Saying the Cowboys would beat the Seahawks because of stats, is like say Hillary will beat whomever because of polls.
Mallard T. Drake on October 1, 2007 at 2:26 PM

A computer simulation based on available stats and data run multiple times to take the average result fits currently accepted scientific methods for accurately predicting possible outcomes. The Pentagon does this with war plans. NASA does this with spacecraft launches. Businesses do this with new product releases. The fact is that predictions based on computer simulations have proven to be very accurate on the whole.

Don't ignore stats just because you don't personally like them. Ignoring stats and polls based on blind ideology or fanatic devotion will result in a Hillary Clinton presidency.

Romo is in the tradition of Roger Staubach who’s nickname was Roger The Dodger.

When Jerry Jones took over the Cowboys he insisted his quarterbacks stay in the pocket. As a result, quarterbacks White and Aikeman got career-ending concussions from the constant pounding they were getting because they could not move.

I have always thought that what the Cowboys required was a mobile QB. I think Romo has proven me right.

Anyway, since they beat the 49ers, they’re 1 - 1 against the NFC West.

Yeah, you're right. The Seahawks are also 1-1 against the NFC West. They also thrashed the 49ers and lost to Arizona on a dumb busted play. The 49ers were the chic pick to win this year! hahahahahahahahaha

I hated the Cowboys for years. No team more infamous for crack addicts and assaults, and they pulled some real lowbrow crap with the Pack back in '97-98.

However, Romo was on FIRE. Pack needs to go after him next year after Favre is eligible for social security.

I’ll just refer you to any objective fan watching that game to say what happened.

It's true that I'm not objective. I'm a Steelers fan (although I moved away from there long ago).

The Seahawks can exact a small measure of revenge this week in Pittsburg. Steelers will be 0-3 against the NFC West.

Mallard T. Drake on October 1, 2007 at 4:09 PM

It should be a good game. The Steelers have been, until yesterday, playing better than I expected this year. But when they were beaten physically by the Cardinals ...

I say give the rest of the Packers offense time to grow and I’m sure they’ll turn out into an even better team (and considering this season Brett Favre should stay around for at least another two years - or a Superbowl win).

Yeah, I agree with ya. Brett Favre is really good.

If I'm the owner of a NFL team, and my team is down 7-0 with no timeouts left, 40 seconds on the clock remaining, and deep in my own territory, then the QBs I want on my team are.....

Peyton Manning or Brett Favre

How about the Packers' punter making the running play of the day, which is sad for the Pack's running game.

When the punter has the longest run of the day, theres something wrong... But if 4-0 is wrong, I don't wanna be right!

It’s almost freaky.

My brother is like that. I have to have something to measure it by. Like the last year someone played and work backwards, etc. Or the first year we played at Texas Stadium. I can tell you the major events, like SB wins, losses, who played (mostly) etc., but not everything. My brother can tell you by year just about anything you want to know about the Cowboys and the team they played. He can do the same with baseball, hockey and Nascar. I find that just weird. ::grin::

My wife is the same way. It's scary sometimes cause you can just say "1977 team" and she will name just about the entire roster. It's almost freaky.

Spoken like a true Cowboy fan. Nice to know there are some other real fans out there and not all the "fair weather" varity. I do get a little tired of the "I hate Jerry Jones so I don't back the cowboys" drivle.

Get over it people, he owns the team, Tom Landry (god bless is soul) is gone. Roger has not thrown a ball in almost 30 years.

No superstar receivers? What do you call Donald Driver?

I was thinking the same thing.

Still, to give Brett Favre much deserved credit, they basically have a one-dimensional offense: pass, pass, and pass.

Heck, I'd like to see what the reaction would be too. I imagine one of those bar scenes where the music screeches to a halt and a bunch of dudes glare at me asking "What'd you say, boy?" Remember, you might think "don't mess with Texas" sounds cool, but the rest of the country pretty much takes it as a dare.

Naw, they wanted to give it to us. We just had to help them understand that.
