Video: Killbot 2.0!
posted at 2:07 pm on October 9, 2007 by Allahpundit
Version 1.0 rolled into Iraq only two months ago. Now they’ve rebuilt it — better than it was before. Better, stronger, faster.
Well, actually it’s mainly safer. But like I said in the earlier post, the journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.
The footage itself is only a snapshot of the jihadi’s-eye-view. For details on capabilities you’ll have to visit Danger Room. I like the idea of a replaceable arm to drag injured troops from the field, but in that case, whither Snuggles?

Blowback

They need to make a jumbo armored model with quad mounted M2 machine guns, that would kick ass.

Wouldn’t one RPG knock it over and make it kick like a turtle?
laelaps on October 9, 2007 at 2:22 PM
Sure, but its better than that same RPG round hitting a soldier…
And on another noter…
Not the start of the Cylons…
Its the start of Bolos!

My prediction is that after it’s first publicized use in combat, the international war crimes lobby will go nuts with indignation.

Given our guys’ ability to send the enemy’s guided missiles back where they came from, I’d like to see what happens with the Jihadi version of this.

Probably, but hitting a killbot wouldn’t exactly earn a jihadi a lot of street cred, now would it?
“Hey, Ackmed! I scored a fatal blow against the infidels!”
“Excellent, Mohammed. What did you destroy? A Humvee? A Stryker? Troops?”
“No, Ackmed- I destroyed the infidel’s remote controlled vehicle. It’s like a toy with a gun on it”
“…umm…”
“No, seriously- look; there’s another one outside our door now! Watch this!”
“DON’T OPEN THE DOOR Mohammed! Noooooo!”

Deploy an army of them on the US-Mexico border to create that “virtual fence”.

Then you’ll love this! And, in true American fashion, the puppy’s fine!

Can it keep a lock on a moving target while moving in a different direction? That’s the question.

How long before Murtha declares that it “killed jihadis in cold blood”?…………Not long I hope!
Or Kerry, “robots sweeping through the streets of Bagdad reminiscent of Jenjas Khan!”

They should have a Thunderdomic competition for that particular job.
Two bots enter…one bot leaves!
