Audio: Hillary accuses questioner of being a plant

I’ve been wondering when this was going to turn up. Here, at last, for your enjoyment is the much-touted confrontation from this weekend. As usual, it’s less exciting than it was cracked up to be.

The nutroots has convinced itself that any measure of opposition to Iran, no matter how cursory, amounts to complicity in Dick Cheney’s alleged Strangelovean plan to nuke the country thrice over and bring about the biblical armageddon. Hence all the hand-wringing two weeks ago over the appalling “demonization” of poor Holocaust-denying, terror-supporting Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The questioner here is of the same mind, wondering why she would ever put her name to a senate resolution calling on Bush to designate the Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organization. Doesn’t she know she’s playing right into the Chimperor’s hands? She tries to explain that she’s also co-sponsoring Jim Webb’s amendment that would deny funds for military operations against Iran without prior congressional authorization, but the questioner’s done his Chomskyan “research” and isn’t having any of it.
