Randi Rhodes: I was too busy with doctor’s appointments to mention that I wasn’t attacked

Via LGF. Maybe she fainted, maybe she was pushed. All she knows is she was inside a pub, then outside having a smoke, then flat on her face. How often do people who’ve recently spent time inside a pub end up someplace strange with little recollection of how they got there? There’s all the proof you need of wingnut shenanigans afoot.

As for her politely declining to put an end to the rumors of a hate crime when she first heard about them, she he had things to do, okay? God. Click the image to listen.

I won’t call her what she calls President George W. Bush, we’ll just leave it that her “story” was unconvincing.

Zorro on October 18, 2007 at 8:26 PM

She got plastered at a bar and fell on her face – a fate that hundreds of thousands of drunks have suffered.

Yeah, I remember when I was 18.

Benaiah on October 18, 2007 at 8:31 PM

Those are some serious split ends, and some serious delusions!

SouthernGent on October 18, 2007 at 8:34 PM

Let’s Do the Math here…..

Smoking in NYC. Can’t anybody connect the dots? Rhodes fabricated the whole “mugger” conspiracy story to distract from the fact that she should be charged with the crime of lighting up within 50 miles of the Brooklyn Bridge!

I’m just surprised she didn’t include the fact that the mugger’s name was Phillip (let’s see how many people get that reference).

highhopes on October 18, 2007 at 8:36 PM

If there is any truth to the 15 drinks rumor, then she is a serious boozer, how many people could even get up and walk outside at that point. Not me. that’s for sure. IF she drinks that heavily there are way way bigger issues to her craziness .

bbz123 on October 18, 2007 at 8:36 PM

I can’t believe you guys would imply she might have been drunk (coming out of a bar). It’s obvious someone slipped her a roofy. Who wouldn’t, am I right?

RightWinged on October 18, 2007 at 8:37 PM

(BTW, that was typed with EXTREME sarcasm… for any lib who may want to come accuse me of being part of the “right wing hate machine” who’s continuing the assault on her. I’m joking that anyone would slip her anything, as she’s a disgusting human being on all levels, including appearance)

RightWinged on October 18, 2007 at 8:39 PM

Let me get this straight. She hadn’t eaten all day, went to a pub after work and, one would assume, had a drink (or ten). Went outside and next thing she knows, she’s face plants on the ground. Sounds like she’s embarrassed to admit she was soused and that she blacked out.

What a vile opportunist.

SouthernDem on October 18, 2007 at 8:40 PM

Been there. Done that. Never got a T-shirt for it. Sometimes it’s good to be old mature grown up.

RedWinged Blackbird on October 18, 2007 at 8:40 PM

Well, RW, when Paris and Lindsay do it, everybody wants to “save” them from themselves. This one is just an old MILF past her expiration date that no one gives a hoot about apparently.

bbz123 on October 18, 2007 at 8:42 PM

She says quite plainly that she doesn’t know what happened to her then goes on to say she was violently pushed. I’m always amused by Liberals that state that they don’t know why something is and yet always have an “obvious” reason why it is someone else’s fault.

MILF!? I’m not sure she’s an M anyone would ever L to F… Show me a picture where she looks good, and we can talk. My entire sarcastic comment was based on the premise that she’s hideous (both inside and out)

RightWinged on October 18, 2007 at 8:47 PM

All these posts and pics of Randi Rhodes……I think someone has a new lefty blogger crush.
;-)

infidel4life on October 18, 2007 at 8:48 PM

Sounds like Randi is in denial.

She has a problem with alcohol and needs to go to AA.

Is everyone at Air America and Kos going to be enablers?

Is anyone going to intervene and take her to the nearest residential treatment center?

slp on October 18, 2007 at 8:51 PM

Interesting that the Irish Pub part of the Ketel One rumor seems to be true. I wonder where all the jogging suit and no keys and no purse and dog walking part of the story came from.
No one can conclusively come up with a medical reason for what happened to her. Not conclusively.

MayBee on October 18, 2007 at 8:52 PM

I seem to remember seeing her on TV years and years ago where she was a bit attractive. Now, RW, not so much.

bbz123 on October 18, 2007 at 8:52 PM

Funny with the nutroots, their story always keeps changing.

BKennedy on October 18, 2007 at 8:56 PM

I was too busy with doctor’s appointments to mention that I wasn’t attacked

Being too “busy” to tell the truth is Randi Rhodes’ natural state.

