Well what’dya expect? They stole (made up) their own damn religion. Mo bought books not chosen or cleared for the bible, found a convenient ‘heir loom family tree’ in Abrahams illegitimate son and then twisted the Tora and the Bible into having a brand new cult. A third ‘religion’ with a flying horse/donkey/crow/ass kinda thing that flew him to the Temple Mount one night ( first LSD trip) and then he made it up as he went….Anyone didn’t like it?.. he killed ‘em. That worked well enough for mo, so he submitted that ‘encouragement’ into his cult, called it allah.
Hence the koran, the recited version of a bad trip. Hell no one even wrote anything down for decades ( probably still a crime to rape 6 year olds back then, no reason to document his entire evilness).

The first Arabic-language medical treatise was written by a Christian priest and translated into Arabic by a Jewish doctor in 683. The first hospital, another source of pride among Muslims and often a prominent feature of Islamic accomplishment lists, was founded in Baghdad during the Abbasid caliphate by a Nestorian Christian. A pioneering medical school was founded at Gundeshapur in Persia — by Assyrian Christians. The world’s first university may not have been the Muslims’ Al-Azhar in Cairo, as is often claimed, but the Assyrian School of Nisibis.

The problem with turning this list of intellectual achievements into a convincing “Islamic” golden age is that whatever flourished, did so not by reason of Islam but in spite of Islam. Moslems overran societies (Persian, Greek, Egyptian, Byzantine, Syrian, Jewish) that possessed intellectual sophistication in their own right and failed to completely destroy their cultures. To give it the credit for what the remnants of these cultures achieved is like crediting the Red Army for the survival of Chopin in Warsaw in 1970! Islam per se never encouraged science, in the sense of disinterested enquiry, because the only knowledge it accepts is religious knowledge.

As Bernard Lewis explains in his book What Went Wrong? the Moslem Empire inherited “the knowledge and skills of the ancient Middle east, of Greece and of Persia, it added to them new and important innovations from outside, such as the manufacture of paper from China and decimal positional numbering from India.” The decimal numbers were thus transmitted to the West, where they are still mistakenly known as “Arabic” numbers, honoring not their inventors but their transmitters.

We in the West do need better understanding of Islamic history and culture. For almost three-quarters of a millennium, from the early 700s until the middle 1400s, the Muslim Middle East excelled Christian Europe in science, technology and culture. Famines and plagues occurred less often in the Middle East than in Europe; and writers and thinkers enjoyed greater liberty.

After the Middle East fell into relative decline, Islam spread through Africa and Asia largely by peaceful conversion, because it offered people a more consoling and convincing belief system than they had known before.

What Frum has to say here has no factual basis whatsoever. It’s merely a fantasy of Islamic studies departments. I suggest reading Robert Spencer’s Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam to get the truth about this era of Islamic history.

(My last tete-a-tete argument over this issue was with a Polish Ph.D. candidate in Islamic studies. He totally embraced every Islamic fundy political line and turned around and denounced the Polish government for being theocratic. Judge him yourself. You don’t even need a high school diploma to consider the logic of his position.)

Tell ya what, “tolerance” is going to get millions of people killed one day and maybe cause the end of the U.S. as we know it.

Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays: Kill Muslims of other tribes/denominations (Sunni, Shiite, Sufi, etc.)

Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays: Cooperate with Muslims of other tribes and denominations in the killing of non-Muslims

Sundays: Go home and butcher own people
