Join Michelle in this post at noon today for our live Ustream broadcast covering Gore Derangement Syndrome, the magazine correction of the year, the Code Pinkos in Berkeley, and more. Tune in!
Update: Thank you everyone for tuning in. Here’s the recording for those who missed us live or want to watch it again.
Update: The Ustream playback wasn’t working so I put the recording up on blip.tv. The show starts about a minute in.
I have a bleg–are there any serious Quartz Composer programmers in the HA readership? If you’re familiar with Quartz Composer and have some interest in working with us on a small-scale project, please email me at bryan – at – hotair – dot – com.
Update: By the way, here’s the recording of the after-show chat.

What’s the over/under on the number of cheesey poofs Michelle eats? =)
SouthernDem on October 15, 2007 at 11:49 AM
Going up against Rush!
What to watch?
edgehead on October 15, 2007 at 11:51 AM
How do you tune in?
Babs on October 15, 2007 at 11:53 AM
One whole bag cheese puffs, or other heart stopper, two sodas.
doufree on October 15, 2007 at 11:54 AM
I’m having spaghetti. Now THAT would be fun to watch them eat on a live broadcast. Consider it a challenge!
GoodBoy on October 15, 2007 at 11:56 AM
Just hang around and then refresh this post at about noon and the video will magically appear.
Bryan on October 15, 2007 at 11:56 AM
Hey everyone–if you want your Hot Air screenname to show up in the comments, you need to type (for example)
And your comments will be identified with your name.

josetheguerilla on October 15, 2007 at 12:09 PM
You know, The New Republic could have the Correction of the Year trophy in the bag… if they’d just issue the correction.
saint kansas on October 15, 2007 at 12:11 PM
Back the camera off just a smidge. Don’t need to see up MM’s nose.
doufree on October 15, 2007 at 12:17 PM
I don’t know that the life thing adds much and the video quality is lower.
thuja on October 15, 2007 at 12:17 PM
By the way, is that a Mao cap you’re wearing?
doufree on October 15, 2007 at 12:18 PM
I’m using Seamonkey and I’m getting an IO error when logging onto the chat.
Nethicus on October 15, 2007 at 12:22 PM
Hey Michelle, could you get a little closer to the camera? Come in closer…no…come in…come in further…come in closer…really close.
Haw! Haw! Just kidding! You look great!
saint kansas on October 15, 2007 at 12:22 PM
Getting the same error on Firefox and IE. Is there a max # of chatters on the client?
Nethicus on October 15, 2007 at 12:25 PM
Why o’ why do they decide to run their show during Rush?
If they are going to do this in the future they will need a transcript machine or maybe AP can type out what Michelle is saying in real time.
Weebork on October 15, 2007 at 12:27 PM
very cool,
how do I log in w/screen name
shooter on October 15, 2007 at 12:30 PM
Great show, fun format, have a great lunch Michelle and Bryan!
omnipotent on October 15, 2007 at 12:31 PM
Very positive trend.
T J Green on October 15, 2007 at 12:31 PM
Thanks you guys made my morning bearable and very nice grafics .
Mojack420 on October 15, 2007 at 12:32 PM
I like more of you guys presenting your take on the news, without committing yourself to responding to a bunch of Qs from us. Just respond to the inquiries you find especially interesting.
doufree on October 15, 2007 at 12:32 PM
This post is to allow me to be known by my name in the live chat.
Weebork on October 15, 2007 at 12:34 PM
I like it. It’s great to get the news live from you at (pre-)lunch time. I have trouble with the chat end of it, though, but at least I can watch. Thanks!
Numenorean on October 15, 2007 at 12:34 PM
Neat, finally caught the tail end of one.
Bad Candy on October 15, 2007 at 12:39 PM
dagnabbit….I actually thought you guys might do one of these yesterday. Not that I actually have work I
couldshould be doing…JetBoy on October 15, 2007 at 12:40 PM
can’t see anything
ctmom on October 15, 2007 at 12:48 PM
Awesome job guys. Thank you so much.
GoodBoy on October 15, 2007 at 12:51 PM
Oh… but make it longer next time.. we need an hour!
GoodBoy on October 15, 2007 at 12:52 PM
I started watching it, but the feed killed Camino for me. As that’s practically firefox, it seems a bit buggy still.
Too bad, it was getting good, too.
Vanceone on October 15, 2007 at 12:58 PM
Nothing but a black screen counting down the minutes and now it’s stuck. Technology!!
Dread Pirate Roberts VI on October 15, 2007 at 1:05 PM
I was eating the very same cheese puffs in Eng Chem and my professor stopped his lecture and asked me if I knew of any biological benefits to eating anything bright orange.
With that stupid vacant look on my face he gave me the only benefit
You don’t have to be embalmed when you die
EricPWJohnson on October 15, 2007 at 1:39 PM
Think progress has a story up saying Michelle is quitting the O’Reilly Factor over their handling of the Rivera incident. Truth or fiction?
LakeRuins on October 15, 2007 at 1:43 PM
Would be cool to know about these ahead of time so people can watch it live. Or is there a set schedule I don’t know of or something?
RW Wacko on October 15, 2007 at 1:53 PM
Didn’t you get the memo?
LakeRuins on October 15, 2007 at 1:54 PM
Pardon my cluelessness, but what’s a “bleg”?
I’m disappointed. Like some others here, I was hoping that she would take over the Factor.
Bigfoot on October 15, 2007 at 2:17 PM
A Web-based request; the unholy union of “beg” and “blog.”
P.S. The video worked fine on my work computer (Windows) running Firefox and Explorer, but the chat wouldn’t work.
saint kansas on October 15, 2007 at 2:29 PM
So you’re the other one using Camino!
saint kansas on October 15, 2007 at 2:30 PM
Bleg:
An excellent glossary of blog terminology can be found at samizdata.
RushBaby on October 15, 2007 at 2:30 PM
Michelle and Bryan just going to lunch here in central time zone missed your live show. Anyway heres a thought broadcast live during the next debates. We all can watch at home and we can all talk about the questions and er answers.
You dont have to run the debates over the video hell most of us have teevees.
Think about it
Kevin43 on October 15, 2007 at 2:31 PM
I’m always the last to find out about these things.
Of course, the fact that I don’t have the computer on 24/7 has more to do with the failure to get this memo than anything else.
steveegg on October 15, 2007 at 2:32 PM
Ahhh, using the old stone knives and bear skins to access the interwebs eh…
doriangrey on October 15, 2007 at 3:00 PM
I can’t afford Algore’s electric bill.
steveegg on October 15, 2007 at 3:01 PM
This was a pretty cool evolution of the site. I missed it live, but the recording was good.
Hopefully we will see a longer format in the future.
PBoilermaker on October 15, 2007 at 3:03 PM
I like the idea about liveblogging the debates….
RW Wacko on October 15, 2007 at 3:16 PM
Ditto here at work as well, video worked fine but chat was unavailable.
omnipotent on October 15, 2007 at 5:06 PM
to slow.
oldelpasoan on October 15, 2007 at 7:35 PM
Once the show is down pat, I’d love to see a weekly 1 hour Live Vent Special at 8PM Monday nights. Yep, I’d pay money for that.
Zorro on October 15, 2007 at 8:50 PM
Soooooo….when is AP going to appear with Michelle & Bryan? ;)
Connie on October 16, 2007 at 1:50 AM
Classic Malkin. Great. I sure miss the original Hot Air vents
roydee43 on October 16, 2007 at 6:53 AM
Is it me or is the virtual background the same one they use on Naked News?
Not that we would know anything about that.
