Hey! I didn’t know you would be on. How about a heads up?!
ThackerAgency on October 15, 2007 at 11:03 PM
That’s an old clip, guys. As should be painfully apparent from the post I linked to.
Allahpundit on October 15, 2007 at 11:05 PM
gotcha. miss her on the tee vee
ThackerAgency on October 15, 2007 at 11:06 PM
Kinda a bummer you won’t be on Michelle. Oh well, it Bill O’s loss, other than Ham and Miller, there isn’t much of a reason to watch.
Bad Candy on October 15, 2007 at 11:06 PM
This woman has ‘em the size of basketballs. Don’t let up Michelle, don’t ever let up.
d1carter on October 15, 2007 at 11:07 PM
Awww, I’ll miss you on The Factor, Michelle. I don’t watch it very much and less so since the Geraldo kerfuffle. I certainly understand why you quit and will continue to read the blogs.
Papa Bear O’Reilly should have canned Geraldo after that statement. MAJOR misstep, in my opinion.
mjk on October 15, 2007 at 11:12 PM
The Digg link she had is pretty tame compared to some places where I’ve seen her linked.
Bad Candy on October 15, 2007 at 11:12 PM
I do miss Malkin Factor.
Speakup on October 15, 2007 at 11:13 PM
It’s funny how the universe works. Close one door firmly and set your back against it, then lift your eyes up and watch as a new vista materializes in front of your eyes.
Everything happens for a reason.
RushBaby on October 15, 2007 at 11:15 PM
I’m glad MM took a stand on this. Class and grace – The girl can’t help it.
Tru2my2 on October 15, 2007 at 11:16 PM
Digg.com. A wretched hive of scum and villainy.
Savage on October 15, 2007 at 11:17 PM
You go girl,Now that was simple english that I can understand.Hehe
canopfor on October 15, 2007 at 11:17 PM
I noticed this on Digg a couple hours ago…some of the comments there on this are absolutely outrageous. And that’s putting it mildly.
Sickening is what those comments are…
JetBoy on October 15, 2007 at 11:18 PM
Or as Fred would say “Until thean, I’ll keep writin’. You keep hatin’ and Chris and Geraldo will keep oan spittn”.
There are few real men and women left. MM is one of them!
Entelechy on October 15, 2007 at 11:20 PM
Michelle, I read your post at your blog before it broke here at HA. While I will miss your thoughtful insight on the Factor, I am glad that you are more dedicated to your principles than to appearance fees.
This is yet another illustration of your exemplary character–especially as opposed to the actual “media whores” on the other side of the blogosphere and political aisle.
Keep fighting the good fight. You are right not to cast your pearls before a swine.
mojojojo on October 15, 2007 at 11:22 PM
Yeah, the O’Reilly Factor doesn’t need Michelle’s classy presence anymore. Or her intellect.
Frank Nitti on October 15, 2007 at 11:28 PM
I’m telling you guys, Digg is positively tame compared to some sites she gets linked to.
Bad Candy on October 15, 2007 at 11:31 PM
Love what ya do, MM, and hope you’re doing it for a long time coming.
But come on, AP…this for quote of the day and not Ann’s one-liner?
Still angling for that iPhone, eh?
Harpazo on October 15, 2007 at 11:31 PM
Michelle made a good choice. This Live Hot Air TV project has huge potential. Huge.
As I mentioned earlier, I would love to watch a live Hot Air broadcast at 8PM Mondays (or every night)!
Zorro on October 15, 2007 at 11:33 PM
At moments like these one can only reflect on just how demoralizing it is that we have so few leaders with character and the ‘Malkins’ it takes to live their lives in an honest manner. Thank you Michelle for being one of the few.
Bill O’s show has gone so far downhill over the last six months. It’s like watching Hollywood Tonight, Washington style. Sad really. Maybe it will work out for him by introducing his influence over an ever expanding audience of light-hearted feely-goods. Me? I’m not so happy about our enemies.
Griz on October 15, 2007 at 11:34 PM
They’ll keep hatin’, we’ll keep readin’!
Ali-Bubba on October 15, 2007 at 11:36 PM
I think Michelle was referring to gum balls, but I am not sure.
F15Mech on October 15, 2007 at 11:39 PM
Yep yep I caught one earlier today and I think the tin foil hats and pimple cream is rotting their pea sized brains.
I was not stupid enough to buy their BS and thanks for the post to confirm my prior thoughts.
Mojack420 on October 15, 2007 at 11:44 PM
Thanks for the heads up Michelle. We’re just glad you’re still with us. It was nice to see you on the O’Reilly Factor but I like your Hot Air Live better anyways as it’s interactive.
Yakko77 on October 15, 2007 at 11:47 PM
Yeah, me too.
