Via The Corner, it has come to my attention that today is National Boss Day.
Ahem.
Where’s my iPhone?

AP, you blew it, big time. A dozen roses and that I-phone would have been in the bag.
Anyway, happy bosses day MM. Make em suffer!
conservnut on October 16, 2007 at 9:46 PM
My people bought me lunch and gave me a card…awfully cool of them.
Don’t forget ‘Sweetest Day‘ is coming up next on the calendar of cynically manufactured commercial opportunities.

Nobody mentioned anything at the office. Hell to pay tomorrow.
JammieWearingFool on October 16, 2007 at 9:48 PM
Prior to his unfortunate descent into BDS, Bruce Springsteen was the one and only “The Boss” as far as I was concerned.
But for you, I make an exception.
Have a great day, madame Boss.
Anton on October 16, 2007 at 9:49 PM
I WILL BUY YOU THE IPHONE, BOSS!
After I get one of my own.
Allahpundit on October 16, 2007 at 9:50 PM
The woman that started Boss Day did it because she worked for her father and it’s always on October 16th since that was his birthday.
/now if I could figure out why I know worthless trivia like that….
RW_theoriginal on October 16, 2007 at 9:51 PM
I don’t even do valentine’s day, so another fictional holiday seems unlikely.
Sorry President Bush.
BadgerHawk on October 16, 2007 at 9:55 PM
Incidentally, it’s somebody’s birthday this Saturday. Hint hint.
Allahpundit on October 16, 2007 at 9:57 PM
My boss is on vacation, so I’m off the hook, right? :-)
One of my peeps got me a card. That was nice! Wasn’t expecting anything. Whoever heard of Bosses Day???!
Ordinary1 on October 16, 2007 at 9:59 PM
Cool! Michelle and I have the very same birthday only mine is on a different day in May and 8 years earlier! What a coincidence!
GoodBoy on October 16, 2007 at 10:03 PM
Perhaps you can still pull off a save.
conservnut on October 16, 2007 at 10:03 PM
All is forgiven. ;)
What a sweetie. Am I a lucky boss or what?!
Michelle on October 16, 2007 at 10:07 PM
Happy Birthday Day and Boss day too!
Zorro on October 16, 2007 at 10:08 PM
Jobless…no boss.
Sniff.
terryannonline on October 16, 2007 at 10:09 PM
Darn!……Her birthday, our anniversary, Mother’s Day, now Bosses Day…..I’m doomed.
Limerick on October 16, 2007 at 10:10 PM
I’m my own boss! Sort of.
Time to get a guy-Pod! Happy Boss Day!
see-dubya on October 16, 2007 at 10:11 PM
nice.
BadgerHawk on October 16, 2007 at 10:12 PM
Stainless?
Zorro on October 16, 2007 at 10:15 PM
Was I supposed to get the Colonela gift card to Panera Bread or something? Nuts…
major john on October 16, 2007 at 10:17 PM
haha.. next year, somebody should get Oct 20th declared “Michelle Malkin day” in New York and we would promote it heavily on the site. I could just see Kos and DU implode.
On second thought, lets just declare it this and watch the fun.
GoodBoy on October 16, 2007 at 10:18 PM
Indubitably. No offense to Charter but I haven’t heard much about “black Passivate” finishes.
see-dubya on October 16, 2007 at 10:19 PM
Isn’t every day boss day?
Bob's Kid on October 16, 2007 at 10:25 PM
No, no, no. It was actually last Saturday, but that’s okay…I don’t expect a gift.
Bob's Kid on October 16, 2007 at 10:27 PM
I don’t know where to send them!
Allahpundit on October 16, 2007 at 10:29 PM
Oh, and Happy BD, Michelle…I didn’t get an iPhone either, and couldn’t eat cake or ice cream because of this lame diet I’m on. I hope yours is better!
Bob's Kid on October 16, 2007 at 10:30 PM
Michelle is a Scale. Nice for balance. Libra is the only inanimate sign of the zodiac, all the others representing either humans or animals. No wonder there’s so much brain there.
I don’t know about the “peaceable”, “indecisive” (though it has taken her a long time to decide about that darn iPhone),”easily influenced” and “self-indulgent”.
Those of you who know her better, discuss.
On the big A – we knew quite a bit about the underground man, just from what you/him have shared, but that he is a “sweetie” I didn’t know. How sweet!
On a very serious note, I think you are a lucky boss Michelle, and that your peers are lucky to work with you. From here it comes across as challenging, interesting, stimulating, fun and never boring, be you the boss or the business partner.
Happy birthday MM, health, happiness, and much creativity!
Entelechy on October 16, 2007 at 10:30 PM
Same place the check comes from might have worked.
conservnut on October 16, 2007 at 10:34 PM
conservnut, what if it’s autodeposit?
Entelechy on October 16, 2007 at 10:35 PM
Don’t make excuses for him. He does that well enough on his own ;-)
conservnut on October 16, 2007 at 10:41 PM
It came to my attention about 5pm today, when I almost wished someone happy birthday by mistake. They were carrying their balloons and gifts (that’s plural!) to the car. It wasn’t until they approached that I saw their birthday balloons were actually “Happy Boss Day” balloons. Yikes! Who’d ever heard of such a thing?
AFAICT she was the only one all day so recognized. Lonely day for the rest, I imagine…
LOL! How ’bout a nice Apple pen or maybe a fruit plate?
I think Santa’s gonna have to work on the big-ticket iPhones… (except you AP, you’re on the fast track, I can smell it)
RD on October 16, 2007 at 10:42 PM
My bet is on Allah getting a ZunePhone if he keeps asking for an iPhone. Now that would be funny.
Tom Blogical on October 16, 2007 at 10:45 PM
Yeah! Another Libra!
Happy Birthday!
Happy Boss Day too!
4shoes on October 16, 2007 at 10:45 PM
Me too, but I sent my most recent boss an e-card.
Happy Bosses Day, Michelle
infidel4life on October 16, 2007 at 10:55 PM
If Allah had just stashed away $3.00 a day since iPhone’s the January 9th debut on HotAir, he would have had more than enough money to buy that iPhone, along with three months service, and a large bouquet of flowers (possibly a fruit basket) for Michelle on National Boss Day.
The time for excuses is past.
Memnon on October 16, 2007 at 10:56 PM
I will commit seppuku.
Allahpundit on October 16, 2007 at 10:56 PM
I would gladly send MM a big bushel o’ flowers. I just don’t know her address.
Allahpundit on October 16, 2007 at 10:57 PM
lol. There is no other option at that point
Spirit of 1776 on October 16, 2007 at 11:03 PM
Hint, hint, you could have Bryan deliver them next year. Besides, flowers are not always the wittiest gift, too common, and waaay too expensive, unless you pick some yourself.
Entelechy on October 16, 2007 at 11:04 PM
Whatever happened to Mother-in-laws Day?
BL@KBIRD on October 16, 2007 at 11:06 PM
Allahpundit try sending the BOSS a box of chocalites orbags of cheezpuffs wrapped in ads for the iphone work the subliminal angle hahaha
Kevin43 on October 16, 2007 at 11:08 PM
That’s my line.
steveegg on October 16, 2007 at 11:09 PM
I think Mother-In-Laws happened to it.
conservnut on October 16, 2007 at 11:14 PM
You should’ve sent that privately; somehow I don’t think Michelle has a “convenient” memory.
steveegg on October 16, 2007 at 11:15 PM
Next to that Onion video, that might be the funniest thing I’ve heard all day…
Spirit of 1776 on October 16, 2007 at 11:15 PM
At least my employee (1) showed up today….
chewydog on October 16, 2007 at 11:27 PM
Have you flogged your crew today?
jaime on October 16, 2007 at 11:30 PM
Come on AP! Hasn’t every unhinged nut case already posted her address/phone/pics of her house etc.! Just google it!
Pam on October 17, 2007 at 12:14 AM
Shouldn’t it really be called Brown-nosing Lickspittles’ Day?
Boss’s Day?
That’s every day.
Get thee to Reality.
profitsbeard on October 17, 2007 at 12:25 AM
AP, they have a website called giveanything.com for virtual gift cards.
No need to know her physical address. Email address will do just fine.
I received one myself a few months ago. Nice surprise from a customer and better than flowers! :)
kiakjones on October 17, 2007 at 6:41 AM
My people gave me the best Boss’s Day gift I Boss could ever want…they stayed home. ;)
Nice. Peaceful. Quiet.
Good day really.
Pilgrim on October 17, 2007 at 7:39 AM
AP,
Send MM your hammock.
( I know all.. )

