What makes you so sure of the type of music to which these women listen? Be specific.

I don’t KNOW… but I’m guessing, and that guess is based on a variety of data not limited to personal observation. Are you seriously arguing that the rap is NOT the most popular style of music for black college students?

This UA study (admittedly a very small sample) indicates that hip-hop is not just a popular form of music, it’s an integral part of the culture these kids live in. They may ALSO listen to jazz and other music, but college students have not rejected hip hop because of its racism and misogynist views nor do they even acknowledge how hateful it is. I’m generalizing by including the Rutgers women in with their peers, but as I said, I bet I’m right.

At the moment, marching in LA for the constraining ‘abuse’ of a cake-throwing-out-of-control Black girl, by a white security guard, which never happened, which the doctors have medical records to prove, and which story the LAT hasn’t corrected. No, they go with the mother’s lies, and so does Al. Never mind that the girl and mother signed a paper stating that she was totally ok, after the hospital physical check-up and psychological assessment.

So, he always has ‘victims’ to defend, real or imagined. To him and the ’cause’ it doesn’t matter.

Since she wanted a look at their playlists…it appears that she’s not ‘so sure’ at all. Of course, she did say she’s willing to bet on it, but betting is playing the odds on usually uncertain outcomes.

I’m more bothered by a reporter making the same kind of appearance-based value judgements Imus made, i.e. ‘tall beauty’ vs. ‘nappy-headed hos.’ (Oh, but since it was a compliment, everything’s fine with that, eh?)

What type of music should I presume you to prefer? On what shall I base my prejudgements?

Gospel, neo-soul, jazz, reggae and other non-rap music are also popular among African-Americans. Here’s a shocker; rap music would not have made it through the 90s without a majority of suburban listeners/buyers/concert goers.

Also, why have the white basketball players been disregarded by Imus supporters?

He had a decent show. He is personally annoying, but he has a pretty fair approach to interviewing. I wonder how neutered he will be now.

Three-year-old jihadis, OTOH, he has no problem with.
