Photos: Folsom Street Fair celebrates empowerment and erections, but mostly erections

High culture in progressivism’s capital city, captured for posterity in Zombie’s latest anthropology experiment. Hey, remember that old Onion article about gay-pride parades setting gay rights back by 50 years? This one should be worth about 100. No kids around this time, though, thankfully.

Kindly observe this, your strong content warning, and click the image to proceed.

omg….

3 “gay-themed” posts in one day?

*brews another pot of coffee*

and…

*gets no work done today*

JetBoy on October 4, 2007 at 4:49 PM

Yeah, so disgusting beyond belief. So glad I live 20 miles away from these freaks.

bbz123 on October 4, 2007 at 4:52 PM

Just what I want to be when I grow up.

The only “Leatherman Tool” you’ll see on me is right where it should be….left hip.

How can anyone really respond to this story in a serious vein anyway?

Miller Brewing is taking some heat and rightfully so!

lib_not on October 4, 2007 at 4:55 PM

Why do I laugh at these people?

Ochlan on October 4, 2007 at 4:57 PM

Am I a homophobe? Nah,who can be afraid of such “weak kneed” disgusting excuses for humanity. Will I fight to make sure they don’t rule law and my country? You betcha!

MNDavenotPC on October 4, 2007 at 4:58 PM

For cripes sake….

Discaimer necessary!….This is NOT representational of gay men. This is a “fetish” fair…leather dudes acting like total morons.

Is this Folsom post really necessary?

JetBoy on October 4, 2007 at 5:02 PM

Absolute Moral Authority.

San Fransicko truly has become the reincarnation of Sodom and Gomorrah……And I live in California, oh he11 the ground is sooooo going to fall out from under us……Hopefully San Fransicko is far enough away (from San Diego) we wont be devastated when it happens.

There’s not enough eye-wash in the world to make me click on that link. Content warning appreciated.

Is this Folsom post really necessary?

Given the controversy over the Miller poster? Yeah, it’s topical. Here’s what Miller’s sponsoring.

I didn’t say it was representative of gay men; in fact, the Onion link suggests the contrary.

I think most of us understand that. It is however, representative of depravity. From the few pictures I’ve seen so far, it’s almost unimaginable.

I am tending toward to agree here. I mean, we know the the crazies do I suppose. Do we need to see it? I think not. We know Miller sucks and all that… I didn’t need photographic evidence.

*shudders*

Now only if I hadn’t clicked……

dc84123 on October 4, 2007 at 5:09 PM

For those of us who are acolytes of both HA and LGF, i strongly advise that you do NOT go Charles’ site and see what his staff documenter-of-all-freaky-things-San Fran Zombie has documented.

As a fan of Zombie’s work i decided to check it out, got exactly one picture into his essay and yakked on my keyboard. sick stuff, folks. beyond the pale.

this is not a reverse-psychology way of getting yall to check it out. it is a warning, and i quote Ace Ventura: Do NOT go in there!!!

Mike D. on October 4, 2007 at 5:11 PM

Looks a lot like Southern Decadence – I went one year to do the same thing Zombie did. Public nudity, masturbation, a street bj contest had men lined up, ready to be serviced.

Laura on October 4, 2007 at 5:12 PM

gagging in evidence class is not a good thing

I should have listened to the warnings

Defector01 on October 4, 2007 at 5:13 PM

And I know this is not a representation of gays in entirety BUT these are the people mostly out in public eye who claim to speak for the community much the same way the oversexed ******s who almost always make the majority of the gay pride parades are. You don’t like it, fight to reclaim your community.

Defector01 on October 4, 2007 at 5:15 PM

OK, the next time someone complains about the military in SanFran I’m gonna laugh.

I feel sorry for them.

and I will never buy a Miller product – evah!

Tru2my2 on October 4, 2007 at 5:17 PM

The advertisement poster for this fair featured a sadomasochist parody of Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” with food on the table replaced by sex toys.

Grandmama San Fran Nan Pelosi defended the poster, said that it did not “harm” Christianity.

http://www.ktvu.com/news/14227320/detail.html

Brat on October 4, 2007 at 5:18 PM

Well, I highly doubt Miller knowingly sponsored any of that stuff. I actually defended the poster, with the claim that it did not poke fun at Christianity, but was merely a parody of what has become a recognizeable pop-icon…

Perhaps with this junk going on, The “big money” sponsors will pull out next time. And yeah, the Onion is right, there. This kinda stuff puts gay acceptance back years.