The beautiful thing about capitalism is that every day is boss’s day.
windbag on October 17, 2007 at 8:27 AM
Didn’t know Michelle was Catholic.
aengus on October 17, 2007 at 8:39 AM
Didn’t know Michelle was female. Like Andrew Levy, I don’t see gender. :)
Enrique on October 17, 2007 at 9:57 AM
Allah, What’s with MM’s hair in that hint link? Is her name really Farrah?
Mazztek on October 17, 2007 at 10:27 AM
Boss Day . . . Riiiight . . .
About three months back, I declared Independence Day to try and make it on my own in business. I’ll let you know when I’ve recovered from having varied strange forms of the noun across the past twenty-five years.
Here’s a hint. Don’t wait up.
52Ranger on October 17, 2007 at 12:33 PM
Do atheists celebrate birthdays?
srhoades on October 17, 2007 at 1:27 PM
This is great…! I hope the birthday goes better than Boss’ Day. Best wishes, Michelle.
Rugged Individual on October 17, 2007 at 3:56 PM
Sniff.
I have my own consulting business, and I have no employees to wish me a happy boss’s day.
Sniff.
I guess, I’ll guess I’ll have to console myself — with a prime cut NY strip steak dinner, a bottle of expensive Merlot, and a “come-hither” look for my wife.
georgej on October 17, 2007 at 4:28 PM
.
You sir, on this topic, are foolish. :-)
.
Flowers.. That IS what women love.
Cost-wise? lets see, 40 bucks and they last 10 days. Pretty good deal, especially when the lovely lady thinks of you every day upon seeing and ’smelling the roses’. IF you send them to the office, the whole place is jealous of your lady.
Try it sometime…chivalry is NOT dead, nor is romance.
