Joy Behar: Michelle’s “a selfish bitch, probably”

posted at 8:45 pm on October 13, 2007 by Allahpundit

As I said once before, Rosie drew most of the flak but there’s never been any doubt who the weakest link is in the View’s intellectual chain. We’ve gotten a lot of mileage out of this braying idiot over the past year, and while it’d be lovely to think that some of it trickled down to her and provoked a little payback, I suspect this is just Behar being Behar — ingratiating herself with the rest of the team by taking a crude, witless swipe at conservatives. And to think, I bought the boss a View mug last Christmas. You may hate us, Joy, but we like you.

Ah well. The one nice thing about leftist-approved attacks like this is that they reset the bar for what constitutes civilized political discourse. File “selfish bitch” away somewhere safe for future use. Click the image to watch.

Joy is jealous that Michelle has a brilliant brain and she (Joy) has a note in its stead which has b r a i n typed on it.

Entelechy on October 13, 2007 at 8:52 PM

If she feels so strongly why doesn’t she pitch in and pay for other children’s health care. Wait I forgot liberals only want to help everyone with our money.

KC-135A on October 13, 2007 at 8:52 PM

You should have warned us that Krugman was their too. Unable to provide an argument for socialized medicine they trot out the widows and orphans. Without logical fallicies these leftards would not have an “argument” to offer. Although, they should be given credit for switching from ad hominem to ad misericordiam.

http://www.infidels.org/library/modern/mathew/logic.html

This is the Appeal to Pity, also known as Special Pleading. The fallacy is committed when someone appeals to pity for the sake of getting a conclusion accepted. For example:

“I did not murder my mother and father with an axe! Please don’t find me guilty; I’m suffering enough through being an orphan.”

Kalapana on October 13, 2007 at 8:55 PM

Well, Joy would certainly know about being a bitch, right Star?

PS., “Behar” is an anagram of “rehab” — which, judging by the (awesome) screen cap, she looks like she needs.

Harpazo on October 13, 2007 at 8:55 PM

Dear gawd…imagine sitting between Krugman and Behar…and Maher right in front of you.

Nightmare!

I agree totally…using a child for political purposes is low. But alas, politicians still kiss babies…and prop their kids on their laps during interviews. The more we say we don’t like it, in reality…the more effective it unfortunately is.

She actually had a radio show on WABC about 15 years ago; she lacked talent then and certainly never acquired any since.

She looks like eight miles of bad road.

JammieWearingFool on October 13, 2007 at 9:06 PM

My bad they, of course, didn’t switch from ad hominem they just added a little pity patter to the leftwing talking points. Notice how the guy with a Ph.D in economics didn’t want to discuss the “abstractions” that are the substance of his profession. What a tool.

Kalapana on October 13, 2007 at 9:13 PM

Watching that was harder than seeing LSU lose to KU, I couldn’t even watch the whole thing. Evil calling the kettle….

Mayer is worried about the lost 9 Billion in Iraq like we lost it.

Never has he admitted that it was money that had been frozen during the regime before the war. We were simply returning their money to them from the bank freeze to fund the country.

What did he expect accountants and such in a post war country that doesn’t even have banks.

Mazztek on October 13, 2007 at 9:43 PM

Tucker isn’t able to put forward a conservative argument about this debate either. He allows them all to say that conservatives hate people.

The one thing that Katrina SHOULD HAVE taught America is that you are NOT SUPPOSED TO RELY ON THE GOVERNMENT. If you rely on the government, you will find yourself with your house surrounded by water, while dehydrating and waiting in line for days to be plucked off of your roof.

The government is not supposed to be robin hood. This program was robin hood backwards because it would take from the poor to give to the rich. This is not the government’s role.

The government’s role is to PROVIDE FOR THE COMMON DEFENSE!

Now, as for the health insurance issue, more things like this, and this should happen at the state level. This is truly a states rights issue as it is being solved by the states. They are creating a ‘risk pool’ for people who otherwise would not qualify for insurance. This way they don’t have to pay more than 2 x the normal rate for insurance.

But of course, it is much easier to hide behind a sick kid and say if you aren’t for taking from the poor to give to the rich you are a ‘selfish bitch’.

And isn’t Behar supposed to be a comedian? She failed.

Except that it’s not true. They can say those things about us, but if we say the same things about them, we’re still criticized.

Just take Coulter. She’s never said a thing of a political opponent that wasn’t said of her or conservatives first, yet even conservatives don’t want her saying those things.

Kruman:

they always attack programs that work

You mean like tax cuts that will put us in a “fiscal quagmire”

CaptainObvious on October 13, 2007 at 10:16 PM

It would be funny if it wasnt so obvious their attempts to stiffle objection by using a kid. even here they say we are attacking a kid that cant afford insurance. yet when you show if they would have taken the initiative to buy it before the accident which they obviously could have then the arguement is void. Yet because they cant defend that they say your “swiftboating a 12 year old” it is kind of true though bringing out the truth about a situation is what the swiftboaters did yet the left tries to say its attacking them. which in of itself is a little funny if you think about it.