ReubenJCogburn on October 18, 2007 at 8:57 PM

Lets see,its a Liberal who can’t get her story straight,
but I bet if you asked her a question she’d dance around it for a while,as we have seen.
Now I could be wrong, but I think it’s still to early in the election cycle to bring out the Liberals favourite phrase
that covers everything from Rhandi Rhodes stuper,to
Monicas stained dress,”Vast Right Wing Conspiracys”.
Ya know liberals act as if “the rightwingers are a bunch of
gremlins running around screwing up Liberals lives!

MayBee (paraphrasing Randi)

Yup, once the alcohol’s gotten out of your system, nobody can prove you were drunk.

Unless somebody was taking pictures as she walked out of the bar.

Does falling down stinking drunk sound plausible?

Does email written by a drunk sound plausible?

Does I couldn’t correct the lies because I was suffering the worst hangover of my life sound plausible?

Not only plausible, but predictible and extremely likely.

I don’t drink, but I’ve been around some drunks who did similar things on occasion. Many occasions for some of them (the slow learners).

Jim Treacher on October 18, 2007 at 9:46 PM

I saw the original post about the drinking witness and approached it with the proper skepticism however this posting over at RadioEqualizer I will give a lot more street cred.

Thoughts, questions and updates on where this muddled mess now stands:

First and foremost, if Randi Rhodes does have a substance abuse problem, it’s time to confront the issue head-on. Rush Limbaugh did and is a better person today for having done so. While many sites today have wondered aloud whether Rhodes is an alcoholic, rumors of a drug habit have persisted for years. If that’s the case, it’s time to get help.

Given that, was the mugging story a weak attempt to cover up the truth? How did Air America’s Jon Elliot get the story so wrong? Was he trying to help a friend / colleague? Will he take the hit merely for passing along what he was probably told to say? Think about it: how could Elliot be so far off the mark otherwise? He’s already been compelled to apologize.

Sorry I was not clear in my previous post.

Just the thought of “putting my mac on Randi” (beer goggles or not) is making me impotent.

F15Mech on October 18, 2007 at 9:54 PM

From the sounds of talking about her “uppers” on that weak link alone I wonder if she damage her falsies. (pun intended)

Yeah, no kidding. Nothing like waking up lying across your bed like some kind of fakachta face-down pieta, with your motorcycle helmet in one hand and your gloves and keys in the other. God watches out for fools, drunks, and children according to the old saying. That time, He hit the trifecta.

At least when I woke up I had the good grace to get down on my knees–in porcelain bus-driving mode. I was busy–but not busy pulling the wool over anybody’s eyes.

And no, I would not click on the image and watch. Her, I don’t need to hear from again, ever.

The solo on Over the Mountain off Diary of a Madman is epic.

She may be a lib but she can play some guitar, man.

Metro on October 18, 2007 at 10:45 PM

An important point here is that Stark had three similar instances during the debate today. The first prompted a comment by the chair and then the second was basically ignored and this was the third which was objected to with a point of order and a transcript was read back and the chair ruled it was not in violation of Rule 17. That is if I got my sequence correct.

CommentGuy on October 18, 2007 at 10:53 PM

the fact that the mugger’s name was Phillip

There’s no call for that, highhopes.

What did she smoke ? Must have been some powerful joint>

SIJ6141 on October 18, 2007 at 11:27 PM

Moreover, she was too busy reveling in what became an attack on conservatives (wow, what a career booster for a ((to that point in time)) failed radio commentator) to tell anyone that, in fact, she is simply a silly clutz, or perhaps a victim of an actual crime (who knows at this point when she’s lied so much about it?).

Yeah and I remember when my twin daughters thought a story like this would actually work.

Connie on October 19, 2007 at 12:55 AM

She hadn’t eaten all day

OK…classic “I’m sorry I got so drunk and….barfed all over you house – fill in the blanks with extreme drunkard behavior etc. etc. I hadn’t eaten all day before I drank a 1000 whatevers”

At least when I woke up I had the good grace to get down on my knees–in porcelain bus-driving mode. I was busy–but not busy pulling the wool over anybody’s eyes.

Jiminy, NO KIDDING!

What I don’t get is the lawyer said she was walking her dog! not at the bar going out for a smoke– this was pre-gawker gawker.

So, she lied to her lawyer too?

Topsecretk9 on October 19, 2007 at 1:21 AM

Incidentally, I think it has been stated more than a few times by others, but I could give a wit, crap, nothing if Randi Rhodes chugs down a fifth of vodka and a carton of smokes on her off time – it’s that she’s made her meat of Bush drunk talk, Bush assassination talk and she LIED about her own discretions to cover for her indiscretions and was hoping or putting no stop to wild speculation advantageous to her ideological fantasy that her fantasy enemy opposites perpetuated it in order to cover for her indiscretion.

