There is no intellectual or historical connection between being anti-Zionist, and being a Holocaust denier. Nothing prevents one from accepting the historical fact of the Holocaust, and being anti-Zionist, which most of the Hasidic world was at the time of the founding of the state of Israel. In fact many, or even most of the anti-Zionist Hasidic population were survivors themselves. (In time, they came around–only Neure Karta remains irredentist.) But one could be as anti-Zionist as the day is long, and still not want to see “Israel wiped off the map,” not because of one’s attachment to Israel as a political entity, obviously, but because of the people who would be killed as the “wiping off” was going on. Sadly, the only thing that connects being anti-Zionist and a denier of the Holocaust is anti-Semitism. But anti-Semitic Jews–how could there be such a thing–how much more self-hating can you get, cozying up to the Dinnerjacket? If one thinks that calling Neure Karta “self-hating,” which is what they certainly appear to be, is harsh, just remember–they also live in that Israel which would be “wiped off.” They want to be wiped off the map? How much more self-hating can one get than being suicidal?