Joy Behar who?

ricelchew on October 13, 2007 at 11:35 PM

Actually, I think Tucker is becoming more impressive since being on MSNBC. He consistently goes after CAIR, calls horse apples where he sees them and, in this particular episode of Maher’s late-stage (and if he keeps talking about the South and Alabama in that manner, potentially terminal) BDS, had Maher acknowledging that Behar and Krugman were empty fools. I was especially impressed by his attempts to enlighten Krugman on Blackwater, then (when met by a furious and ineffective slapstorm hail of childish falsehoods and insults) his simple statement that Krugman didn’t know whereof he spoke, so debate would be fruitless.

I thought he did a pretty good job of keeping that episode from its otherwise inevitable degeneration into a left-spouting circle jerk ( Wouldn’t want to be hetero-normative about the name Joy.) Loupes and tweezers available at the door.

Uncle Pinky on October 13, 2007 at 11:45 PM

I watched it,, but ,, it was just a waste of my time. A half conservative or whatever he was,, surrounded by 3 morons spewing nonsense while an even more moronic audience applauds.
I would love to see these caring libs pressed to give over half of there money,, or even more for the children’s health care! I think someone out there needs to figure how much each rich lib makes and how much we the people think they should be allowed to keep,, and then be pressed to give it over “for the children!” I want to see them say “no” on camera! I think the Clintons need to be pressed to hand over 3/4 of their fortune for the children. Even more. Why not! Government idiots like Hitlery can come out with a Brave new Plan for “the masses”,,, We the people can come up with a plan of our own! The Clintons,, that Soros guy alone could contribute billions a year for health care,, lots of Hollywood stars have more money then they need,, No strings attached,, they need to just start forking it over directly to the hospitals, pharmacies, doctors offices out of their pockets! They should be asked at every opportunity why they would not be willing to give up 50% of their incomes so as the rest of America would not have to be taxed! They could start covering children tomorrow by just writing large checks directly to the hospitals. No laws need to be passed. No changes in tax code. No ones property needs to be seized. No campaigning,, none of that,, they have millions,, they need to be asked why they do not just hand it over now. They need to be asked why they think it is more important for them to keep two or three homes while little Joey and little Susie go without medicine. Bill Clinton could continue to make his speeches and just give the money to the kids. One speech could buy a child a cancer treatment! One speech bill!! why won’t you do it?! Think of all the cancer treatments they could buy in one year! these libs on the View,, they could at least each contribute several million a year I am sure. How much does Barbra Wa Wa make?? Senator Kennedy still has some of the old Kennedy fortune I suppose,, Ted Turner gave a billion to the UN,,, doesn’t he care enough about the kids to just hand over another billion or more each year for their health care?? I am certain the whole health care crisis could be solved if all the libs just cared enough to put up there own money.

RightWinged on October 14, 2007 at 12:59 AM

This is awfully familiar coming from Joy(less). Remember “I know what this party is capable of”? She imagines what someone’s like, and that’s good enough for her to spout off her opinion as if it had some foundation in reality.

Behar has never met Michelle. What makes her think she can know what’s “probable” about her?

The Monster on October 14, 2007 at 1:10 AM

In March of 2005, Krugman wrote a column in which he raised the specter of creeping theocracy in America. Best I can figure he’s the guy that started this wave of publishing about maniacal evangelicals in the halls of power.

Now he’s on this show admitting that Bush hasn’t done jack for evangelical voters.

What a complete tool.

John on October 14, 2007 at 2:42 AM

Uh, Krugman is such a worthless lying POS. I can’t even stand looking at him.

But Michelle, I hope you lobby to get on The View to burry that shameful piece of garbage Behar. To me, not issuing a strong response, would be like Bush bending over and taking it as he’s done throughout his presidency, as he’s watched his poll numbers go down and support for his policies disappear, primarily because he’s just bent over and taken it.

These aren’t the old days, when not defending yourself to stay out of the mudslinging is the way to go, because you’ll come out looking better on the other side. Perception is reality, and if you don’t hit back, it looks to people like you are the one in the wrong, and it also becomes open season on you.

I haven’t seen you on O’Reilly in a while, I’m not sure what’s going on because O’Reilly has silently slipped Crowley in there, without explanation. I hope you’ll be back on, and roast Geraldo’s nuts one of these days… luckily in that case, though, he’s already a joke to everyone on the left and the right.

Seriously though, you need to put Behar in check, and I’d like to see you ram down the throats of these morons, the fact that people weren’t attackign “the kid”, they were attacking the use of a kid, who’s parents own $400k in property, have 2 big SUVs, and a heavy duty work pick-up truck, and parents who barely work.

