … the fact that I’m finding abstract (and intellectually dishonest) references to the Old Testament is just appalling.

The man is under a death sentence.

For something he said.

And these people will do it.

It is:

“Blessed are the merciful…”

and:

“Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.”

vs.

“Strike at their necks…”

-and:

“… kill those who change their religion.”

Anyway, for me, it’s very easy to determine by following your link that the Lord’s Resistance Army has nothing whatsoever to do with Christianity or the teachings of Christ. So again, as I have asked a previous poster, please provide scripture references from the New Testament that supports and encourages the rape, torture, and murder of anyone for any reason.

Seems we could name FAR FAR FAR FAR more incidences coming from Muslims. And these Ugandans yahoos don’t have whole countries under their rule either, do they? Like say, Iran, Syria, S.A…Egypt etc.
