My current take is that about the best that will come out of it is that some of the Social Cons who were thinking of sitting this one out might change their minds because of this issue.

What they aren’t counting on is a Black vote backlash.

Have been thinking the same thing. Black evangelicals and Black’s opposed to illegal immigration may deliver the Dem’s a surprise. Are the Dem’s dumping the blacks overboard in favor of the Hispanics?

The idea is that you target message select groups to get them to vote the way you want to. Well and good except it assues that you can create and identify all groups out there.

Its the typical lazy beltway thinking that you can sit in washington and fire emails and create groups that only exist on your paperwork.

They dems won in 2006 based on several factors. Republicans gave them impression that they had abandoned their core values of law and order and being pro family and fiscally conservative. That and they seems incompetant after Katrina

Dems have relearned the old school of politics to a degree. The old machine politics of the 19th and early 20th century. You create groups and fund them and turn them out for elections. Republicans still think all you need to do for elections is raise money and put up TV ads.

The republican party will start doing better the day they give up the dinosaur politics they are pursing with massive emails and phone banks.

Democrats treat politics like a business. Republicans treat it like its a high school play

Seriously though, this is the pattern. They succeeded in doing it with the Black vote in the 60’s why not do it again?

The Black/brown coalition is a Tavis Smiley/Al sharpton pipe dream. Republicans need to seize the oppotunity. Let it blow up in Hillary and the Democrats face. If Republicans could draw 20 more percent of the Black vote swing states would be completely redefined. Florida, Iowa, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin nice and red, and California is back in play.

Immigration enforcement polls well enough that the two recent attempts at passing sweeping amnesty, attempts which had heavy White House support as well as the backing of big guns in both parties, failed spectacularly.
