What was Drew doing on that dias?
Do I have to banish him?

bbz123 on October 11, 2007 at 11:06 PM

So falling debris CAN’T cause damage to other buildings??

Morons.

Is she supposed to be funny and sexy…Nice try honey, but you’re just another truther zombie.

Neither funny nor sexy nor smart nor any other admirable quality of a woman.

Yeah, but you wouldn’t kick her out of bed, would ya?

lorien1973 on October 11, 2007 at 11:08 PM

Are these assholes playing a national tragedy for laughs?
This makes me absolutely sick.
Even if there was an argument on their side (which there isn’t) setting it up against a comedy backdrop along with laughtrack is SICK!
People died there. Laugh it up losers.

This is like Hamas vs. Fatah. You don’t need to root for anyone, just sit back and savor the fight between your enemies.

Stormy70 on October 11, 2007 at 11:10 PM

Why do you do this to us, AP? I think my favorite part is when they use sarcasm to criticize Bill’s use of sarcasm. Nope, changed my mind, it’s actually the feeling that I’m watching a seventh grade T.V. productions crew put together their end-of-the-year package that I enjoy the most. No, no, its when they appeal for sophisticated arguments while flipping a boney bird. Ah screw it! I loved the whole thing.

Weight of Glory on October 11, 2007 at 11:10 PM

Fire melts steel . . Huh !

Darn 70′s medal ain’t what it used to be.

Texyank on October 11, 2007 at 11:14 PM

Tit for tat. I know who I’m supposed to root for. I know it, but…
It’s hard.

My answer is that they both suck equally. Truthers believe 9/11 was an inside job and “Bushco.” should be impeached at minimum, Maher wishes Dick Cheney were killed in a terrorist attack, for the hell of it I guess since he doesn’t buy that truther BS.

BKennedy on October 11, 2007 at 11:17 PM

Is interesting to see Maher tell the truthers to not get their cooties on him.

I think the dems feel the same way.

William Amos on October 11, 2007 at 11:22 PM

Pass the popcorn. Although I do despise Truther morons (I know that’s redundant, but I feel the need to say it anyway) even more than I do Bill Maher. Now if there were as many Bill Mahers as there are Truther morons (I know, a nightmare scenario), all bets would be off.

lorien1973 on October 11, 2007 at 11:08 PM

Um…yeah. ‘Not a lesbian…and if I were, I’d have much better taste than that. Blech. Liberals are NOT sexy. You find political mental retardation a turn on, do you, lorien? ;)

tickleddragon on October 11, 2007 at 11:25 PM

Boy, they sure proved thier point with all that evidence and stuff. What a bunch of loons. Oh by the way, no she’s not that good looking. I wouldn’t kick her out bed because she would never get that close too it. Who in the world would chance making a baby with that?!

boomer on October 11, 2007 at 11:26 PM

lorien1973 on October 11, 2007 at 11:08 PM

If fire doesnt melt steel what are the chances a truther would even feel anything during sex ?

William Amos on October 11, 2007 at 11:27 PM

What struck me about this video were the military people that were listed as being truthers. I simply cannot believe that there are that many ex-military people who are truthers. If they are though than they have lost all respect earned for their service. Truthers are scum and should be confronted (not ignored) whenever they are encountered.

Uh…who were those nitwits? What was I watching? The chick was not good looking, and why was she bent over — cramps? The guy looked like an even stupider model of Donnie Douche.

Explain.

The profoundly dumb, yet hot, women in organizations like the Truthers, Dem party, et al, are exactly why men join in the first place!

stonemeister on October 11, 2007 at 11:36 PM

I’m with you, dorian. I’ll tip her a couple bucks for making the bed nicely, and ask her to put up the Do Not Disturb sign, and kindly leave my room. Skank.

Again, this must be part of the Maher show or something? I don’t watch that junk. And you people that were waxing poetic about what a great comedian Bill Maher is, even though “sometimes he makes me mad” need to have your heads examined. He’s a barking moonbat, and picked this low hanging fruit for his basket of “See, I play it straight for both sides!”

No, Bill. You’re a lefty twit.

Jaibones on October 11, 2007 at 11:38 PM

My rule #1: No matter how hot a Lib babe looks, she will be annoying even if you don’t have to listen to her talk. To be avoided at all costs. Republicans are risk takers , they are way more fun.

AP,

But Maher is an atheists, you should like him. No?

terryannonline on October 11, 2007 at 11:48 PM

Coming from the other side…as a woman, the idea of dating a liberal makes me want to cringe. I have FORETHOUGHT. I know that if I date a lib, at a point somewhere in the near future, when he opens his mouth to tell me what a great prez BJC was, I’m going to want to pound him…and not in a good way.

What? Can you blame me?

tickleddragon on October 11, 2007 at 11:48 PM

tickleddragon, that is why I get that question out of the way on the first date, if not before. Any praise of Billy or the Beast and I am out. I’m just being polite, actually, because those people just give me gas.

Stupid is not sexy and never will be. The liberal women don’t understand that.

deepdiver on October 12, 2007 at 12:12 AM

Were those two on his show acting as troofers, or were those actually troofers? It looked to me like they were all on the same set and the two troofers were actors making fun of the real deal troofers.

