Hillary’s grand giveaway continues

Why do I think of Oprah Winfrey (Everybody gets a car! Everybody gets a car!) whenever I read the latest Hillarycare scheme? Universal health care. Universal baby cash. Now, universal 401K plans!

Every citizen could get a 401(k) retirement account and up to $1,000 in annual matching funds from the government under a plan offered Tuesday by Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton.

At a cost of $20 billion-$25 billion a year, the plan is Clinton’s largest domestic proposal other than her plan for universal health insurance. The New York senator said it would be paid for by taxing estates worth more than $7 million per couple and would help narrow the gap between the rich and those who don’t have enough savings for retirement…

… Clinton said less than half the families in the United States have retirement savings accounts and those who have them aren’t saving enough. She said she often meets people working even into their early 80s because they don’t have enough savings.

“We don’t have much of a nest egg to fall back on,” she said.

“We?”

Next up: Hillary’s universal iphone plan.

I’ve got a few friends I’d like to sign up for that.

Ooooh…I think approx 500 rounds of .45 ACP should do the trick ;-)

Yeah, I almost went back and corrected myself on that one. I should have said, “You can’t EVER undo them without a revolution.”

Two words… Commuter Tax.

He was taxing people in the city who then did not get representation… because they did not live in NYC, and therefore did not vote there.

Rudi sued Pataki to keep this tax on when Pataki tried to get rid of it…

add in this….

The city commuter tax was last set at 0.45 percent of wages and 0.65 percent of self-employment income. Unlike the regular income tax (with its graduated rate schedule for different income brackets), the commuter tax was a flat rate applied to a worker’s entire city income. This meant it could raise commuters’ New York income tax bill by 10 percent or more, depending on their level of income. (In fact, given the graduated rate structure of the regular income tax code, the commuter tax represented a proportionately bigger add-on for lower-income workers than for high-income workers.)

And you begin to see the problem. Rudi is NOT a fiscal conservative, or anti tax, or anti big government… he is NOT a Conservative.

Play the class warfare card much, Hillary?

So, based on Anne Rand and the Scotsman quted up above, the US is doomed to fall into chaos then dictator ship. So what is our answer? Even if their were an armed revolution which put the people and constitution back into power how long would that last? If the Amercan people have lost sight of what America means, then these issues will always surface.
Then again maybe we will get lucky and a nuclear war will erupt. then the cock roaches can sit around watching Brittny on their big creen tv.

He was taxing people in the city who then did not get representation… because they did not live in NYC, and therefore did not vote there.

Actually, “he” was not taxing people at all. The commuter tax was instituted in 1966. I’m pretty sure he wasn’t mayor then.

Also, Giuliani’s arguments were not based in his desire to tax, but in the belief that a city should be free to make its own decisions. From the NYT, May 14, 1999:

The Mayor argued that under state law, the state cannot repeal the commuter tax without the city’s permission. State law provides that before the state passes a law directly affecting a local government, it usually needs a request from that government — a so-called ”home rule message” — to make the change.

You’re right. It amounts to her forcing us to make campaign contributions against our will. She’s using our future earnings, that she intends to use government force to take from us, to buy the votes of the unwitting masses who are always eager for handouts. There’s gotta be something unconstitutional about this whole thing. Can conservatives bring some kind of class-action lawsuit against her? That would be a super-cool thing to see go before the Supreme Court, eh? ;-)

True. Heck, campaign contributions? She’s doing it by redirecting our tax dollars and by wanting to raise taxes, then redistributing those tax dollars as handouts, oops — I meant entitlements.

That’s the real vote buying…

Why does each new plan Hillary unveils bring to mind Hugo Chavez?????????
Is she trying to buy the “poor” vote on the Socialist ticket or is it just my imagination???

Bingo. My lib friends think that this garbage is so enlightened and kind. When you ask them where the $ is coming from, the typical response is “the governement.” When you ask (typically in a slow, sing-song 1st-grade-teacher voice), “And where does the governement get its money?” — all you get are blank stares. Is it a requirement to have a frontal lobotomy to be a lib? Drives me nuts…

Oh… I see… he only sued to keep a tax in place which taxed people who did not live in New York City, and some of whom didn’t even live in the STATE of New York… above and beyond the State Income Tax… and sales tax… and property tax…

Spin it all ya want… he was more interested in the Coffers of New York City, than in somthing our forefathers fought the Revolutionary War over… you know… the whole No taxation without Representation thing?

Its like the line item veto thing… he sued because Clinton used it to veto somthing HE wanted… more taxes for New York… and then tried to explain it away as standing up for Constitutional Principals…

Spin em all ya want… but the end result is its all about the Tax dollar… and now you think he’ll DECREASE your taxes?

I look at actions, not rhetoric.

abinitioadinfinitum on October 9, 2007 at 3:55 PM

I would hope that our fellow ‘Americans’ would be too smart to fall for give away crap like this. Then I see the amount of infomercials on TV and all the get skinny plans and workout machines that obviously sell to gullible people just looking to fall for a scheme. Then to top it all off, I saw Jay Leno with his man on the street and the ignorance of the common person is just baffling.

abinitioadinfinitum on October 9, 2007 at 3:58 PM

Hey Hillary,

Every citizen deserves a house and a car, too. Don’t forget those. They are even more important than retirement. After all, shelter is a basic need and transportation to and from work is necessary also. Especially if there is no public transportation available, like in many rural areas.

