Yes, I missed the “humping” part. It’s not as clear on the clip, and I didn’t see it broadcast.

As to which approach takes longer to think about, it depends on who you are. But I don’t question Bonaduce’s right to defend himself. He has always struck me as a kind of angry guy, though, and doing the most damage would be his first option.

Much of Bonaduce’s defense appears to be on the basis that this attack was of a sexual nature. I looked at the clip twice, and I didn’t see that. Then again, I don’t always read something sexual in as many things as most people. (No, wrapping your legs around a guy doesn’t always mean that, only to those who watch too much internet porn.)

Er, did you miss the whole humping part? It WAS sexual in nature, that’s what people like this do to screw with other people’s heads. They prey on sexual insecurity to get a cheap laugh.

Secondly, yeah, sure, you could come up with a great plan to get Fairplay off without hurting him… after having plenty of time to think about it. Bonaduce didn’t have the advantage of 20/20 hindsight, however. It seems to me he had no idea what this guy was trying to do and was concerned, in those few split-seconds, with protecting himself and not his assailant. That is, of course, the right way to approach such a situation.

To hell with that. I am sick and tired of leaving in a PC culture that encourages honest people to be victims. That’s not an endorsement of vigilantism, but rather the right of self-defense, which this was.

This guy already did. I saw his arms. He wasn’t completely pinned or he wouldn’t have been able to grab anything, including Douchebag’s ass. I’ll say this for Bonaduche, though. He’s the real deal. He doesn’t just talk the talk.

Which is easier in a place like this.

Jonny Douchebag had Danny’s arms pinned to his sides. Danny’s only defensive move was to life his arms directly over his head, which is exactly what he did. He did grab Jonny, he simple lifted his arms up. Jonny Douchebag went bye-bye…

This assault wasn’t a serious fight, so the other nasty things one can do in close fighting would be inappropriate, and likely to get a blackbelt, or professional fighter prosecuted. There is always the question of excessive force and problems with the law to consider.

In fairness to Danny, I don’t think he intended to knock the moron’s teeth out when he threw him off. But,….enjoy your soup.

He had three choices:

a) Fall forward, in effect body slamming the fool.
b) Standing there on stage and letting the guy finish his assault.
c) Lifting him up and tossing him off.

d) Instead of grabbing his attacker’s ass, dropping his arms and pushing the attacker’s legs away, causing him to loose his grip there, then upon the attacker’s feet hitting the floor off balance while still in contact, whipping his arms around the attacker’s to loosen them, then in the same motion, pushing him away very abruptly at the chest near the armpits. It would be over just as quickly, no one would be hurt, the Deucemeister would still walk away, and Fairplay would still look like a douche bag.

Right. God forbid the guy attacking us gets hurt when we stop him. Listen up, ladies! There are many ways to stop the guy who assaults you in the park. Don’t hurt them, now!

[Bottom line, it’s hard to say who behaved more badly.]

It really isn’t. I think it’s crystal clear.

Well, okay, maybe it’s not so hard to say. A few of you can be very persuasive. But most of you? “Ladies???” Oooh, been a long time since I’ve been called that. And there’s a reason.

Look, I’ve been in my share of confrontations in bars. My first tactic is always to talk them out of it. Usually it works, sometimes it doesn’t. When it doesn’t, you get it over with. Most guys in bars who start fights are just punks anyway.

That, and I’m glad I don’t watch as much television as I used to. This is why.

Bonnaduce did the right thing. His only worry is if he has a black belt. To his credit, he just tossed the guy after being sexually assaulted by him, no punches, kicks, or nasty joint locks. I don’t recall “tossing humping monkey” as a martial arts technique. That bozo did a face plant is hillarious. Bonnaduce is damned lucky the little sh*t didn’t break his neck or he would be in hot water. Case dismissed.

From a legal standpoint I dont think it would have mattered in the slightest if douche bag Jonny had broken his neck, death by misadventure……

I watched the video but I’ll have to watch it again to see Bonaduce’s arms.

