Coulter’s website hacked?

A real attack on a conservative to bookend the story about a fake attack on a liberal. I didn’t get to see the page myself while it was up but Double Plus Undead did and someone was shrewd enough to preserve it at Photobucket. It’s the standard leftist fantasy about a prominent right-winger having a David Brock-ish Pauline conversion on the road to Damascus and repenting of his or her ways. Doubtless it’s tempting to AC — if you think she’s a bestseller now, imagine how she’d do reversing field and attacking the right — but I’m inclined to believe, against all liberal hope, that the conservative pundettes really do mean what they say on television. Call it a hunch.

Sadly, Allah, even the link at Photobucket is gone. But they did have the text of Ann’s “farewell.” Not one of Coulter’s fans is going to believe a bit of it anyway. Heck, I may well find it easier to believe you’d become a convert to Scientology!

very light… if it’s a hack then they were very light handed… maybe she is tired of the attention… maybe she doesn’t care what people think… maybe it was an experiment, she has said anything and everything to get the other side riled up… maybe she’s a liberal plant.

Yay! Isn’t it nice how some people think it’s fine to break the law when it’s all for a good laugh. All this is going to do, despite whatever point these hackers intended, is give more Coulter spotlight and attention.
I can’t wait for her response. It will be much more impressive than her, apparent, “resignation” from being a conservative.
Call it coincidence, but does it not seem like there are more attacks on conservatives lately?
By the way, I hope Hot Air’s host service has good firewalls!

(I noticed the Safari browser too. I don’t know why they use it. I have a Mac and I have video issues with Safari. I use Firefox instead. Maybe Safari just doesn’t like me.)

If you got to her current site, it’s very different from the one in the screen cap (at least for me). Her whole left sidebar is gone. It’s actually simpler.

It was a pretty mild hack, which truthfully is probably the smart way to do it, if you’re too blatantly obvious about it, it’ll be wiped in minutes, doing it this way, while less upfront, lets it stay up awhile so more people can see it.

Honestly, even if Ann were a complete fraud (which I highly doubt, especially considering how long it took her to get her first book published), she’s still no coward.
If she were going to announce something like that, she’d just go ahead and do it. She wouldn’t hide it in her archives.

Nice catch. It is not very likely but money could be the motive. There is a lot of extortion being accomplished on the internet. But most of those involve banks and online casinos and massive DDOS attacks.

The obvious bit that made it not-Anne was the line about how it is the USA’s fault that Muslim countries hate us. IF we would just stop invading all their countries like Iraq, Iraq and say Iraq then we would be loved.
Even though we defended Kuwait from Saddam, defended Saddam from Iran, defended Muslims in the former Yugoslavia, tried to feed the people of Somalia, they hate us because we keep invading Iraq and propping up the Saudi kingdom by buying their oil instead of using domestic sources.
