Shocka: Sen. Carl Levin only reads what Media Matters wants him to read

Regarding the Limbaugh brouhaha. CNS News interviewed Levin in the hallways of Congress today, and here’s what the Soros sock puppet senator had to say.
Levin: “I thought it was plural. Was he referring to a single person?”
CNSNews.com: “He went on to talk about this Jesse Macbeth and mentioned other soldiers, other people similarly.”
Levin: “From what I know about it, I don’t have all the exact words, I don’t buy it. I think it was obviously broader than one soldier.”
CNSNews.com: “Have you had a chance to see or read the entire transcript?”
Levin: “I’ve read a part of the transcript.”
CNSNews.com: “Is it the part that Media Matters [for America] has put out, that perhaps Sen. Reid (D-Nev.) has been…”
Levin: “Yes. It looked to me like he was not referring to one specific [soldier].”
Click over to the CNS story to hear audio of the exchange. As for the singularity or plurality of the “phony soldier” line, of course it was plural. There have been more than one phony soldier touted by various elements of the left as authoritative critics of the war. Look it up, Senator.
CNS also interviewed Sens. John Warner (R-VA), Lindsay Graham (R-SC), Ben Nelson (D-NE) and Akaka (D-HI). All four of them evidently read and think outside Media Matters’ talking points. Though Nelson’s “unless it’s about me” is amusing in a Beltway kind of way.

40 minutes to go… bet the Opening Monologue is going to be HOTTTT today!
At least there are few on our side willing to play rough, and call out those for what they are.
JamesLee on October 2, 2007 at 11:23 AM
Gee, I would hate to read the ENTIRE transcript and get an accurate view of the situation. So much easier to listen to wacko Media Matters spin than the truth. Guess you don’t need to be thorough when you are a bought and paid for Soros soldier.
katieanne on October 2, 2007 at 11:23 AM
Wish I could listen to the opening monologue today…and may I add, Levin’s ubiquitous, low-slung glasses have never made him sound or appear very intelligent. Those really bug me for some reason :)
Sir Loin on October 2, 2007 at 11:25 AM

Soros Soldier.
I like that.
Topsecretk9 on October 2, 2007 at 11:26 AM
Ugh. Reminds me of Count Chocula saying that to General Petraeus. All part of the same script from Media Muthers.
Brat on October 2, 2007 at 11:29 AM
I take exception to the above demeaning statement on behalf of sock puppets nationwide. To compare these noble creatures to a man that looks like the evil shoe maker from some fairy tale is as insulting as those GEICO cavemen find ads questioning their intelligence! ;0
Seriously, as a Michigan voter, I’m open to any suggestions how to get rid of Levin.
highhopes on October 2, 2007 at 11:32 AM
Apples to oranges, my friends. Apples to oranges.
The Dumbs are raising a fuss over a non-issue. Even IF Rush did say “soldiers”, there have been quite a few phonies stepping forward with ficticious yarns spun by the left. I’d chalk “soldiers” up to include the lot of them.
madmonkphotog on October 2, 2007 at 11:39 AM
So he is saying that he hasn’t reviewed the evidence but will give an absolute opinion anyway. Hmmm . . . is this how he makes other senatorial decisions?
geckomon on October 2, 2007 at 11:39 AM
I am waiting to hear Rush rip him a new one !
DoctorDentons on October 2, 2007 at 11:40 AM
Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.): (no relation)
I agree with the last part.
bnelson44 on October 2, 2007 at 11:43 AM
Man, I don’t say anything without even some cursory research.
I’m an idiot but this guy is a Senator!
Well, I guess we are both idiots…

geckomon on October 2, 2007 at 11:39 AM
ummm…. isn’t that how they all do it? (Just kidding! I know that you were being sarcastic.)
I wasn’t going to go out at lunch today, but now I am going to at least have to go sit in my car to catch the show opener!

Ian,
Are you yelling? Or just over-bolding?

