I wish I knew more about Hunter, but I hear good things from San Diego. I am hoping that he will find a spot in the 08 republican presidency to prepare him for the presidency some day.

And I, like you, will support whoever the rep nominee is.

Well, if I had my 'druthers,' the nominee would be Duncan Hunter. But, as we discussed in a previous thread, his campaign seems to be going nowhere. That being the case, my second choice has to be Fred. His positions on gun crontrol (hitting your target), immigration (do it legally and you'll be welcome), taxes (keep them low), etc. are closer to mine than the other two front-runners.

And just to be clear again, regardless of who wins the nomination, I will vote Republican in the general.

Because it draws out the people who would rather fixate on me instead of dealing with the facts about Fred.

Maybe all these high power conservatives on his team are really just there for the possible handout when Fred converts his, I mean his groupies, hard earned $8 million into a PAC and is looking for someone to share it with? How many sucka’s donated more bucks when those people joined his campaign? And I use campaign in the loosest of terms. Basically this could be a campaign to fleece the pockets of the most ignorant of our society?

He csd, is that you once donated some money to his campaign, just before he dropped out and started that PAC?

Does anyone know what Fred did to tick-off Dobson? I had thought that Fred would have been the most appealing candidate to social conservatives.

a strong statement by Fred. Ronald Reagan like IMO. Reagan did the same in 1980. when everyone was running for more government to fix the carter mess Reagan said no it should be less government. Fred's message if it every gets out will be deafening. I see an effort by the media and the rest of the Reps to paint him as lazy and no fire in the belly. It matters not. the message will win. Side Note Huckabee was on CNBC this morning talking about the fair tax. I like both men. Rudy wants to take my guns and regulate my internet. Mitt has some good ideas but he reminds me of Hillary saying whatever we want to hear for our vote.

No, just trying to figure out your rather…nuanced…position on deferments. From what I’ve read, it seems to be that deferments are fine, unless they’re Giuliani’s deferments, which are bad.

How many ways do I hve to explain it?

What do I have to do? Put it to rhyme?

You just don't want to believe it no matter what.

What we got here is... failure to communicate.

The Romney signs are appearing more and more here in NH. All the signs are just a trickle yet, but Mitt, Hillary and Ron Paul are the most prevalent so far.

It had better not be, because at this moment of action it looks like she probably will win.

What about after the primary?

Would you go 3rd party, sit it out (a vote for Hillary), or something else?

I was talking about the general. That's why I don't want Rudy to win the primary.

Maybe the Republican party should schism. That would allow the Rinos to take the center and allow Republicans to hold the right. I think independents would be more willing to vote for the Rinos than Dinos, which means less success for the Democrats. And then none of the parties would be able to hold a majority.

You'd have to have coalitions to get anything done. But at least you knew what the parties and candidates stood for without all the deception and pandering.

And Slublog, and others, thanks for today’s amusement by recalling that ‘child’ with his “My name is John (Forbes) Kerry, and I’m reporting for duty” ... ... ... I never even believed the exit polls on election day.

Entelechy on October 15, 2007 at 4:33 PM

John Kerry's secret MySpace entry:
*
Hi there fellow bloggers. My name is United States Senator John Forbes Kerry from the great state of Massachusetts. You can call me JFK if you want. I was born on December 11, 1943, although people tell me that I look at least 20 years younger. It's probably my great hair and rugged good looks.

I graduated from Yale in June 1966 in the top 1% of my class. To earn extra money during the summers, I loaded trucks in a grocery warehouse and sold encyclopedias door to door. That is probably one of the reasons that I am so humble. Over my four years at Yale, I maintained a 96 grade average and received a 101 average in my senior year.

I am one of the most senior members of that grand and much loved and respected institution known as the U.S. Senate. Probably the only living Senator even a little bit greater than me is my dear friend Ted Moore Kennedy. I also have a very high IQ. Very high. Much higher than that creep who stole the election from me. I know that he stole it because exit polls are never ever wrong.

I am also a great war hero. I set all kinds of records for heroism when I was in Vietnam. I was grievously wounded at least three times yet continued to insist on staying in the fight when lesser men would have given up. I won the bronze star with extra V's for extra valor and the Silver Star for defeating a whole battalion of NVA with my bare hands.

I sometimes like to chill out after a long day of serving the American people by having a double martini with my good friend Ted. We usually have a servant bring 21 double martinis. I get one and Ted gets one for each of his fingers and each of his toes. Contrary to what some of my very few enemies say I never marry women for just their money. They must also have a pulse. BTW, did I mention that I was in Vietnam? I was also in Cambodia, so don't forget that!

I would like to think that I am open minded, honest, polite, heroic and trustworthy. And I appreciate the same qualities in others although I am realistic enough to know that no one else could come close to me.

Who I’d like to meet:
…other progressive bloggers. Other great war heroes who hate that damn S-T-U-P-I-D Texan in the White House. Cool people who live close to Washington D.C. so that we can get together, talk about you for about 30 second and then spend about 3 hours talking about me. BTW, did I mention that I was in Vietnam and Cambodia? Just one more BTW, if anyone has found my magic hat please return to me.

I think it was more that my father and uncles had all been in and most of my friends were going in. It was expected back then.

That was probably the main thing, that and being young and stupidly naive

Now that, as a many generation military family person, is a sentiment I can fully understand and relate to.

Besides not one, aside from McCain, who will not make it, has war experience, from both sides. It simply won’t matter in ‘08.

Actually there is Duncan Hunter I believe.

Also Hillary, in a way. Keeping Bill even part way under control was probably pretty much like a military campaign.