Allahpundit on October 15, 2007 at 11:51 PM
If the Digg comments are tame compared to other sites, gheeze…What is worng with some people? Don’t they see their own total and complete hypocricy?
I certainly hope the Democratic Party will publically excuse themselves from these people…and the one’s at MoveOn, etc also. But of course, I won’t hold my breath there…
JetBoy on October 15, 2007 at 11:52 PM
I did mean to add: Why doesn’t FOX News wise-up, kick Greta back to CNN, and give the 10pm slot to Michelle?
It would be a ratings coups…
JetBoy on October 15, 2007 at 11:54 PM
There’s a poll at the Atlanta Journal Consti-whatever. They’re asking for your opinion of a cartoon they have about Michelle.
It’s a crappy website, slower than a liberal’s synapses, but worth the time to go over there and vote.
jaime on October 15, 2007 at 11:57 PM
I do understand her reasoning.
It is just too bad that she has reduced her public appearances.
She is one of Conservative’s articulate spokespeople, very logical and knowledgable.
ColtsFan on October 16, 2007 at 12:03 AM
Painfully apparent ain’t what it used to be.
Pablo on October 16, 2007 at 12:13 AM
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Letting Gerald get away with such a tepid “apology” simply ratifies the hostile work environment. BOR knows all too well what that means, and I can’t believe he thought it was good enough.
The Monster on October 16, 2007 at 12:14 AM
About half an hour ago that poll was runing 74-26% against the cartoon. I’ll bet they weren’t expecting those results.
PowWow on October 16, 2007 at 12:18 AM
Michelle,
If your going to boycott your appearances on the
O’Reilly Show. Then PlEASE keep that ginning Idiot
Geraldo off the Hot Air site. He’s not worth the
cyber space. He adds nothing but total filth to the mix.
Texyank on October 16, 2007 at 12:21 AM
Holy crap, I made the mistake of clicking on that Digg link in Michelle’s article. I don’t consider myself easily shocked but damn, those people are vile. I need to wash my eyes out with holy water.
infidel4life on October 16, 2007 at 12:21 AM
Not that I know everything about the Geraldo/Michelle incident (I only know what I saw on FOX, HA and Michelle’s site).
Why should Michelle put up with that crap from a co-worker and so called journalist.
Not sure where you work, however if I ever said “I’d spit on [my co-worker] if I saw her”, I am pretty sure HR would be on me ASAP.
Since you can be arrested for doing that in most states.
F15Mech on October 16, 2007 at 12:26 AM
Hmmm, my suspicions were right… though I’m disappointed. I had a feeling that’s why we hadn’t seen Michelle, and why Crowley had silently taken her place. I just wished Michelle had gone on the show and made a stink about the Geraldo situation, rather than let him drive her out. She should have made Bill explain why he continues to have that POS on his show, especially when he’d speak such hatred toward the Factor guest host who was able to pull massive ratings.
Yeah, the Diggbats are going wild. It’s telling how many of these people there are. YouTube, Kos, HuffPo, YouTube… on any given issue, they come by the thousands… it makes you wonder “who the f*** are these people”? And they don’t discuss things, they launch hate filled drive by attacks.
At any rate, I understand Michelle’s position (again, or else I wouldn’t have correctly guessed why she’s not been on the show), but I still think she should have lashed out, rather than left the show. Same with Behar, you need to hit back, HARD!.
Like I said the other day (too lazy to retype)
RightWinged on October 16, 2007 at 12:35 AM
Michelle has to surface again somewhere. That voice is far too sweet to be silent…
stacman on October 16, 2007 at 12:35 AM
Last time I’ll ever listen to or watch O’Reilly. That did it.
PRCalDude on October 16, 2007 at 1:06 AM
Good move, Michelle. I’ll miss seeing you on Fox, but somebody has to take a stand. Sure as heck it won’t be O’Reilly (an actual media whore).
Splashman on October 16, 2007 at 1:19 AM
Heh. That never gets old.
Black Adam on October 16, 2007 at 1:22 AM
From Michelle’s site:
Good luck on getting an answer to that one. I think I was one of the first here to call Geraldo’s fake apology for what it was. Although I miss seeing Michelle on The Factor, she made the right decision because it’s not just about Geraldo. It’s also about FOX and their standards of what is acceptable. If things had gone the way they should have, FOX would have never shown that clip and they would have fired the Moustached Moron.
Connie on October 16, 2007 at 1:25 AM
Wish you were still on The Factor Michelle. You cannot be replaced. :(
katieanne on October 16, 2007 at 1:27 AM
Did you know that the nomonations for best blog are going on here?
I didn’t see Hot Air nominated in some of the categories, so I went ahead and put in the nominations. Same for Michelle’s blog at MM.com.
I made the nominations anonymously, which means (according to the instructions) that the nominations won’t show up for up to 24 hours.
