Video: Job of U.S. soldiers is killing “mothers and sisters,” says David Crosby

So self-parodic is this all the way around the horn that I can’t muster the requisite outrage. Of course David Crosby thinks American soldiers are out to kill women. Of course Graham Nash thinks “dialogue” is the answer to suicidal jihadism. Of course Chris Matthews doesn’t think he’s a Marxist even as he’s mouthing rhetoric straight from the Daily Worker. Of course, of course.

A lot of golden moments packed into 130+ seconds but if I have only one to take with me to the grave, it’s the knowing look Nash shoots Matthews after he very smartly suggests opposing the war as a good way for the Church to distract people from that nasty business with the altar boys. You’re nobody’s fool, Nashy!

Tin soldiers and Bush is coming
They’re still not on their own
This winter I hear the drumming
Four dead in Kar-bal-a
Gotta get down to it
Soldiers are cutting them down

Man these old hippies just don’t change their worldviews

Actually, their job is to kill brothers and sons, and I’m very happy with the job they’re doing.

It’s the Islamists’ job to kill their own mothers and sisters.

Fork you, Dave. Go smoke another bowl.

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Matthews? HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

David Crosby is the LAST person in the world that should be taken seriously on ANY subject. His opinion not only counts for NOTHING it counts for minus points.

commonsensehoosier on October 15, 2007 at 7:57 PM

just noticed something, this proves that much of Ron Pauls support is not coming from Republicans. go to his webiste, http://www.ronpaul2008.com/

at the top, they have in big headlines a notice to let them know they have to be registered Republican to vote for him in primaries and when the state deadlines are. he is using the party that he’s never been a real part of, and should be kicked out. but won’t.

Someone needs to do a quick 2 question survey:

I’m sure the results would be interesting.

He should have asked Crosby, why, being the peace loving lad he is, was he toting that 357 on TWO different arrests?
I saw him in concert on the same tour he was first arrested for gun possession, and he was sweating like a whore in church and couldn’t remember the words to his own songs.

Wonder if he still packs heat?

If I remember correctly, David Crosby is the guy who wanted to send the marines into Columbia to destroy the druglords and the cocoa crops. Of course, this was just after he was finally detoxed.

I guess when it comes to fighting his own drug addiction, “killing is the answer.”

Crosby did get a new liver. This excerpt is from a song by the band CAKE called “Rock and Roll Lifesyle”:

Aging black leather and hospital bills,
Tattoo removal and dozens of pills.
Your liver pays dearly now for youthful magic moments,
But rock on completely with some brand new components.

Isn’t it nice that our brave soldiers and our wonderful country enable these intellectually lazy SOBs to sit safe and snug and preach how evil America is. I am so f***ing sick of it. I wish with all my might that these ingrates will get so sick of the “evil empire” and move to one of these God forsaken countries and truly get the chance to see first hand where the evil in the world comes from.

These guys are just ignorant talking about the churches need to get in line with the people and oppose Iraq.

At the very beginning the people were in favor of toppling Saddam, and the Vatican and the World Council of Churches, that is, most of the “mainline” Protestant denominations, opposed the invasion or were very critical.

I remember my childhood as a “rebel” in the rural south and how I thought people like Crosby and Nash had such great wisdom. Damn, children are stupid, but I suppose the rebellion part did make sense for a gay child. I suppose it is possible the common path of accepting the status quo and the common path of rejecting the status quo are both embarrassing stupid once one is grown up.

And why haven’t Crosby and Nash grown up since the 1960’s? Is it the drugs?

thuja on October 15, 2007 at 9:28 PM

Why does anyone with a shred of respectability even listen to Chris? He is in the tank for the lefties and cannot be counted on to get to the truth.

And just who are those other two guys? Does their opinion matter so much that they deserve a forum?

csdeven on October 15, 2007 at 9:29 PM

Neither Matthews nor Crosby should have a forum for what are crackpot views. American soldiers don’t deserve the abuse, even is it is coming from scum on a scumbag’s show.

Phil Byler on October 15, 2007 at 9:30 PM

Anti-military, drug taking, old hippies. Yes, let’s listen to what they have to say. It’s so meaningful. The left is getting to the bottom of the barrel if these morons are dragged out to comment. I didn’t like their politics in the ’60’s and I sure as hell can’t stand them now.

Years ago, I was a kid in my early 20s in Brooklyn, NY. David Crosby played Brooklyn College. Not many people knew he was going to be there, beyond a public service announcement on WNEW-FM in New York City. I being into this sort of stuff back then, went, maybe less than 50 people showed up to an auditorium. Crosby was solo. He was so wasted. He nodded off sitting down playing and dropped his guitar on the floor. He awoke again, played then dozed off, staggered off the stage.

Isn’t that a demonstration of his contempt for the glorious body Mother Nature gave him?

And they’re coming to take me away ha-haaa
They’re coming to take me away ho ho hee hee ha haaa
To the funny farm
Where life is beautiful all the time
And I’ll be happy to see those nice young men
In their clean white coats
And they’re coming to take me away ha haaa

You thought I was a joke when I told you about those soldiers
And so you laughed
You laughed when I said
That not believing me would make me flip my lid

Right? You know you laughed
I heard you laugh. You laughed
You laughed and laughed and then you spat on me
And now you know I’m utterly mad

And they’re coming to take me away ha haaa
They’re coming to take me away ho ho hee hee ha haaa
To the happy home with trees and flowers and chirping birds
And basket weavers who sit and smile and twiddle their thumbs and toes
And they’re coming to take me away ha haaa

Don’t blame it on the drugs. There are plenty of non drugging health conscious in music and hollywood. It is a mental health issue. Raging sociopathic narcissism. They have some success, make alot of easy money and suddenly believe they are geniuses. Look at Springsteen, as dumb as a stump. Gets great comfort from Dowd and Krugman. All the idiots in NJ call him the poet laureate of the state. name a Springsteen song that he actually says something nice about the state, the country, the world or life. His message is the same in every song he writes, “(Fill in the blank) sucks but I am courageous and above it all and will overcome how bad (fill in the blank)sucks”.