I remember in 5th grade (some 40 years ago), during the school elections, one girl (who won) promised every drinking fountain would have chocolate milk, every day we would have ice cream for lunch, and the teachers would have to pass out candy in all of the classes every hour. We went wild…I wonder if that was Hillary?

right2bright on October 9, 2007 at 4:17 PM

I love the part where it says everyone gets free money FROM THE GOVERNMENT, not by stealing it from successful people. What people don’t seem to see is that the government has no money of its own that doesn’t come from us. It’s like Alexis de Tocqueville said, the fatal flaw of democracies is that voters can elect to loot the country.

Hillary’s scheme to steal from the rich to buy votes for herself reminds me of Jesse Jackson’s presidential scheme to confiscate everyone’s 401(k) plan to fund development in the inner city and other white whale social projects. What would happen should Hillary ever get elected and enact this scheme is that it would wreck the economy, just like that brilliant idea to tax the hell out of yachts a few years back killed the boat-building industry. People will move their money out of the country if they know Hillary is going to steal it. And then where will the capital come from to start up new businesses and run existing ones?

Tantor on October 9, 2007 at 4:31 PM

I think this is a great idea because rich people already have more money than they need and there are a lot of people who need money. And medical care can get really expensive and no one should have to worry about paying for medical care. It’s not fair that some people should have so much money when others don’t have enough. Someone should do something about that.

P.S. I like turtles.

The sad reality is that all you have to do is provide a REAL incentive to save: abolish taxing interest, dividends and capital gains on savings and brokerage accounts.

(That way I need only one brokerage account instead of NINE SEPARATE rollovers, contributory IRAs, 401ks, after-tax brokerage account, etc., etc., etc.)

She’s a veritable Robin Hood

No, she is not a Robin Hood. Robin Hood took back from the government what it was stealing from the people and gave it back to the people, She is stealing from the people and throwing back free bread and circuses to “the masses” to get votes! Why not just go all the way and promise free beer and pizza,, and flat screen TVs for all Americans! What a joke! Promise all professional wrestling events will now be free and open to all of the public! Why not just shake down Nike as well and promise free sneakers to the kiddies!! Free bottles for all the babies!! Free mini vans for all the poor moms!! This is so hilarious!

JellyToast on October 9, 2007 at 8:52 PM

I think this is a great idea because rich people already have more money than they need

yeah,, the problem here is that,, it just never ever occurs to those nutcases out there that love to “put it to the rich” ,,,with all the global minded libs out there,, and then throw in the North American Union,, well, the average poor American suddenly looks pretty rich himself! Yep,, compared to Jose down there in the middle of Mexico living in his little hut with 26 kids earning $5. a week,, that so called poor American earning $24,000 per year driving two cars watching Dish Network on his big screen TV in his double wide has more than a little money and more than a few things that could be “taken from him to help the global common good.”

Saint Kansas
OW, you broke my sarcasm detector!
All I keep seeing is the floor of the roman senate. They are discussing how to keepp the people in bread and circuses so that they can continue to stay in power, all the wile ignoring how the internal corruption and external forces are building up to destroy them.
Conservatives look at a person and say
” That person over their, he/she has the power to shape their own destiny. Through hardwork and personal responsibility they can become wealthy and powerfull. They are responsible for their own action, and will be reqarded justly for what they choose.”

Liberals look at a person and see
“Look their is a (fill in race and sex) That poor person is incapable of doing anything without out help and guidance. We shall give that person what we think they need, we will nurture and support that person so that they may grow to look up and deify me and my works! This poor person will nevr have to do anything they do not want to, for I shall provide from the coffers of the wealthy.”

And this is what it boils down to. How many people are willing to take responsibility for their life, and how many people are too lazy and want momma gov’ment to take care of them.

Anyone else remember how hard they & other Dems fought over reforming SS 10 years ago? 401ks would’ve been in our pockets already…and we’d be 10 years ahead financially.

And before I get any flak, the stock market has never dropped more than 20% in its history AND 401ks prohibit anyone from investing all their money in a single company (which is how people usually lose their shirts). Oh yeah, and you’d never be all 401k anyway…no reform bill ever had more than 50% to 401k.

Dear Hillary,

Since you’ve decided to turn the Federal Government into Santa Claus…here’s my Christmas list…

I really really really need the new 24K Gold Plated IPhone so I can distinguish myself from the rest of the rubes in America…hey isn’t that called ambition or something…anyway, can you please have one delivered ASAP?

Mercedes or BMW?? I can’t decide so surprise me!

Clothing allowance! I can’t walk around looking like a dork! I need the government to step-in because…well..I just don’t feel good about myself!!!

Hookers…I promise to practice safe sex and hey, they are professionals!

I need a job that pays gobs of loot where I can show up late and leave early. I know…you want me to think about a government job…puleeze…look at the pay…LMAO!!!

Internet…The government should not only buy my internet connection but I believe PC’s and MAC’s should be free, free, free for the “people”….

Thanks, Santa…errr I mean (wink wink) Hillary!!! LOL!!!

sabbott on October 10, 2007 at 3:43 PM

Hi Santa…

I forgot that I have a problem…

I have a neighbor and a couple of co-workers that are causing me a problem. I’d very much like it if you could make my problem go away. Thanks!

How dumb does she think we are…

If she was really that interested in giving money back to the people, she would leave the Bush Tax Cuts alone. After all, why take YOUR money in the first place if she’s only to give it back.

E L Frederick (Sniper One) on October 11, 2007 at 10:54 AM

The problem is that Hillary and her fellow socialists know exactly how dumb the average American is. I promise you they’re eating up this crap hook, line, and sinker with big grins on their faces while they remember just how wonderful it was back in the day that Bubba Clinton was getting BJs from young White House interns and terrorist attacks were answered by launching a few Cruise missiles at foreign aspirin factories.