The instructions also said that the nomination period is extended to Wed, 10/17.
jaime on October 16, 2007 at 1:27 AM
While I dont know what went on behind the scenes at FOX news…
I doubt Michelle just let “Geraldo drive her out”
When I got “upset” at my management (so it happened once or twice) I do not air that dirty laundry in front of my clients, that is unprofessional and uncalled for.
In Michelle’s case management is Fox News, client is the viewers.
While Geraldo’s statements were made publicly, and one could argue that it is now public she should “tell all”. I disagree.
Whatever happened should stay behind the scenes and I expect that we will never know the whole story, but in situation’s like this we do not need to.
F15Mech on October 16, 2007 at 1:34 AM
Great idea. I’d forgotten about that.
I nominated Stop Islamisation of Europe blog for best non-UK European blog.
Connie on October 16, 2007 at 1:38 AM
RESULTS AS OF NOW:
Do you like this cartoon?
Yes……….23.53%… 988
No………..76.47%… 3211
Be careful what you ask for, Atlanta Constitution Journal!
Michele, I wish this crap with “Mr. Mustache” could have ended
with your fans holding a “spit-on-GERALDO-marathon”differently.NightmareOnKStreet on October 16, 2007 at 1:51 AM
I don’t want to know what went on behind the scenes, I just think it shouldn’t be “Geraldo’s in, Michelle’s out” and that’s the end of it. I thought she should have nailed him publicly on the show one time, whether he had the balls to go toe to toe on it or not. It wasn’t a “behind the scenes” thing, it was a quote in the Boston Globe. The only “behind the scenes” thing she should keep to herself is the details of her departure from the show, I’m just saying what I’d like to have seen while she was still on it.
RightWinged on October 16, 2007 at 1:57 AM
Saw that posted on FR. Not a very good cartoon, but worth a no vote.

Hang in there, Michelle! You are WAY too good for The Factor! FOX news and O’Reilly have become cartoons and a joke! You will be presented an opportunity to use your considerable talents! You are too good not too!

Ditto for me. Hey, AP… can you ban pix of jerry rivers for us?

BO’s loss. Michele needs her own show, and BO needs to retire.
ctmom on October 16, 2007 at 7:53 AM
Bill’s treatment of Michelle inthis whole Geraldo affair was disgusting. Michelle has every right to be incensed. But remember that Geraldo, as despicable as he is, is one of Bill’s “Guyz” — like Al Sharpton or Ellis Henican, he is one of the annoying lefties Bill loves to have on.
Since Geraldo is a fellow on-staff FOXie, Bill is likely to give him a pass vs. an outside contributor like Michelle. His loss.
However, if Michelle is to boycott O’Reilly then
SHE MUST DO MORE VIDEO “RANTS” ON HER HOT AIR BLOG
to make up for it.
Deal, Michelle?
Always Right on October 16, 2007 at 8:07 AM
Hope MM reconsiders not appearing on the Factor, but I’m grateful that MM started Hotair and introduced us to AP and Bryan.
zb42 on October 16, 2007 at 8:49 AM
Well, it’s our loss, and Bill O’s too.
But the main thing is you’re still with FNC, and we can still hear you there, hopefully on your own show some day.
petefrt on October 16, 2007 at 9:01 AM
Unbelieveably ironic Digg comment!
Does wreckosaurus not read his own comrades comments or does he not realize that it’s kinda “ugly” to express racist comments with an occasional death wish thrown in for good measure?
Buy Danish on October 16, 2007 at 9:19 AM
just took a second to give my 2 cents about the lame DIGG community, and hopefully they’ll ban me. I never posted there anyway. That site is completely arse-backwards.
flipflopper on October 16, 2007 at 9:24 AM
I used to watch O’Reilly, then stopped because he wimped out on too many issues, then started watching again when Michelle was on. Now it is back to no O’Reilly again and there is nothing I am missing.
Wade on October 16, 2007 at 9:26 AM
EXACTLY. The only thing that BO and his producers understand is … ratings. We should ALL boycott The Factor. Tell your family. Tell your friends. Tell your co-workers. Turn up the heat. Give them something to think about–when their numbers drop down into MSNBC/KO territory.
CyberCipher on October 16, 2007 at 9:31 AM
I haven’t like Bill since he blew that debate with Moore years ago. Pompous ass.
frreal on October 16, 2007 at 9:39 AM
Clearly some people (Fox management, O’Reilly) have failed to show some, uh, between-legs fortitude regarding overt, on-air hostility. It’s a shame that the situation had to turn out this way. For the billionth time, though, Michelle outclasses everyone and shows a bunch of men how their parts are intended to be used.
Short-term, this has got to stink for Michelle. I can’t imagine that the loss of income from the show is pleasant, for instance. Long-term, this has got to pay off big-time, financially and in every other way, too. Even if it backfires monetarily, respect and dignity are more important.