Oh, Heck, bbz123, I don’t even ask. I’ve got a natural ability to get info out of people without then realizing it. Listen for those key words and politely bow out once I’ve heard them. I can think of at least one nice-looking guy friend I have that would be wonderful to date, were he not a raving liberal nutjob.

But I’ve got another nice-looking friend that gives me chills when he talks conservative politics. mmmm…sexy.

I want to give Maher a little credit for not buying into the truther insanity but I got to thinking about it. How much courage does it take to attack the minority of Americans who believe this crap? In his world it probably does. So let’s give him his due.

georgej on October 12, 2007 at 4:27 AM

Maher’s a first class douchebag, but I’ve got to give him credit for what he said.

Sean M. on October 12, 2007 at 5:46 AM

She’s right, you know… if the building really fell because of the plane/fire, the top of the building would have made a running leap to the side–away from the “path of most resistance”.

(As an aside, isn’t straight down still the “path of most resistance”, by her definition, even in a controlled demolition? Could it be that when defining the “path of most resistance” she is conveniently neglecting Newton’s laws of motion, which dictate that down is the path of “least resistance” due to the force of gravity and which forbid the building from spontaneously falling sideways?)

And by that I mean pathetic.

SouthernDem on October 12, 2007 at 8:46 AM

Wow, so 2 planes and hit 2 buildings and caused 3 buildings to collapse?

Little do they know that 5 buildings collapsed on 9/11. Some research.

Another great little feature is the laughing sound track while we see thousands of people die in the towers.

MarkyX on October 12, 2007 at 8:51 AM

The profoundly dumb, yet hot, women in organizations like the Truthers, Dem party, et al, are exactly why men join in the first place!

Actually it’s because these kinds of men can be leaders of women, and leaders on soft issues. These men aren’t included in more manly pursuits.

JiangxiDad on October 12, 2007 at 8:58 AM

Finally something for which you don’t need to hate Maher.

I love it when these troofer idiots latch onto a falsehood (free fall speed) and drench their lives with it.

As for the others, GIGO (garbage in, garbage out). And they’ve been fed garbage.

drjohn on October 12, 2007 at 8:59 AM

I know I’m not as sophisticated as a Troofer, but, um, didn’t the speed of all the controlled demolitions seem about as fast as the collapse of the WTC?

I must be missing that point of their argument. Well, that, and I was of the opinion that the law of gravity doesn’t change regardless of how tall a building is, and that all objects fall at equal rates of speed.

Those two appear to be on Maher’s show reading e-mails.

Watching the link (Tit for Tat), I think Maher has some conservatives writing his jokes but he is too dumb to get it. The last part of the monologue is obviously his and has a totally different attitude to it.

Meryl Yourish on October 12, 2007 at 9:11 AM

Yeah, Meryl, I was under that impression too. That and the law of inertia. The likelihood of the fall changing trajectory mid drop is as ridiculous as anything else they claim.

tickleddragon on October 12, 2007 at 9:43 AM

eeyore on October 12, 2007 at 10:29 AM

I love those truther “fire can’t melt steel” arguements. Don’t tell that to those who make a kliving as welders I guess. As for the truther arguement regarding melted steel on 9/11, the fire didn’t “melt” the steel but it did WEAKEN the steel. Add to that the massive structural damage caused by the impact of the planes then you have a cause for a collapse. If anything, it’s a miracle that those buildings stood for as long as they did. Tragically those at the point of impact and above were doomed but at least many if not post of those below had a fighting chance.

Yakko77 on October 12, 2007 at 10:30 AM

I think the drew stuff and the end part was a video edit. I dont think they were really on the show.

lorien1973 on October 11, 2007 at 11:08 PM

Drew and the other four people were on Maher’s show when Maher made that comment. The Truthers just used clips from the show.

It’s hard.

Under other circumstances, maybe it would be, but it’s the Truthers.

On that clip, they show several controlled demolitions and then show the Twin Towers falling. And yet, they can’t tell that the two are completely different???

For one, the controlled demolitions have smoke coming from the bottom of their buildings whereas the Twin Towers were smoking from the top. For another, the Twin Towers were pancaking, whereas the others weren’t falling straight on top of itself and weren’t even calling all together.

Esthier on October 12, 2007 at 10:46 AM

So those were real truthers? I thought that was a Bill Maher parody of truthers. I was pretty confused about what I was watching.

MayBee on October 12, 2007 at 10:55 AM

What is that “path of least resistance” crap? Are they saying the building should have fallen up?

Anyone willing to take whatever-her-name-is out bowling to show her how one ball can knock over 10 pins? Just don’t get confused and use her head for a bowling ball (the light weight will be your clue).

Teddy on October 12, 2007 at 2:44 PM

It’s kinda like watching Hitler and Stalin duking it out or Saddam and the Ayatollah Khomeini. Couldn’t EVERYBODY lose?

If I may point out the obvious, take a look at the video of the towers falling and you will see the debris falling faster than the building is collapsing, refuting the Troofer’s assertion that it was freefalling.

My speculation is that intellectually lazy people become Troofers so the can pose as smart without doing any of the hard work needed to actually BE smart.