So now we know Media Matters is required reading for the Democratic leadership (if you can call it leadership)
Kini on October 2, 2007 at 12:00 PM
Is there an anti-Soros group out there? There needs to be.
Asher on October 2, 2007 at 12:01 PM
If we have sock-puppet senators, it’s no wonder that a sock-puppet can write a best selling book and have his stuff read on the Senate floor by Russ Feingold.
GOOD DAY, SIR!
Karl on October 2, 2007 at 12:07 PM
Levin is an example of one of those people.
The very existence of flamethrowers proves that sometime, somewhere, someone said to themselves, “You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I’m just not close enough to get the job done.”
there it is on October 2, 2007 at 12:12 PM
Rush is ripping Harry a new one right now.
bbz123 on October 2, 2007 at 12:18 PM
Wants him to step down — ouch. If only!
lan astaslem on October 2, 2007 at 12:32 PM
Sorosian drone is a better term. They are not soldiers since they refuse to fight…
allie on October 2, 2007 at 12:36 PM
They actually think THIS is the way to “hush Rush”…by repeating a lie? Oh, the democrat party…you can’t make this stuff up any better!
SouthernGent on October 2, 2007 at 12:39 PM
He doesn’t read context. What does he read?
And he’s supposed to be part of making policy and decisions on behalf of the people of the United States of America?
Can he be more stupid or corrupt or any combination of those?
Mommynator on October 2, 2007 at 12:39 PM
This whole thing is such a non-issue. Try “Phony Senators.”
Connie on October 2, 2007 at 12:43 PM
There, fixed it for ya!
Kini on October 2, 2007 at 12:44 PM
As a lifelong Michigan resident I am shocked to learn that Levin can still read a part of any document, although a document from spuds Soros should be big print
These brave Warriors led by Big Chief Reid have fought a greater battle than the war in Iraq, the battle of Petraeus. With word bombs and letter bombs they attempt to stop the great Serpent Petraeus lest he bring honor to the unelected Chief in the White House.
Now evil medicine man LimBuffalo has mocked the Warriors and suggested Reid’s braves lied about walking with Eagles.
The Reid Warriors wish to harpoon the LimBuffalo before he makes more bad medicine for them. They must silence his bellows and stop the tribe from hearing his voice lest their own braves shrivel into mice and scamper back to pick up their paychecks before the the next election
Levin has all the charm and usefulness of an enlarged prostate
entagor on October 2, 2007 at 12:51 PM
Wow, I’m ashamed to be from Michigan.
I have never had a greater desire to become a Rush 24/7 member again.
marc@hubsandspokes on October 2, 2007 at 1:01 PM
“Levin has all the charm and usefulness of an enlarged prostate.”
Great line. I think Limbaugh and the conservative talking heads should use the term “phony senators” as often as possible. You can define them as “elected to serve the people, they serve the Democrat Party generally and George Soros specifically.”
Let’s also refer to “Media Murthas”.
Mustafa Hemmroid on October 2, 2007 at 1:08 PM
Media Matters is grasping. They have on their site a story about how Rush ’selectively’ edited the transcript of his statement when he replayed it the other day. Media Matters then publishes the entire transcript. The edited part was a tangential discussion with the caller about the WMDs in Iraq. The edit had nothing to do with the phony soldiers discussion and was obviously removed for the sake of clarity and brevity. Yet Media Matters is making a big deal about how Rush said he was playing the entire transcript, yet knew it was edited. Horrors!! Can anyone say “strawman.”
Mallard T. Drake on October 2, 2007 at 1:13 PM
Sadly, these Senators are the “real deal.” Everytime idiots like Levin, Reid, Kerry, Kennedy, Biden, Clinton…… appear on television all I can think is “Is this really the best America has for these jobs?”
highhopes on October 2, 2007 at 1:27 PM
This ‘controversy’ is a blessing to Rush.
I repeat, Soros is one of the most dangerous men on Earth.
Entelechy on October 2, 2007 at 1:52 PM
If you want to know why Michigan is in the crapper, look at the senators they elect (over and over again). That bloated Turd Ferguson wouldn’t know reality if it bit him in his gigantic ass.
Dr.Cwac.Cwac on October 2, 2007 at 2:13 PM
I agree. I recognize Soros from an Ayn Rand novel I read in high school. Perhaps Ayn Rand readers couold help me. There was a character who ran a sleazy newpaper that manipulated the news to control the public he despised. Can anyone identify this character?
I recall feeling slimed after reading that book
I have long had a drive to argue for Christ with Soros. That comes with an almost certainty that if I successfully penetrated his armor with doubt that he was right, or a sense God did truly exist, that Soros would deal with me as Salome dealt with John the Baptist.
Soros has a great need to crush dissenters. He can only live peacefully if he silences the voices that scare him. That means the voice of Jesus Christ, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The voice of Moses, giver of the law and saviour of the Jews. The voice of God Almighty.
If Soros was created, and not self created he would find himself more naked than Adam banished from the Garden of Eden. His self created Eden would become dust and the final rage would be unleashed.
IMHO

p.s.
I, mouse for Jesus, weaker than Peter, and less worthy than all sinners, do tremble for having mocked the cheese of Soros.
If I do not survive to taste another cheese, may my Father in Heaven forgive my transgressions. I do mean to be a faithful soldier
Amen

Media Matters, as the creation and instrument of Hillary, tells us as much about her use of power… her abuse of power as we ever need to know. No smear too vile, no trick too dirty for Hillary Bacillary.

This guys have an office full of worker bees and they cannot get someone to read the actual words?

This just in from American Bandstand:
georgej on October 2, 2007 at 5:34 PM
I think that’d be Fountainhead, and the newspaper owner’s name “Gail Wynand.” The villain, though, is “Ellsworth Toohey,” a Socialist looking to take over by smearing the protagonist, Howard Roark.
Great book.
Decent movie true to the book (Rand wrote the screenplay) starring Gary Cooper (Roark), Patricia Neal (Dominique), Raymond Massey (Wynand), and Robert Douglass (Toohey), though some think the acting and dialog were stilted. The movie is available on DVD. My wife found it at Costco, believe it or not.
