Of course, Dana Goldestien, in her response regarding her condemnation of Ann Coulter’s comment on her religious faith and Jews becoming Perfected by following Christ and Christianity – a fast track, like Federal Express, while stating that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s appearance at Columbia, and the vicious statements that he made are something she agrees with because she supports free speech, are contradictory.

Free speech for Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, but not for Ann Coulter.

That sounds logical, fair, and just.

We are not “chosen” in the sense of Tom Smothers telling his brother Dick “Mom always liked you best.” It is referring to being chosen for G-d’s representatives to mankind. This can result in success, failure or anything in between.

We’re supposed to set an example. Unfortunately there are no lack of Jews who are individually none the better, and more the worse than non-Jews. That shouldn’t be news.

I hope that clears up what we Jews have been taught “Am Ha’Nivchar” – “The Chosen People” – means.