If Bonaduce was repulsed by Fairplay’s disgusting actions (as I’m sure he was), wouldn’t it have been a more natural response to push him away or let him drop rather than hoist him up and over his head?

No. The guy(?) had his legs and arms wrapped around Bonaduce’s chest and Bonaduce’s arms were pinned under the guy’s legs. He had three choices:

a) Fall forward, in effect body slamming the fool.
b) Standing there on stage and letting the guy finish his assault.
c) Lifting him up and tossing him off.

He chose exactly what he should have chosen. If he had chosen the body slam, then this might be a different argument.

This reminds me of the time those wrestlers knocked Richard Belzer unconscious and caused him to hit his head on the hard stage floor. Apparently, they thought Belzer had it coming for being a smart aleck. Belzer sued and won.

Totally different situation. Belzer did not sexually attack and molest the wrestlers and they were not defending themselves.

I think the creepy Fairplay was taking a mighty big risk and I also think Bonaduce is lucky he didn’t break Fairplay’s neck.

Watch the video, Danny’s arms are pinned to his sides, there is no law anywhere in the United states that required anyone to allow themselves to be assaulted.

Danny used the absolute minimum of force required to extricate himself from a situation he was not required to submit to. No person anywhere in the United States has the right to do to another person what Fairplay did to Danny, Danny was fully within his legal rights in tossing Fairplay off him.

Any physical injury incurred by Fairplay as a result of Danny using the minimum amount of force required to separate himself from Fairplay is entirely Fairplay’s fault.

Sexual assault is a general term used to describe many forms of sexual offenses. Any unwanted sexual contact or sexual attention committed by force, fear, duress, menace, trick or violence is sexual assault.

I think this definition would seal a victory for Bonaduce on charges of sexual assault.

Well, I might be wrong on that in legal terms, based on this:

The legal definition of criminal sexual assault is any genital, oral, or anal penetration by a part of the accused’s body or by an object, using force or without the victim’s consent (7). Criminal sexual assault, or rape, is often further stratified to include acquaintance rape, date rape, statutory rape, child sexual abuse, and incest.

But doesn’t that seem a bit odd. This seems to indicate that a person is not guilty of sexual assault unless there’s penetration. I know of one case in Rocklin, California right now where a dentist has been charged with “sexual assault” for “fondling” a customer’s breasts.

Odd. Either way, I’d take my chances in court.

Sure I can. You can GUARANTEE that if you did that to a woman you would find yourself on the sex offender’s list. There’s absolutely no doubt about it.

Some queer assults me that way and I’m filing charges of sexual assult, and that’s exactly what Bonaduce should be doing.

I agree with your logic but you cannot say that is was “sexual molestation” but I think that any man who jumps into my arms and dry humps me without consent, is going to get body slammed by me….I do thing Fairplay deserved that slam….

I’m glad that according to the poll, 2/3’s think this Jonny guy’s a douche.

I actually think it’s sad that 1/3 of the people voting are that stupid. It’s a very telling indication of why we’re having problems in this country.

Jump on a guy and sexually molest him in public without his consent, the guy throws you off of him in self defense, you happen to land on your face, and 1/3 of Americans will side with the sexual molester.

Sounds about right.

So I wonder what the voting results would be if it had been a woman instead of Bonaduce. Or how about a 14 year old girl being molested by a certain rapper named Akon?

Would the same people be siding with Akon if he had lost a few teeth?

Let’s just see how this plays out in court…then we can have a wonderful round of pointing fingers and ‘told ya so’

It’s not going to play out in court. As a resident of California who has been in more than one physical altercation that has resulted in criminal investigation I can tell you the minute any judge in California sees that video he will throw the case out of court as lacking in any merit.

Furthermore there is a significant possibility that the judge will ask Danny if he would like to press sexual harassment charges against Jonny Fairplay. Yea, California is like that…..
