Indeed doriangrey. This country needs real leaders very badly.

Where have all the good men gone
And where are all the gods?
Where's the streetwise Hercules
To fight the rising odds?
Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed?
Late at night I toss and turn and dream
of what I need
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night
He's gotta be strong
And he's gotta be fast
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light
He's gotta be sure
And it's gotta be soon
And he's gotta be larger than life
Somewhere after midnight
In my wildest fantasy
Somewhere just beyond my reach
There's someone reaching back for me
Racing on the thunder and rising with the heat
It's gonna take a superman to sweep me off my feet

Begin to care again, and I’ll buy you that drink.

At this point no prediction means anything. I can see Rudy winning, and the Congress gaining for the lefties, though today they reached a new low of 11% approval, both houses. 2008 will be a very interesting year.

Entelechy on October 18, 2007 at 1:19 AM

Believe it or not, as I bash Bush a lot, but in 2000 when they announced that Florida had gone for Gore (which if accurate would have meant that he won the election) and in 2004 when they announced that Kerry was, per exit polls which were suppose to be pretty accurate, was ahead in all battleground states save one, both times I almost went into Anaphylactic shock! I was very dpressed anyway to say the least.

So there is some advantage to not caring that much.

Yup, the way things are going congress could be seeing a whole lot of new faces in 2008, not just the republicans getting the boot, but many many incumbents who thought their seats were safe.

If a third party is going to offer up someone they had better get busy with the petitions and familiarizing themselves with the rules of each state.
One of the HA readers may be an expert on how it works but from what little I read it appears it is very difficult to do. Perot had the advantage of being a billionaire and had the resources to do it.

Anyone have better insight into the process?

Hey, look, more doomsaying from AP.

The poll confirms HRC can't break 50% in a general election, and would need a third-party candidate. Unless that conservative Christian is as rich as Perot, good luck getting on enough ballots to make a difference.

Countdown to AP conspiracizing a Dobson-Soros alliance starts now.

I think that Hillary will probably win in 2008 and the democrats will very probably pick up seats in the House and particularly in the Senate.

And I don't even care that much anymore.

Someone please buy me a drink!

Huh? 29% of self described “conservatives” and 30% of “born again Christians” would vote for Hillary???

The Clinton machine is even more effective than I previously thought!!!

It's all relative and probably more a case of the Republican party self destructing over the last few years.

If nothing else Fred will force Rudy to the right, and if he's elected he may well keep some promises he makes. Or so we can hope.

I am not going to say Fred is done, but he does seem to be slouching.

Sorry all you Fredsters but Fred could care less about being president. His wife saw dollar signs in being a past presidential contender and what the heck, if he does make it all the better.

He's done. Stick a fork in him.
