That’s true for about 6 months. Then they realize that you are just like their daddy, controlling and patriarchal!

Then you come home to find them drunk by 7pm. Then they go to therapy, get a presciption to Prosac, so not only are they drunk by 7pm, but passed out as well.

In a perfect world, he’d prefer that I stay home, clean his house and bake cookies all day. But the thing of it is, the man is totally secure in his manhood. And he loves me. We’ve been together since I was 17 years old. And I’ve watched him go out of his way to understand what I need to be happy….

…as I’ve gone out of my way, during our 28+ years of marriage to understand what he needs to be happy, though it doesn’t always make sense to me, either. That is what you do when you love someone more than life itself. The other person is more important than your own ego. It ain’t about being a man, or a woman. It’s about your marriage.

And that is pretty damned cool. I’ll take it any time. That is why I will never cheat on my husband, no matter how many times he is deployed. He is twice the man of anyone I have ever met, and I have met other men I have liked. I am married, not dead. But never anyone who compared to him. Not a one.

So we both compromise, even when that means we don’t get exactly what we want in life. The payoff is that you get to watch the person you love more than anything else get what *they* want. It’s not so bad a tradeoff.

Ok, I quit reading here… although a poll of the Men in my immediate family shows we’re all attractive, athletic, wealthy, happy, and extraordinarily intelligent.

Heck, my mom even thinks we are (or at least, thats what she told me) so it’s unanimous. 100% polled think my family is made up of wonderful people.

Any ladies finding a new interest in me? I am amazingly still available.