Exit question: how does KP feel about losing her debate partner?
flutejpl on October 16, 2007 at 10:11 AM
I don’t know about a boycott, but I won’t watch O’Reilly anymore simply because there is no reason to now that Michelle is gone. I’m just not interested.
infidel4life on October 16, 2007 at 11:33 AM
Great stance on O’Reilly, Boss, don’t blame you one bit. O’R never was that thrilling except when you were on. He definitely dropped the ball not backing you up against Jerry Rivers. I’m down to watching Britt every day and an occasional Big Story. I’ll look forward to seeing you there.
countywolf on October 16, 2007 at 11:43 AM
Actually, the only reason ever to watch Fox News from 8:00pm to 9:00pm was to see Michelle Malkin’s smile.
Larraby on October 16, 2007 at 12:11 PM
There is a big difference between O’Reilly and Rush or Michelle: Rush and Michelle are entertaining! It’s always fun to listen to Rush or Michelle whether you are interested in the issue they are discussing or not.
O’Reilly tends to make every topic about himself and takes a righteous tone when he’s making a point, so even when I agree with him, I have to turn him off: he’s annoying.
landlines on October 16, 2007 at 12:22 PM
Here’s my $0.02 on this… I applaud Michelle for standing on principle; if she doesn’t stand up for herself, nobody else will.
But I question whether it’s a self defeating move. Though many here, myself included, question whether Bill’s show is declining in quality, there is no debate that he has the #1 rated show on FNC. Hence, Michelle’s twice-a-week exposure on that show meant she was getting exposed to FNC viewers. She also got to sub for Bill, and I think that did a lot to boost her on-air skills and popularity with viewers — all of which helps build her career and her platform to share her ideas.
It’s a tough question. I don’t know whether I would have made the same decision as Michelle in the same circumstance. It’s certainly a bold move. But I think some of the commenters here should understand that it’s a risky move, and saying “O’Reilly sucks, good for you!!” misses the point.
Outlander on October 16, 2007 at 1:05 PM
F15Mech on October 16, 2007 at 1:34 AM
I like the way you think. I agree though I like justice and I am sympathetic to the heroine of this story.
Spirit of 1776 on October 16, 2007 at 2:22 PM
With all the deserved praise and calls for Michele to have her own show or take over permanently for O’Reilly, maybe Bill’s ego was wounded or he saw Michele as more competitor than collaborator. When faced with the decision of how to handle Geraldo’s unmanly & unprofessional comments, he may have seen a way to get rid of Michele without having people suspect it was his ego that won over his “Malkins” when he went up against Mr. Spitting Moustache. Just sayin…
I would personally like to see Michele have a roundtable-type show with rotating, informative, topical folks and well known blog hosts as guests talking shop. (Think “Red Eye”, but without the raunch)
NightmareOnKStreet on October 16, 2007 at 2:31 PM
Well said, NightmareOnKStreet. As I stated recently, I watch Bill’O less and less these days because everytime I do he seems to get older, whiter and weirder. Everything seems to be more and more about him, the attacks on him, his integrity and how he is a paragon of virtue. Worship me!
I wrote to Fox after the Geraldo attack on Michelle and was pleased to see Geraldo eat crow a week later, but I never imagined that he would still be there now and Michelle would be gone (life’s not fair!)
I like the round table idea as I always enjoyed those type of shows. Remember “This Week with David Brinkley”? The shows still exists but now the host is George Stephanopoulos, truly an unbiased mediator, NOT! Another show I enjoyed was Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher. The format of the show was a brilliant idea but had the same problem as This Week; it is always 3 or 4 liberals and one conservative and they view that as fair and balanced! Same thing with Hardball, you get the picture…
So, let Michelle have a political discussion/debate show to offset these other shows. Guess which show will end up with higher ratings. Come on, Michelle! We are with you, you can do it!
yubley on October 16, 2007 at 2:52 PM
yubley, they could call it “Malkin’s Red Meat”! or “Red Meat with Malkins” ;oP
NightmareOnKStreet on October 16, 2007 at 3:34 PM
Boy, I miss one news cycle, and the whole world goes to hell in a handbasket.
I knew about the Geraldo “spitting” incident, but I didn’t hear about the fallout until I read about it here. I’m curious as to how much O’Reilly himself screwed this one up, or if it was just his people. (Can someone bring me up to speed here?) He always struck me as a gentleman under that thick hide of his, which is what kept me watching him as much as I did.
In some respects, I’m not surprised by this. I know most of you would salivate at the thought of Mrs Malkin having her own show. Now, I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting her in person, but I’ve observed from a safe distance some apparent reticence on her part, at that next level of public noteriety in relation to her personal and family life.
Also, it is possible to be overexposed. You tend to lose touch with the little people. I just don’t see her going for that either. Of course, I could be wrong…