JetBoy on October 4, 2007 at 5:19 PM

How very mainstream of them!

p0s3r on October 4, 2007 at 5:19 PM

Oh my!

‘Strong Content Warning’ isn’t enough.

Got to dip the ol’PC in bleach now.

How the HELL can this be legal out in the open street?

Palomino!

I guess they don’t have public decency laws in SF, huh? What a disgusting place.

Grandmama San Fran Nan Pelosi defended the poster, said that it did not “harm” Christianity.

Brat on October 4, 2007 at 5:18 PM

In a way, I agree with that statement. It doesn’t harm Christianity because Christianity isn’t fragile enough to be harmed by anyone or anything.

That doesn’t mean it was an appropriate poster.

Andy in Agoura Hills on October 4, 2007 at 5:24 PM

How the HELL can this be legal out in the open street?

Limerick on October 4, 2007 at 5:20 PM

I don’t know what the laws are in San Fran, but around here, the same cops who arrest drunk college girls for flashing their boobs to get long beads at Mardi Gras, walked right past sex acts being conducted on a public street during Decadence.

It’s illegal the same way illegal immigration is illegal.

Laura on October 4, 2007 at 5:25 PM

That doesn’t mean it was an appropriate poster.

She had a chance to voice that it was inappropriate. I didn’t hear her say it.

And you know what, I’m not even going to pose the argument “well if it depicted Mohammad she would have…” because that point is obvious.

Brat on October 4, 2007 at 5:27 PM

The homo agenda has got to be defeated.

You can thank your friends on the more deviant side of your sexuality for that response. As we came to agree in the other thread, it isn’t right, but it is a sad reality. BTW were this a heterosexual display of equal magnitude I would be equally appalled.

I have slowly become tolerant of what people do in the privacy of their own bedrooms, when it spills out onto public streets my tolerance disappears. These animals should have been arrested for lewd acts in public and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Sadly it doesn’t look as if San Fransicko has any morals ethics or lewd or indecent statutes on their books.

Brat on October 4, 2007 at 5:18 PM

My favorite part about GranNan’s speech was “It’s a 1st Amendment right.” Cool, GranNan, cool. Questions…

1) How can she know if this poster “harmed” Christianity?
2) Did she attend Folsom Street Fair with her grandchildren? Would it be okay with her if they went?
3) Is this the same Speaker of the House who wants Rush off the air? 1st amendment, ANYone?

If gay/freaky people want me and the government to stay out of their bedrooms, why is it okay to for them to bring their bedroom to the street? Makes me want to dig a hole, toss em in and throw rocks at them til they bleed… (peace be upon them)

How on Earth is this ‘festival’ permitted to go on in the public square? You can be arrested for drawing and publishing cartoons of Mo-Ham-Head but it is perfectly legal to sit on the street and display your wares?

Is this Slaughterhouse 5? Bizarro World? That city needs to be bulldozed.

see-dub…doesn’t NBC always take down their copywrited stuff? They’re usually on the ball (again, no pun intended) with their stuff on YouTube.

RightOFLeft on October 4, 2007 at 6:31 PM

It is a shame to know what they do in private. Dear Lord they are taking it to the streets. Is it any wonder they put up the last supper photo? Not to me but then again I just might be a conservative, non tolerating, hate-monger. After all I might judge somebody and be completely wrong about their true behavior. God help me not to think wrongly about these type of people. Forget giving a**holes like this the time of day and then accepting them into our schools as an alternative lifestyle that is just natural. BS this is not natural this is SICK!!

mjkazee on October 4, 2007 at 6:33 PM

No kids around this time, though, thankfully.

Actually ALLAHP, if you read the comments on this topic at LGF, Zombie says there were kids there but he just didn’t photo them this time. He said there were kids there dressed in Fetish Clothes as well as “Twinks” working the crowds of gray haired old fairys. He just didn’t photo them because he got a lot of heat the last time he did. Apparently, someone notable person even refered to his prior photos as “pedophilia”, and he took great exception to that, so no photos of the kids in the crowd this time.

…but they were there

SilverStar830 on October 4, 2007 at 6:34 PM

I cannot believe that the lewd and sexual behaviour was allowed to take place in public. If they wanted to prance around their festival in fetish gear that covered their naughty bits (yes, it exists), that’s one thing. Exposing and utilizing genitalia, whole other story.

What I or anybody else does in the privacy of one’s home/legally-operated fetish club should not be up for public review; however, these people disgrace the rest of us by being crude, lewd, and rude (not to mention law breakers) in the public eye.

I’m not much for telling others how to live their lives, but next time, rent out a convention center or something. Gah!