Topsecretk9 on October 19, 2007 at 1:30 AM

that she needs rammed down her throat….

Topsecretk9 on October 19, 2007 at 1:31 AM

If she was “mugged”, then what got stolen from her?

nottakingsides on October 19, 2007 at 1:45 AM

OK – I commented before actually listening to her pathetic spin…I HIGHLY advise listening to it…again, her lawyer SAID she fell while walking her dog around 8pm in Murray Hill neigborhood.

Because she was BUSTED on Gwaker she has to admit she was at the barface down in grate – beautiful day in New York – went out for a smaoke – MAYBE I WAS PUSHED! yada yada yada…what a total joke.

SHE sent a 2 sentence email that said “she was mugged”

Nothing about being so wasted on 14 Vodka bloodies I fell on my ass but I CAN”T remember doing so I will LIE so I don’t have to admit I was so drunk off my bootie I ate a grate!

gotta love liberals, they will fairytale and fantasy away ALL their FUBAR personal actions and behaviors.

Exit question:

If drinking a bar out of their vodka and smoking a couple packs of smokes is OKAY, than why does Randi the progressive liberal need to lie about it by concocting being mugged to her employers and walking her dog and falling to her lawyer? Hmmm?

Anyways, Randi sounds no different than that truthout.org operator that lied about the Rove indictment – it’s still sealed you all know, right?

Topsecretk9 on October 19, 2007 at 1:58 AM

Not only is it not her fault that she got drunk and fell down on her face, it is not her fault that she helped spread the lie about the incident.

Liberals: at times like this denial is their only friend.

landlines on October 19, 2007 at 2:33 AM

I hope Randi has learned her lesson: Never mix Vodka with Kool-Aid.

Dork B. on October 19, 2007 at 6:34 AM

This one is just an old MILF

Do you know what a MILF is? She has never been a milf or anything else close to desirous. Why do you think she is so bitter and angry. Liberals don’t come to be liberals because of intellectual decisions. They become liberals because of nuerotic identy issues.

peacenprosperity on October 19, 2007 at 7:26 AM

Sorry to rain on your parade, but some of these comments are impolite at best.
Speculate as you will, but the one thing that seems to be certain is that the woman was hurt. That’s not the same as watching someone slip on a banana peel in a movie.

Admittedly, after listening to the audio, it’s tempting to take a shot at her, but a gentleman wouldn’t do such a thing…Oh wait. I just did, didn’t I?
Anyway, she sounds like a classy lady [/sarcasm]. I hope she gets well (not sarcasm).

Brian the sailor on October 19, 2007 at 8:11 AM

Quick show of hands, how many of us have been “slammed” into by someone else, with such force as to knock us over (or even a little off balance) and not felt the initial “slam”? I think to accuse John Barley Corn is a bit unfair too. Mary Jane, The White Lady, Hash — this is the libs favorite Diva after all.

And as far as the “Blackwater Thugs” are concerned, I’ve worked with the professionals at Blackwater and they wouldn’t waste their time on Randi not a Rhodes

srhoades on October 19, 2007 at 9:13 AM

I guess my main objection to all this crap is that before this faked mugging story I didn’t know who this person was or that Air America was even still on the air nor did I give a damn on either count.

Do we even have some confirmation that she fell and / or has any visible injuries or is this just a shoddy publicity stunt?

Buzzy on October 19, 2007 at 9:14 AM

That’s what I was thinking. Typical liberal -rather than take any personal responsibility, blame somebody else. Even if you have to make them up. After all, we still can’t prove it wasn’t Rove who gave her a quick shove.

By the way, exactly what was the “two sentence message” she sent? Did it say she was out walking her dog or in a pub? Because I was led to believe it was the former based on initial reports. Maybe she took the dog to the pub?

taznar on October 19, 2007 at 11:55 AM

This addict to alcohol viciously attacked Rush Limbaugh over his addiction to pain meds. She (like most of thel eft) spared nothing; showed no sympathy to Limbaugh and his problems.

As a result, I’m am not inclined to show her any mercy or understanding now that HER addiction is a public matter.

Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind.

Randi Rhodes: I was too busy with doctor’s appointments to mention that I wasn’t attacked

This bit of logic comes from someone who gets away with joking (and hoping?) that Bush gets assassinated.

She should also say that she was too busy being a hardcore leftist liberal to tell the truth.

Perhaps she was busy figuring out what other children’s fund Foul Air America could divert to that station’s coffers.