Honestly, I think you should start some sort of campaign to expose Behar on this, like O’Reilly did with Media Matters. You should harp on this, and make a big stink until the country knows what an atrocious human being Behar is, and force an apology. It’s too bad you weren’t there to ask her “have you read anything I’ve written about this situation?”

Anyway, I just hope you don’t try to “stay above it all”. I know you’ll respond, probably with a heavy dose of sarcasm, at your blog, but I think you need to go further than that. Maybe Laura Ingraham would be a place to start.

Hey, maybe Al Sharpton would show some outrage over “a white woman, callin’ a brown woman a bitch”. Hmmm?

It is clear that Behar has a potty mouth, and that she has a rude and offensive personality.

How rude to call Michelle a selfish bitch!

Of course, Behar appears to be a superficial person, and the company she was in on Maher’s program, appeared to all sing from the same song book – liberal, left wing, anti-war, anti-Bush, anti-Conservative, anti-Republican, all Republicans are white, racist, KKK, women oppressing, xenophibic demons. Behar had to sing along with the others, otherwise she might be a misfit and lose her standing as a sensitive, caring liberal.

Really, calling Michelle that name is so sickening and offensive! Does Behar kiss her mother with that foul mouth of hers?

Behar’s only talent is shooting off her ignorant mouth. I know it’s an old, overworked cliché but it’s so appropriate in this case . . . if brains were dynamite this woman couldn’t blow her nose.

rplat on October 14, 2007 at 7:48 AM

Joy Behar is classless, clueless, and dumb. And not funny. She gets paid to insult people who are better than her. What has she ever accomplished in her life that qualifies her to criticize Michelle? I couldn’t think of a more stark contrast in two women. Michell is a beautiful, brilliant, classy lady who has done wonderful, important things for this country. An American treasure. Joy Behar is an ignorant embarrassment who should be ashamed. And she’s Butt-ugly.

Tucker did well, but I would have loved for him to say something like, “The fact that this kid needs health care is not the issue. The issue is his parents can afford health insurance but chose not to pay for any. Michelle and others are simply pointing out that fact, and arguing that it isn’t the taxpayer’s responsibility to pay for his medical bills – it’s the responsibility of his Mom and Dad.”
And Maher as usual was just dying to trash Christians.

It’s a shame that so many people owe their entire political understanding to shows like this. I hope they aren’t voters.

The Joy Behar Sure-Fire Comedy Gold Formula™:

1. Never promote an original or positive thought; riff on the statement of the person before you, adding “Hitler” or “Nazi” for that added comic spice.
2. Know the intellectual level of your audience and always send the cheapest shot they’ll buy. E.g., “How about that airline food…” silence; pause … “Um, it’s still smarter than Bush!” laugh riot

saint kansas on October 14, 2007 at 8:29 AM

It is amazing that comedians think they are Political Pundits when in reality they are just regurgitating the leftist view of the truth in a manner (timing) that the audience of like minded people who are filtered buy the velvet rope keeper.

Mahar has to read notes for laughs. Behar thinks she’s funny by butting in and agreeing with others comments and adding a Hillary cackle and shaking her cellulose filled mammeries(T.V. does practice good taste by not inflicting us with having to view the rest of her Rosie body).

Neither, have ever had a rational thought of their own and before they considers someone wealthy they should post their tax returns first.

I have never seen either of them in combat gear talking with real targets. the U.S. GI, who are keeping the islamic fundamentalist from putting an XXXXXXXL burka on Behar; or Maher their court jester at public beheading (because he thinks others problems are funny, and would tell the islamic fundamentalists they are the greatest things since sliced head that’s comedy for bread)

I only watch the View when I’m forced to because it’s on the TV at the gym and I can’t change it. It’s a lightweight program and I’m surprised it gets so much attention.

Forget Behar.

Whattabout that mumbling liberal troll Krugman.

Zach on October 14, 2007 at 8:27 AM

I agree.
Krugbaby makes Behar and her idiotic words sound
entertaining. The MM is a “B” has the same impact as
Bush is a cowboy. Zero impact. Krugbaby writes for the
communist Times and is considered scholarly by many loons.

And to think, I bought the boss a View mug last Christmas.

Now we know why she won’t agree to pony up for your iPhone.

Typical Bill Maher show, three Libs and one Conservative who has no spine.

Oh, I’m sure Maher wants to have a Krauthammer-type on his tired little bash Americafest, it’s just that he can’t even find the balls to ask him on.

Look, just because Behar is an ugly moron, doesn’t mean she take her self-loathing out on an intelligent, beautiful leader like MM. I am getting tired of these liberal porkers turning on people because they are conservative, lovely, and intelligent.
