Sometimes people just have to respect other people’s views, rather than mock them. But she is evidently not mature enough to understand that.

There are two types of vegetarians. The first are ones like a friend of mine who doesn’t eat meat and is content. Then there are the crazed, intolerant vego-fascists (natural allies of the envirodoomongers) who make veryone miserable. So no people don’t have to show respect unless their choice to eat meat is quietly tolerated.

There is nothing to respect in sucking out the brains of an unborn child.

But then, I grew up on a farm. My dad was an accountant and it was not uncommon for him to be paid for his services with half a cow or sheep. And I was present several times when he collected.

I’ve been intimately involved with the process.

My neighbor’s grandfather had hog butchering down to an art.
One or two well placed .22LRs
Scald the hair off.
Gut.
Cut the head off.
Quarter.

I’ve been involved in processing wild game.

Deer, squirrel, rabbit, dove.

I recently saw a three month old kitten kill her first mouse.

Over the years I’ve watched my cats take numerous birds.

And I was almost witness to a bit of avian/feline karmic balancing, as an owl swooped down five feet in front of me and missed one of my cats by mere inches.

Saw one of the family dogs turn a opossum into what can best be described as the rough equivilent of a deflated football.She thought it was a great chew toy.

Essentially, what I’m saying is; some of us live close enough to the food chain to understand its workings.
