Video: “People Getting Punched Just Before Eating”

posted at 9:01 pm on October 15, 2007 by Allahpundit

I’m giving you this one against my better judgment, mainly because we’re strapped for content at the moment but also because Andy Samberg’s viral vids for SNL have now practically attained “event” status even when they’re lame. This one’s #1 at YouTube today with 230,000+ views in the past 36 hours so a few of you are bound to dig it. Samberg’s basically a two-trick pony: raunchy hip-hop parodies (the source of his greatest fame) and grotesque variations on slapstick. Guess which category this falls into.

Worth watching if only to marvel at how they filmed the punches. With only a few exceptions, they look real.

The Jovi Punch was the best one… until he made a Full Recovery.

RedWinged Blackbird on October 15, 2007 at 9:16 PM

Saw it on Sat. and couldn’t abide it. Maybe all of the punching bruised the fuunny bone.

RD on October 15, 2007 at 9:16 PM

Oh, MAD TV is on Fox at the same time – let’s watch that -

I’m sure SNL will find a joke in that skit, maybe.

On-my-soap-box on October 15, 2007 at 9:21 PM

That was hilarious. Thanks for downplaying it, AP, so it was even more hilariouser.

heh. Double punch.

frankj on October 15, 2007 at 9:24 PM

That wasn’t even slightly interesting.

Condi Rice made the statement that it’s time for a Palestinian State and you post this tripe?

More like a 1.5 trick pony. Timberlake sold “D*** In A Box”, not Samberg.

How can there be no news of interest? I mean that question seriously.

thuja on October 15, 2007 at 10:13 PM

Thank our lucky stars that there is no news of interest; it means that for now, all’s quiet on the western front.

RushBaby on October 15, 2007 at 10:27 PM

Now I’m sure weed is not the only drug being used while writing for this show.

Really awful.

I actually LOLed. Pretty funny.

DaveS on October 15, 2007 at 11:33 PM

That was funny until the zombies showed up. We’re scraping bottom, though.

windbag on October 15, 2007 at 11:51 PM

I like how no one ever bothers to check to see if this is real or not (that we can see in the short clips). Esp. the “MURDER” one. Geeze, New Yorkers really are all assholes.

Neo on October 16, 2007 at 12:27 AM

I want that three minutes back. Actually, I’m not sure it was three minutes, but I’m not going back to check.

Merovign on October 16, 2007 at 12:44 AM

He punched Bon Jovi! That was hilarious!

If only he punched “The Hoff”, then my laughter would reach a fever pitch.

Black Adam on October 16, 2007 at 1:40 AM

Not funny.

astuddis on October 16, 2007 at 2:21 AM

I think…we need a new word for “stupid” here.

tikvah on October 16, 2007 at 3:36 AM

Blatant take off on the Easter Bunny Hates You.

Ironically, I can think of few I’d personally enjoy punching as much as Andy Samberg…

Lazy Sunday.

krabbas on October 16, 2007 at 8:52 AM

Let’s all pretend to be really grown-up and condemn this vid, that way we’ll look _so_ much more mature and intellectual than the SNL pinkolibcommie scum.

I thought it was stoopid goofy fun, and I laughed…I don’t think it was intended to be anything more than that…

*ahem* back to stoney-faced maturity

Appalling stuff

Ochlan on October 16, 2007 at 10:01 AM

Loved it! And still unable to figure out why people always make such a fuss when they don’t enjoy something. ;)

CorinthianJest on October 16, 2007 at 10:39 AM

That just might be the stupidest thing wasting bandwidth even released. I want my 2:53 back.

Sinner on October 16, 2007 at 11:35 AM

Blatant take off on the Easter Bunny Hates You.

With a healthy dose of Kicked in the Nuts, too.

Who knew that ripping other people off could be so lucrative?

Sean M. on October 16, 2007 at 1:03 PM

Okay, so what was the punchline? I watched the whole thing, but it just ended without a punchline.
