Just for the record, my vote goes for George.

They keep saying how beautiful SF is, and it has its good points, but San Diego beats it hands down for beauty, food (yes, food), weather, beaches, culture (no BJ in public steets), and the greatest Mexican food in the world.

You have to understand something. Chicken is playing to the voters in SF. Those quotes probably played well with the voters there. He really doesn’t (or at least shouldn’t) care what anyone else thinks about it. He isn’t running for national office.

I like when “Chicken John” does the scare quotes when he says “news program.”

I wish the host would have presented air quotes when calling them candidates. Unfortunately, we’re talking about San Fransicko and this really is what voters have to look forward to. The incumbent must be thrilled, however, I’m startled to see he only has a 70% approval rating. That means (potentially) 30% of the electorate prefers Chicken John or the “naturist”. Speaking of which, I hope they “Fabreeze” the chair he was sitting in. Ugh! I’m so glad those people are half a continent away from me.

Actually, I KNOW Chicken John personally and I would actually vote for him if I lived in San Francisco. I don’t believe that he is actually expecting to win but his candidacy is forcing the SF department of elections to clean a lot of stuff up like being able to donate to candidates with Pay Pal, filing documents electronically by PDF rather than in hard copy and a lot of other things.

Chicken is also about personal responsibility and isn’t really into musing about what “somebody” should do. He is also very sarcastic so I would take a lot of what he says with a grain of salt. Right now he is probably trying to get noticed and he has a history of being quite “interesting” when he is in that phase of things. I have seen the guy motivate people in private projects. His heart is in the right place most of the time.

If nothing else, his running is going to cause some parts of the government of San Francisco to be dragged kicking and screaming into at least the 1990′s. He is going to probably get the spotlight on some issues and most likely focus on the people taking the bull by the horns and getting some things done and stop waiting for “someone to do something”.

Sadly, I don’t live in SF so I can’t vote for him. But maybe I should send him a little of my heard-earned.
