Why would be so exceptional if he were? Most winners of the Nobel Prize run some sort of campaign to get it. Perhaps, you’d like to find something more fair to criticize Gore for.

thuja on October 11, 2007 at 5:53 PM

Nobel prizes (and Pulitzers) usually cause me to think less of the recipient. The prizes are just awards that the left gives to its heros.

jaime on October 11, 2007 at 5:57 PM

I just wish he would never make the news Ever again.
Gore, go away. please go away.
Media, please stop reporting on quite possibly the most boring man on the planet.

Don’t be a buzzkill, we’re having fun.

Bad Candy on October 11, 2007 at 6:05 PM

I think thuja has a little Gorewood thingy going on.

Like the Oscars – Tarnished and reduced in value.

….Well,it’s about time Mr.Gore gets recognized for inventing the Internet….

Regney on October 11, 2007 at 6:20 PM

History will not be so kind to Mr Bore. Even after a few years anyone with half-a-brain knows he’s coo-coo. Imagine after 40 years how many will have caught on. He should have went silently into the night. But, you never know… maybe the best is yet to come!

Griz on October 11, 2007 at 6:21 PM

I was a little fast in my first response. Most Nobel Prize winners deserve only to be tasered a few times. It is indicative of the unhealthy relationship between the environmentalist and the left that Gore stands a chance. In actuality, the left has as much reason to hate ecology as they hate economics. Environmentalisms should ally with the right.

I do understand the ideological weirdnesses of a certain “pro-life” interpretation of Christianity and Libertarianism are inherently anti-environmental, but I would point out that not even a fundamentalist Christianity needs to be against the environment. Consider the Christian President Teddy Roosevelt.

thuja on October 11, 2007 at 6:23 PM

Much better candidates.

And they’re not frauds.

JammieWearingFool on October 11, 2007 at 6:24 PM

Is that Nobel or Lenin?

Speakup on October 11, 2007 at 6:48 PM

You know he’s just begging for recognition, due to inventing the internet which enabled a blogger to debunk the global warming myth as evidenced by the NASA temperature monitoring glitch.

Sweet.

Mcguyver on October 11, 2007 at 6:54 PM

thuja on October 11, 2007 at 6:23 PM

I can’t speak to what your defenition of fundamentalist is, but I’m a Christian and I’ve been an environmentalist my whole life. It just sucks that the left corrupted the movement. It keeps me from doing anything substantial, meaning it limits me to being an environmentalist in my every day life, but not involving myself with any of the wacked out tree hugging groups.

And ditto Bad Candy per your first comment. This is a pretty innocent thread.

Please Please Please, I want to be just like Arafat and Carter when I grow up.

Wade on October 11, 2007 at 7:23 PM

If Al loses will he demand recounts?

Wade on October 11, 2007 at 7:25 PM

Environmentalisms should ally with the right.

thuja on October 11, 2007 at 6:23 PM

They do, but to distinguish themselves from the nutjobs they tend to call themselves “Conservationists”.

Kowboy on October 11, 2007 at 7:30 PM

I’m still hoping Rush wins.

GREENTURTLE on October 11, 2007 at 7:33 PM

Ahhh yes, Gore dressed as the Amish woman he wishes he was. Sorry, didn’t mean to insult the Amish.

boomer on October 11, 2007 at 7:41 PM

How will Gore get overseas, rowboat?

Any other way will destroy the environment, and I for one am tired of dead penguins, sea monsters, and polar bears washing up on the Texas shores because the waters are too warm.

madmonkphotog on October 11, 2007 at 8:07 PM

If Al loses will he demand recounts?

Most likely.

Zorro on October 11, 2007 at 8:11 PM

A Noble winning Gore might just feel frisky enough to take on the Hill.

A diaper on his head would be fitting.

petefrt on October 11, 2007 at 9:46 PM

That must be one of those eco-friendly diapers on his head. It would be the correct choice for what is usually spewing forth from that head!

ALERT: The Goracle has won. Just came over the wire. And now we know exactly how worthless that award is.

fusionaddict on October 12, 2007 at 5:06 AM

We knew that when Arafat and Jimmah Carter won…

E L Frederick (Sniper One) on October 12, 2007 at 6:39 AM

The Nobel,,,, just another award given to Marxists liberals by other Marxists liberals.

JellyToast on October 12, 2007 at 7:22 AM

He won a peace prize, too, which is odd – there’s some fluff on the news about how the organisation that co-won the award has done a lot to publicise the environmental aspects of war, but as far as I can see they haven’t actually *done anything*.

Apeking on October 12, 2007 at 7:32 AM

Precisely. I mean, at least Arafat went to meetings and signed some paperwork. Gore, at best, was just being totally cereal.

fusionaddict on October 12, 2007 at 7:46 AM

All this talk of Al Gore and his recognition is most likely causing global warming.

mboprey on October 12, 2007 at 8:17 AM

I don’t get it. He hasn’t killed any Jews like Arafat, he doesn’t appear to hate the Jews like Carter does, he hasn’t even helped the Jews’ enemy get nuclear weapons like El-Baradai. What did he do to the Jews to qualify him for this award?

HerrMorgenholz on October 12, 2007 at 9:02 AM

Gore = right concern wrong conclusion
