The best thing you’ll see all day. The top clip is from before the race, the bottom clip is after. Maj. David Rozelle, head of the Missing (Parts) In Action team, figures prominently in both. I was intrigued by the story of Lt. Ivan Castro in the first clip and checked Google News to see if there was any more information on him. Stars & Stripes is all over it.

Griff Jenkins, the Fox News reporter in the second clip, has more details on the race on his blog. Click the images to watch.

Next time you think you’re a man because you drank a six pack and crushed a can on your forehead, stop and think about these guys. THESE are REAL men.

The best of the best of this country

Going back to combat, too. Wow. Great post AP.

I have a few Army Ten-Miler t-shirts in my closet, and I used to be proud of them for what they showed I could do. Now I’m just proud to be remotely associated with real heroes.

Walking away with my tail between my legs.

I love the major’s psyop theory. The enemy seeing him back in action with an artificial limb, able to outrun a lot of people with all their natural parts, has to evoke the Terminator.

And on the opposite side of the spectrum of humanity you have the Democrats, who are committed to surrendering and losing at all costs in order to “protect” our troops. The best of us vs. the worst of us.

ReubenJCogburn on October 7, 2007 at 9:42 PM

What an amazing bunch of guys.

Was wounded in Nam…. I have both legs…. I’m ashamed when I complain of pain…. These guys are the men Democrats and Rinos, Hell I, could never be.

The Soldiers, past and present, are our betters. No idea where they find such strength and valor. Such class.

Entelechy on October 8, 2007 at 12:09 AM

Tough doesn’t even begin to describe these troops.

oakpack on October 8, 2007 at 6:34 AM

The spirit of the American Soldier will never cease to amaze me. No matter what they have been through, these guys look at it as just another hurdle in life. They are what we should all aspire to be.

God Bless them all!

I salute everyone of you.

Watching and listening to the participants brought back the inspiration and emotions of “Brian’s Song”

MSGTAS on October 8, 2007 at 10:25 AM

Was Harry reid at the finish line trying to trip them?

Kudos to all.

Courage is in the heart, not the limbs.
